I've used these folks over the years since I moved into the neighborhood in 2020. They are reliable and I trust them 100%. Very friendly and fair. They have a dog that is in the office every now and then - always a bonus!

My car was 1st towed here by AAA ovr 10 yrs ago, when the Alternator died during a snowstorm & I was stuck in the Drive-Thru lane at my Bank, just as they were closing! I didn't know what was wrong at the time, but the tow guy tried jumping it, & since the battery wasn't that old, he figured it had to be more so told me this place was reliable, AND AAA rated, so I could trust them not to jack me for more than actually needed. It was aftr hrs so we dropped the car in the lot, put the keys in their slot, in one of the envelopes I put my info on so they could call next day. They did, and gave me a reasonable estimate, plus a 3-day turnaround, I wasn't thrilled abt, but then offrd me a Loaner Vehicle: Absolutely, I'll take one! It was kinda a junker, but got great gas mileage, & had a super good little heater in it, so who was I to complain? It was getting me to & from the job so I didn't miss out on any hours (I'm self-employed, so only earn when I actually work!)When my car was ready, they called me with the total, and then I asked abt their sign offering a AAA disct (? can't remember exact percntg; & know they stopped it excpt for portion of labor now I think, so u shd ask) off my bill, which was really nice they did for yrs Since my old trusted mechanic in my hood had just retired, I was SO Happy I'd been brought where I felt trust I'd be taken care of. I've been going to them ovr 10 yrs now. I got an 06 Jeep Liberty a yr&1/2 ago that my boyfriend found for me in the neighborhood, w/a4Sale sign on it. It was cln & cute & drove well, but A/C didn't wrk. Ownr said IF it was more than $300 to fix, he'd split cost w/me, so: SOLD! Bf suggstd I bring it to Jeep Dealership (Barnett, see sep. revw 4 Them!) dwn the rd for a full look ovr, & for A/C rpr. Orig ownr also told me emergency brk didn't wrk; ok, fine: I'll have that chkd too. Barnett tells me 1) emerg brk is non-existent & had bn completely removed. Byfrnd calls ownr! number blocked! So stops ovr to see him, but he'd moved out & had only been renting a rm in the hs. Well, the $800+ I pd to have things looked over and fix A/C wouldn't get split now, but at least Barnett had told me their transmission folks drove it & evaluated engine: it was all good! Bcuz my bf thought he smelled tranny fluid coming out of exhaust & wanted that ckd b4 we left on Our maiden rd trip together to Colorado. Things went well on our way there, except the 1st day I went to use A/C it didn't work. I called Barnett & they said they'd fix it upon my return, but didn't help me AT ALL on my vacay, did it? On the way hm 2 wks latr, 2 hrs fr the Cities, the Oil idiot lt came on, so nxt exit we stopped to fill our tank & ck oil. The engine was ticking SO LOUD I thot it mit hav a time bomb inside! We added nrly 3 qrts oil, but didn't help w/ticking & gas stn suggestd we take it to a local mechanic in twn (tiny country twn) who told us he daren't drive it furthr if it were his, 'cause he din't think it'd make it. So, I had it towed on a flatbed to St Paul, for $470, $500 w/tip. We asked arnd, but eventually brought it ovr to Hage-Kobany, who did some thorough testing to assure me: YES, it NEEDed a New Engine. By this time COVID Pandemic was in full mode, & my biggest/last bookkeeping client in NE Mpls had lost a lot of business & told me to go collect unemplymt; it was while on vacation I found out THAT had expired for all self-employed wrkrs, so now I was waitng for Soc.Sec.Retirement to begin, but in the meantime was practically broke & had No Idea HOW I was going to pay for a New Engine! A friend suggested I try a GoFundMe; once I got the estimate of betwn $5,500 & $6,900 I knew it was my only hope. Friends GH Family really pitched in, helping me pull together a ttl of $3500, which was exactly HALF, IF every single gasket, wire & hose that was in the way when they took out the Old Engine actually had to be replaced, b4 it was put back in. The manager said he highly doubted the high end, but needed to put it down as worst cs scenario.WELL, the bill came to nrly 6800, but the mgr worked the #s & got the balance due down for me (aftr GoFundMe 3500 applied) to just undr 3k, bcuz he knew that evn in my financial situation I'd qualify for financing frm a cple diff places offring it to ppl like me. If pd undr 6 mos: FREE Financing! I hav a bro who owes me much more than that, & hoped he'd cough some up, but no such luck, sadly. I'm STILL paying $130/mo a yr ltr, at 28% intrst, but happy2hav the option, bcuz it's STILL RUNNING, & has allowed me 2 continu doing garden design wrk, my NEW career since the bkkpng thing withered away.YAY HAGE-KOBANY!! They were MORE than fair: Gave me a great warranty on the engine replcmt, squeezing it on their tight sched to tweak TWICE the 1st few mos Thanks a Bunch guys!

I experienced problems with my 1972 Riviera transmission and wanted an honest, old school type business for diagnosis and repair. A friend highly recommended Hage Kobany because "they are honest and won't try to sell you things that aren't broke!" I made the one hour drive and am glad I did. Brandon at the front desk processed me very quickly and professionally. Andrew and Kevin listened to my concerns and found the issues. The necessary repairs were made for a fair price. I was particularly impressed with their depth of knowledge! My take? An honest, well ran family business. Highly recommend!

These guys are a great example of why you work with specialists. I had a very difficult transmission problem and they provided an option the Infiniti dealer didn't and it saved me thousands of dollars. A month into it the car is running great and Jeff Hage is a very high integrity person. I would highly recommend them to anyone and I know they do great work beyond transmissions based on their Google reviews. They get five out of five on Google reviews BTW. Cheers, Luke

I will (and do) drive 45 minutes to have my automobile serviced here. Never had to transmission work done, even though that's their speciality. They have serviced 5 of my vehicles and over a span of 15 years!!! Fantastic and inexpensive oil changes and other typical, average maintenance is the work I've had done. This place diffuses any typical stereotypes of a typical mechanic shop- If you are looking for a HONEST, kind, knowledgeable, and a good priced mechanic try Hage Kobany!

Was towed out of my sisters apt while visiting. Parking lot did not have clear signs on where it was ok to park. My sister said where I was parked was ok so didn't think nothing of it. Went to go home and my car was gone. I called 911 and they said they tow people out of that lot often. It costed me $425 to get my car back. Called the company to see if they could release my car that night, there cell phone reception was so bad and the guy made me sound stupid stating it was my phone when I had full bars. I thought they were rude. Mind you there was only 2 cars parked there out of alot of spots.

Brought in my car for ball-joint clunking. They replaced and told me suspension was broken (?) too and had to be replaced. 3 out of 3, last times at shop, I've been told "extra but-necessary" repairs had to be done. Same trip, had them also look at rear windshield wiper as not working after rear window replaced (recently, at unrelated body shop) -was making noise, just barely moving. After bringing to them, did not move/make noise. Told by shop it needed new motor for $380. Brought back to body shop that replaced window and they told me one wire had been completely disconnected. They plugged back in and motor works just fine and did not need replacement at all. Trust them? You be the judge.

Horrible communication. My vehicle was towed here by AAA on a Friday early evening. It's Tuesday evening the following week and I have yet to get a call from ANYONE at this shop. Side bar, these people supposedly fixed my car by replacing a $550 solenoid on 10/6, my vehicle stalled out exhibiting the same issues on 10/15. Owner Jeff said he would have someone look at it on Monday morning 10/18 and apologized for his techs. It's now 10/19 with no word or follow up on why my vehicle has stopped after they serviced it now two weeks ago. AAA recommends this place and I am doing everything I can to have them re-evalute their recommendation of this place. Their reputation is on the line with this place! STAY AWAY! NOW, they are ignoring my calls!! I have left a message for the owner to resolve. Still waiting.......

How they handled my car is disappointing. They didn't really fix the braking sound of my car. And recently, I spent nearly $700 on a repair and when they gave the car back to me, they told me that they had done a full inspection and EVERYTHING looked perfect. TWO WEEKS LATER, I took the car in for a due tire rotation, then they told me there were two other major issues that emerged and would cost me another $1000. How they had missed these two major issues two weeks earlier is beyond me. When I asked them to come up with a solution because of the negligence of duty on their part, they were not responsive at all. And they say their goal is to make their customers happy. Interesting! I would recommend Hage-Kobany Transmissions. And be careful next time when they tell you your car is in great condition.
