H & B Gallery is one of the best kept secrets in the Twin Cities. An absolute dreamland for folks who like antiques and rare objects. You can easly spend an hour wandering through the different rooms. The staff is very helpful and the manager Jonathan is extremely knowledgeable. I have purchased and sold things there.

I drove by this consignment store a few times and a pottery-barn-style caramel armchair in the window display caught my eye. When I finally went in, I was surprised to see that this consignment store specialized in fine furniture.Three employees in the front area were dressed professionally and I got the impression that they had trained eyes for furniture design and quality.I didn't see furniture that fit my style. This store offers large ornate & formal dining furniture (traditional / English / old-style hotels / tea rooms) and desks, sofas, hutches, lamps, accent pieces, etc. Prices seemed to range from $250 - $1000. For example, price tags on lamps were around $250 and dining tables were around $1000. These are great prices considering the pieces being sold.I saw a lamp I liked -- it looked like it was salvaged from a lighthouse and restored to near-perfect condition. I took a peek at the armchair in the window and it was only $265! The condition of the armchair was 'like new' except for a few scratches on the legs.If you're looking for country / contemporary / chic furniture styles, you won't get much from a visit to this store. But if you're looking for traditional & formal furniture, this store is for you.Note: there was a sign that said a 3% charge would apply to credit card purchases.---P.S. I am giving this store 4 stars because of the wide selection, prices, & level of professionalism despite having little interest in the furniture styles that this store specializes in.

I have lived in the Twin Cities for over 30 years and had never heard of H&B until someone happened to mention it to me at another shop. I was delighted to find 3 floors of items of the type that one would not normally be able to find in MN stores. Very custom, very lavish items for luxury home decor. Absolutely a fun place to just browse and examine a whole assortment of lamps, tables, chairs, chandeliers, accessories, tableware, boxes, you name it....all of which are high quality consignments from some wealthy person looking to sell. There is continual turnover so repeat trips to peruse is worthwhile. I ended up buying a chandelier for my new home which would retail for about $3000. It was priced at $1800, and I purchased it for $1250. It worked fine and looks fab in my home. It is a signature piece in the front entry and I would never have been able to afford it new. Fun purchase! The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and willing to negotiate if the seller is willing.(it depends upon how long the item has been there). I would caution not to bring small children as there are many breakable items and the space is stuffed with items at close quarters. A treasure hunter's paradise. Don't miss it.

The crème de la crème of antiques in the Twin Cities. I've purchased many items in store and at several of the estate sales they run and they remain some of my absolute favorite pieces to date. I never come up empty-handed when visiting their in-person location. Staff is super knowledgeable and friendly and have offered very fair price reductions on items that have been on the floor for awhile.

It has been over 2 years that I have on numerous occasions contacted HB Gallery and they referred me to Edina Diamond Center regarding an appraisal that indicated the bracelet had a specific number of diamonds, one small problem not all the indicated stones were diamonds, two were NOT diamonds. HB said to contact Edina Diamond which we did numerous times by phone and when their website indicated they were open made two trips to Edina only to find out the store was closed. Back to HB who after numerous contacts said they would buy the bracelet back, I did not want to sell the bracelet back, I wanted their help in getting diamonds put in where th non diamonds are. I want everyone purchasing jewelry at an HB Gallery estate to be wary of any appraisals from them and Edina Diamonds.
