GusGus was such an amazing treat for dinner tonight with a friend. We started things off right with the Jell-O shots - pretty with edible glitter :) we shared the chips with caviar (which was delicious) and I devoured the cheeseburger while my friend enjoyed the risotto. The service was so friendly and helpful with recommendations. The inside is so cute, and uniquely decorated. I would definitely come back again

Gus Gus was fantastic! The burger was legitimately the best burger I've had. I'm not someone who typically orders a burger and admittedly I often turn my nose up at people who talk about places with the best burgers. It's just not an exciting or noteworthy food in my eyes. This is the one place where I'll give in and rave about the burger. We also had the appetizer of chips with crème fresche and caviar. Absolutely delicious. Perfectly salty, I'd live on those if I could. Along with the burger we shared the Brussel sprouts. Also delicious, very unique flavors and perfectly cooked. The Jell-O shots were tasty and made me feel like a fancy college student! I'm not typically a specialty fancy drinks person. They are always too sweet or all show with poor flavor combinations, but nothing to worry about at GusGus. We ordered specialty drinks- I forgot the names, something with a hammock and something else with Cherry? They were delicious and made me want to try more speciality drinks here. My only criticism and what kept me from the 5th star was how loud it was. We had a real hard time keeping our conversation and we were there at 9pm. There is nothing to absorb sound and after an hour it was just too much for me. The ambiance and coziness is lovely, reminiscent of little trendy spots around Europe, it's just too loud to hold a good conversation. That probably makes me sound old, and I kinda am. But the point is to talk at dinner and if I have to talk over the 20 people around me, it takes away from the overall joy of the experience. Don't let that stop you. Go to Gus Gus and enjoy!

Took my partner here for his birthday dinner. It was a very nice experience. We had a reservation so we were seated immediately. The restaurant was buzzing and there were a decent amount of people there and the lighting was low and the ambiance was welcoming and definitely had its own little vibe. We were brought to our table in the back, ordered drinks immediately and they also had some yummy $5 jello shots on the menu (we did like 4 or 5 rounds of these), they were nice and fresh, lights, ez to take and didn't taste fake or artificial. Our waitress was great, she was not overbearing or too much, she made sure to check on us fairly often and addressed single need. We got the chips with creme fraiche and speck.. these were just the perfect app! The chips were house made and nice and light with the creme fraiche and getting a little piece of speck as like getting a lil slice of heaven and it nice and salty.. enjoyable! We also got one of the salads (I cannot remember which) but it was good and fresh and a perfect addition to our meal. We also got the shrimp.. ok, this was amazing! The shrimp were huge, in shell and the lil sauce that was served with it was chefs kiss! We got the burger... ok... great great burger. The meat was cooked to perfection, the only problem is that the bun was too much, we actually needed to take some of it off because it over powered the actual burger. We got the scallops as well but ended up sending those back because they were salty. She took them back and did not charge us so that made sense. We also got the chimichurri steak.. oh lalala! The steak was sliced to perfection, it was a great cut, cooked perfectly and the chimichurri was just so good and fresh and light. I let the waitress know it was my partners birthday and to bring us 2 glasses of champagne.. which she did. And she brought out another round of jello shots with a candle.. lovely touch! While the meal was amazing, the service impeccable, and the food was good.. I don't think I'll be going back here.. but nonetheless.. will recommend!

We found Gus Gus while searching for a cool, intimate place for dinner, and it did not disappoint. After reading the reviews of others, we knew we had to try.The setting is very intimate, the dinning areas are small with low ceilings. Many commented on the level of noise in the restaurant, and that's true, but for us it just added to the excitement of our visit to see how happy everyone was to be there enjoying themselves. We started with the housemade chips topped with creme fraiche, and we added the caviar. Homerun for sure. Do not sleep on the chips. Well worth it and a perfect snack while you wait for your entrees. We also tried the NY strip and the mussels. My wife and I both agreed that the mussels were the best we have ever eaten, and we have tried them about everywhere. Our server was very friendly and offered nice drink suggestions. It's a compact setting, but they were very quick to clear the tables as you went to make it all manageable and enjoyable. The atmosphere was very cool and buzzed with excitement. It's definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

Gus Gus in St. Paul, Minnesota, has officially stolen my heart with their incredible cheeseburger! In fact, I dare say it's the best cheeseburger in the entire Twin Cities area. From the moment I sunk my teeth into their masterpiece, I knew I was in for something special. The burger was loaded with flavor - from the tangy pickles to the sweet caramelized onions and the zesty mustard aioli, every bite was a symphony of taste sensations. And let's not forget about the cheese - perfectly melted and oozing with goodness. But the burger wasn't the only star of the show. Gus Gus also knows how to do fries right - crispy, golden, and downright addictive. They were the perfect accompaniment to the main event. What truly sets Gus Gus apart, though, is the cozy atmosphere and the attentive staff. From the moment I walked in, I felt right at home. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was nothing short of perfection. If you're ever in the mood for a cheeseburger that will blow your mind, look no further than Gus Gus. Trust me, once you've tried it, you'll be counting down the days until your next visit!

My first time at Gus Gus and it was great! Be warned that this place is VERY small but adorable. It can get loud but if you are with the right group it doesn't matter. We ordered the gnocchi & smash burger both were delicious! We also ordered the brussels sprouts as an appetizer to share, unfortunately, our server had forgotten about those, but once we reminded her, she very quickly apologized and comped them for us which was appreciated! We also ordered the chocolate mousse cake for dessert and it was incredible. Overall a cute spot for a date night or catching up with friends. Their menu is unique and quite limited, but depending on your appetite, I'm sure you can find something that you like.

Gus Gus was phenomenal. I remember when the space used to be Cafe 182 when I went to UST. It was fancy then and it's fancy now, the inside is so eclectic with teal walls with black donkey prints and gold or brass accents. It was very chic but a little dark for photos. We were sat near the corner and had a very nice waitress who gave us recommendations. It was my groups first time going to the restaurant and we were celebrating a birthday. I had the double cheeseburger with grilled onions and cheese and it was fantastic. Easily one of my top five burgers in the twin cities it was just melting in my mouth and was so savory and perfect somehow. The girls got the gnocchi dish with butternut squash and they didn't love it as much because there was too much mascarpone which was similar to sour cream, they did like gnocchi it was perfection. The fried gnocchi poutine for our appetizer to split was phenomenal it had oxtail that was so savory. The poutine was so filling and the fried gnocchi was chefs kiss. My other friend had the scallops and said the lemon risotto was amazing. No complementary desert was offered but that's okay we went to cafe latte after for cheesecake slices! Seemed like a missed opportunity to promote desserts from the menu. A perfect night, I nightly recommend the burger. Another top burger is Parlour Bar in Saint Paul with egg and bacon on top. I'm getting hungry writing this now!

OVERALL: Put this place on your list! I feel like I was living under a rock not knowing about it. This is a GEM.ATMOSPHERE: It essentially is located in a home, so it's super cozy vibes. I will say this does make it close quarters but I think if you're seated in the back room you have more space! SERVICE: Our server was super attentive, there was also a delay in us getting seated so the host even brought us out jello shots!FOOD: The food is absolutely spectacular. The burger is insane - so much flavor and so cheesy. The gnocci was my favorite! They were like large pillows of deliciousness. PRICE: We went in knowing it wasn't going to be the cheapest dinner but we ordered a lot and split it between 4 people and it was about ~$50/each!
