TACOS NORTEÑOS $4.50 ea. Small. Tasted good. Way too small for $4.50.
Tiny $4.50 taco QuesaBIRRIA. I expected it to be much bigger for the price. Didn't seem grilled at all much less "to perfection"
Chicken Burrito
Big stack of yummy ingredients.
Del Gordo Hawaiiana Burger and Del Gordo Cubana Burger

Tiny $4.50 taco NORTEÑOS and two for $3.99 poppers were disappointing too.

Tragically, Hamburguesas is no longer an option. Terrible portions, terrible service, terrible quality. Everything has gone downhill. Will never order again.

Visited the Hamburgesas El Gordo today as we have heard great things about their El Gordo burger. We ordered a few things to share and the cheeseburger was for our kiddos to share. Mi like the kick of the elote. They have 5 different salsa and they marked the spice level. I enjoyed all five but favorite one is the green spicy one. The name was unfortunately not labeled:I enjoyed both tacos I ordered, they are freshly made. My husband liked the burger. I took a bite and it reminded me of Big Mac

After a long day of work I was just craving a good, juicy burger. I have driven by this place on numerous occasions and didn't pay much thought to it until looking on Google Maps to see what was close. Hey, its something new so lets give it a shot. Set up is fast casual and reminded me of going to an "American" cafe when I vacation in Mexico, everything had a Mexican flavor to classic American dishes like burgers and hot dogs. I decided on the Hawaiian Burger. The beef patty wasn't thick but what it lacked in size it made up for in flavor form the other ingredients piled highly on the bun. The burger was juicy, messy, and just what I was looking for. The freshly cut fries were a nice accompaniment to the burger especially dipped in their homemade salsas. The habanero sauce was fruity with just the right amount of heat. Prices were a tad high for fast casual but it wasn't a make a break for a return visit.

While I am familiar with the Hamburguesa El Gordo franchise, this is the first time I have sought out their burgers at the West Saint Paul location. I can say that I prefer this location over the Saint Paul location mainly because of seating availability and parking. Their burgers were juicy and stacked with a full compliment of lettuce, tomatoes etc. , and their fries were fresh and hot. The patty itself reminds me of a smash burger patty but as you can see in the photos, they're well made. I got the Hawaiana and my partner got the cubana. Both very good and has a definite Mexican street food vibe. Although I do not care for their salsa bar (in my opinion the salsas lack flavor and spice), their cucumber and lime agua frescas are quite refreshing!I will say, parking can be a little difficult because the entrance and exit spots are shared and also due to the busy strip that it's on. The inside is quite casual, nothing fancy but more of a whole in the wall. Will be coming back the next time I am in the West Saint Paul area!

Pretty good tasting tacos but they are tiny! especially for $4.50 each. they should be like $2.25. From the photos and the price I expected the tacos to be much larger and the birria tacos looked like they were fried shells on the outside but they were not. Disappointed. The bacon poppers were not a good as they looked either. Also smaller than expected.

Hey Travoodies .. Hey Travoodies ... It's Wednesday so you know what that means. It's the spot of the week. This week that spot goes out to a nice eatery nestled in West St Paul and a couple of other locations. Authentic street food with Cuban burgers is just what Claudia and her team are cooking up in Hamburguesa El Gordo. Today I allowed Elma (I believe is her name) to offer the best suggestions that the restaurant had to offer. She did not disappoint me. I started with the Hawaiian burger with fries. For one this burger had every thing on it. I am talking grilled pineapple, mozzarella, cheddar, ham, bacon, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, avocado, pickle peppers, ketchup, mayo and mustard. No I did remove the tomato because it's not something I eat. But let me tell this burger was juicy and everything paired well together. It was as if the tropics were exploding on my taste buds. The fries seemed fresh cut and I would suggest to eat the immediately if you have to warm them I believe they loose tastiness. Next I indulged in the QuesaBIRRIA combo that comes with consommé. The bite along sent crazy amazing flavors into my mouth. The meat was so tender and the cheese oozed. This is was definitely a delight. This stop was definitely a treat and I'm glad to stop in. My overall experience was definitely 9 out 10. #TheTravoodie #BlackFoodie #YelpEats #BlackTraveler #TravelInfluencer #blacktravelblogger #blacktravelfeed #globaleats #FoodBlogger #travelblogger #eatnorthamerica #globaleats #flavorfulfoodiez**Like, Share, & Follow Me @thetravoodie on IG, FB & TikTokDM or Email for Collab #TheTravoodieLife

Okay do not sleep on this spot. I did not try the hamburgers, despite them being in the name and much of the signage. They looked good, but I was feeling the tacos. And oh my oh my.Tacos are well priced; the combos are definitely worth it (that's what my friends got) but I ended up grabbing two tacos plus some elote. Our group got carne asada fries to share as well. Taco meats are all priced the same, you can choose what toppings you want - classic involves onions, cilantro, and comes with some salsa verde as well. These tacos are great! My friend said they are some of the closest he's had in the US to tacos like he has in Mexico. No meat skimped, although def would be a bit dry if you aren't generous with the salsa. The elote was delicious; it's corn on the cob (not in a cup or whatever on the side) with ample seasoning, cheese (cotija probably?) and mayo (unless it was crema??) Either way it was tasty. The fries were glorious; ample meat and cheese on top. Definitely heavier and you should eat it with a fork. Sinfully good.I am sad I do not live in St. Paul and could come by often, but my waistline is probably better off for it. Support a great woman-owned business and get some dank food!

Coming from Mexican roots where I have family members that have taquerias in Mexico I have been very fortunate to know what authentic tacos need to taste like. That said I decided to try this place on Mexican Independence Day to support a local business that I've been hearing so much about! First of I'm glad I was able to arrive before there was a long line formed. I was also happy to order in Spanish as it's one of the few places you can order that way. Because there were 4 of us the best option was to get the Taco Box, which came with Asada, chorizo, and Alpastor. The bonus was that it came with frijoles charros which are refried beans with bacon (so delicious btw). Then an order of rice and as a bonus I added an order of elote preparado. The tacos were good but the only downside was that by the time we got them they were not really hot anymore, which was the only downside. I did love the alpastor once as they had a great marinade and great color. The rice was what seemed off to me as traditionally you will have a red/orange colored rice that would have been flavored with tomatoes, in this case there wasn't any flavor on them. I'm an Elote girl and I've had my fair share of elotes preparados. I'll say their Elote was really good and like that you have the option to order it in a cup as sometime getting the hole corn can be messy eating. Over all I really think the way to go is to order the box as it comes with jalapeños that are rolled in bacon! And the salsas are served in a traditional way which is in a small bag. Like always I can tell if it's good food if their green salsa is on point and it was ! I will be coming again and trying their tortas as they look so good!

The street tacos are vey good but we generally go for the Del Gordo burger. Full of toppings and a good size burger patty. Have tried the Hawaiian too which I really like.
