I heard that Ginny offered King Cakes for the Mardi Gras season and had to check it out. There are 5 flavors offered and I pre-ordered a Boston Cream Almond King Cake. Original Cinnamon & SugarPecan & RaisinMarmaladeStrawberryBoston Cream Almond King Cake The cake is heavy. The regular size is big enough for a family with the larger size for a party. Whoever finds the baby buys the next one. I found it in my first piece.I have had king cakes from over 30 bakeries. Traditional or filled. Mostly in the New Orleans area. My standards are high and when I bit into this king cake I was disappointed. It was dry, where was the Boston Cream? My husband looked at me ... we drove to Anoka for this???BUT ... an epiphany ... I microwaved each piece for 19 seconds. Perfect. The chocolate melted slightly on top and the filling oozed. It was moist and you could taste cinnamon. Very nice. Two days later and still great. Just microwave 19 seconds.P.S. The knife always stays in the box.

Saw this on our Facebook community page and eventually crossed the river into Anoka to give it a try, and glad we did. Opening the door the delicious bakery air invited us in to the experience. We were there for pastries, but they also make meals and have specials so take advantage of those too. I noticed tomorrow (May 3rd) is biscuits and sausage gravy. From a New Orleans influenced menu, I'd definitely give that a go! The pastries we've tasted so far have been good and I feel like we're in a good travel show with all the options we brought home. Definitely will visit again!

Ginny makes THEE best oatmeal raisin cookies on the planet! Every time I go in, I have to pick one up. Her other baked goods are also amazing! And those fancy coffee drinks are too! Haven't had any of the savory offerings yet, but it's on our list of places to go for lunch.

What an amazing addition to the food scene in downtown Anoka. Ginny has a cute little store front that is stocked with fresh homemade southern style sweets. My favorite part is the absolutely amazing lunch specials she has daily. My favorite foods come from Louisiana and Ginny has brought them to our backyard. From her muffuletta to her Lucky Louie gator Po Boy (the most tender gator I have ate outside of Louisiana and that remoulade sauce needs to be bottled and sold). Her customer service is top notch and the cute little seating area is a great place to enjoy those sweets or lunch specials. This is a must if you're in the area!

Yum! We ordered two trays of cookies. One was traditional and the other European. Wow - so incredibly tasty!!! Love the staff and the store is super cute. Repeat for our family.

Just ate there today. We split the blackened gator tail sandwich with remoulade sauce. It was excellent with just enough kick to it. Husband had a cup of their coffee/chicory blend which definitely reminded us of New Orleans, if they only had beignets! But the best was the triple berry pie with a scoop of ice cream, better than Betty's Pies up by Duluth. Lots of berries and they warmed it for me so ice cream was melting over it. Do hope she is successful with this endeavor.
