I visited Grahn's in February, 2017, shortly after moving to MN and before they had a yelp account, so I couldn't leave a review until now. I feel I should warn others of my negative experience with them, so that no one else wastes their time like I did. When I walked into their shop. I was greeted by a friendly woman whom I told I had 2 Fritz Hansen PK20 chairs I wanted to have a quote for getting the upholstery on the seat & backs re-glued as the glue on the seat, which holds the fabric in place, notoriously comes undone over time on all their chairs. I also had an Eames sofa that I wanted the walnut to be cleaned up and conditioned as well as having the straps under the seating and back area replaced, since they begin to sag over time with use. She took my information and wrote down what we'd discussed and told me I should expect a call in just a couple days to arrange a time for someone to visit my home and evaluate my furniture for a quote. A week went by without hearing anything, so I called them and explained I'd not heard back yet and the woman who I spoke with on the phone said she'd give my info again for someone to contact me to arrange a time to visit. Another week and still no call, so I called back again and re-explained the same thing I'd previously explained 3 times now and wanted to have the quote ASAP as I was having guests arriving and didn't want to be without furniture. A few days after my 2nd call. I get an email from Paula Mielke apologizing for their tardiness and I was told they could pick up my furniture in a few days. I explained that I was requesting a home visit to quote the work I wanted done before I agreed to let them have my furniture, since no one from their shop had even seen my furniture to provide me a quote yet. Paula emailed me back saying "I have been thinking about your furniture. I believe this upholstery shop is a better fit for the work you need done right now:" and she provided a web address for a remnant shop, which upon looking at their work online, they mainly seemed to do garage sale furniture, not handling $18,000 worth of high end furniture. Basically, I feel like they wasted my time for nearly 3 weeks. They didn't have any grasp of communication skills since I was always repeating what I wanted done each time I phoned them and also in email communications with Paula and directing customers to a sub par upholstery shop made me feel like they didn't want my business or couldn't handle what I wanted done. Perhaps they should have been more upfront at the first visit and told me they wouldn't be able to work on my furniture because it was beyond their capabilities. Happy to say that I contacted both manufactures and they recommended local companies for me to work with and all have been brought back to the original, pristine condition they were in when I purchased them!

I took an old family rocker in that needed the cushion cover replaced. They did a fabulous job! Done in a timely manner. Decent price. Good work.
