I've been wanting to try the bread here for so long, but everytime I thought of it, it was a Sunday or Monday when they're closed. Glad I came on a Friday when there was green chile cheddar sourdough-- it was absolutely incredible. The perfect amount of sour and cheese flavor. It was still warm from the oven when they packed it for me!The staff were really nice and there were lots of options for sweets, breads, and premade mixes. I love that the menu switches everyday so I can go back to try more. I'm very picky about good bread and this is a must try in the cities!

The small bakery you walk in the food smell makes your mouth water and taste buds going to get things. Their service is amazing.

The smell of fresh baked bread is amazing. It's enjoyable to just stand inside for a minute, breathing it all in. I often make a special stop here around the holidays for a few loaves of fresh bread. It is worth the trip to buy some of the best locally made fresh bread. I typically know what I want, yet leave with more! This is because they give out generous samples. Then I decide to buy a few extra items! This year, I had to buy the savory Summit oatmeal stout and gouda cheese bread, caramel apple bread and the adorable bunny shaped loaf! (see pics)Great Harvest also has an amazing assortment of fresh baked cookies. I love the oatmeal salt caramel, which is giant sized! In the past, I have also been on the receiving end of their race rolls for a run and bike ride. They are often giving back to the community with these donations. Thank you.

Been coming here for many years but no review as yet. Well... better late than never.Great Harvest is a deservedly successful establishment. They are skilled bakers and offer a wide variety of goods, savory and sweet. On the sweet side, I love the cinnamon rolls with walnuts and raisins. Heat 'em up and slather them with no salt creamery butter for a real morning treat. For me, 1/2 roll is generally more than enough. The other half will keep in the frig for a few days or freezes well for later enjoyment.Their scones are very good. I also like the salted caramel and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. They offer a changing variety of excellent muffins. A friend swears by their granola and stocks up regularly. On the savory side, the asiago/pesto and pepperoni rolls are very good. The buckwheat/flax bread is great and toasts well for those with a gluten intolerance. In March, I look forward to their Irish Soda bread. I think it's the best available around town. They also make a great sourdough.GH offers generous samples and I've found everyone on staff to be pleasant and efficient even in the busiest of times (e.g., Saturday mornings).Usually there's plenty of off street parking and getting in and out is no hassle.

This Great Harvest location offers excellent service and a diverse variety of bread options. The standout for me is the chocolate Babka. It is, however, a seasonal item. If you're fortunate enough to be there when it's on the menu, make sure you purchase a loaf. The rhubarb and chocolate chip bread is also a decadent indulgence that is worth trying. You can't go wrong here. You can usually snag street parking or else there's a small lot adjacent to the store. It worth it, don't hesitate to stop in today.

Tucked in the Linden Hills neighborhood of South Minneapolis. If you need a carb fix, this is a great place. The aroma of freshly baked bread emanating from this place is enough to stop in. The prices are reasonable and the bakery carries both seasonal treats and the basics. My personal favorites are the apple crunch mini loaf, multigrain bread and the Italian almond bread made during the Christmas holiday. The bread is sliced thinner than the average bakery loaf which somehow adds to the flavor of the grains when you toast it. When you stop in don't forget to try a sample with Hope creamery butter while you browse.

I saw on their sign that they have gluten free bread samples, so I went in to get one. She took the chunk of bread (which was touching some gluten bread), placed it on gluten crumbs, was going to cut it with the same knife used for the other bread, and was presumably going to offer to butter it for me - with cross-contaminated butter. *It's no longer gluten free!*The kid (manager?) who came to talk to me, when I explained this to him he basically went broken record and kept saying over and over that if they are that sensitive they shouldn't get bread there. I kept explaining to him over and over that when people have literally just found out they're gluten-free, they generally have no concept of cross-contamination and will keep getting sick until they figure it out - or until someone who works at one of these places and is educated about this tells them. How hard is it to understand that you don't know what you don't know, and if someone who's super sensitive and new at this sees a sign saying gluten-free bread, they're going to go in and try some - and get sick!!I finally got frustrated and said some people won't know a f***ing thing about cross-contamination, them he threatened to get the owner. Turns out he's kind of a jerk himself, according to friends who live in the neighborhood and had some bad issues with him to the point they won't shop there anymore, so that probably wouldn't have gotten me anywhere anyway. Grrrr
