This pizza is really different than what I'm used to (NYC), and I enjoyed it. Totally surprised me, in a good way. Stopped in to get a slice before a hockey game. Or so I thought. Easy to park in front. The place is huge. When I walked in, I was greeted by the people working there. They don't sell pizza by the slice, however they do have a smallish, oh I forget 9" or 10" pie, thin crust. I asked for that. It was made to order. Was worth the wait. Pizza comes cut in many squares - kind of fun to eat. Good for a group. The crust was thin and delish. At first I wasn't sure if I liked the sauce and there was a little bit more than I would like. However I found myself oddly addicted. Happy I went.

Decent place to eat but horrible value for what you get. We ordered nachos as an appetizer, they had to be the worst nachos I ever had (picture attached). AND Ketchup salsa... ew. The pizza was a 6.5/10 and was $20. Just go to dominoes tbh.

Super disappointing visit. The wait staff was unfriendly and not very attentive (few other customers). The building was cold, and every time the door was opened any heat inside escaped. Now to the food. Our simple sausage pizza came with "extra cheese" per the waitress. I don't know if it was a new pizza maker or a new recipe, but but it was soup. Definitely not the George's I grew up on, and simply the worst pizza I've had.

My family has been enjoying George's Pizza for as long as I can remember. Thin crust only, nice crunch to it and a large assortment of topping to choose from. There Gondola sandwich is also a huge hit with friends and family. I hope you all enjoy this review.

Apparently there was some big schisim between George's and Steve's pizza... at least that's how the story goes. When I last lived in Austin I was 5 years old so I can't say for sure. Luckily I got the chance to try 'the original Austin pizza place', this past week. The crust was super thin, and the pizzas were good for sharing, size-wise. But the sauce just didn't really do it for me... whether it just wasn't too flavorful or there wasn't enough of it, I can't say. Still, it was tasty enough that I split a pizza with Bill. They also have cute little glasses of MGD, or High Life... I can't remember (which shows those aren't my typical beers of choice). But they were just too precious not to get one - in other news I think that's the first time I've used the term 'precious' to describe a beer.As for the nachos... that was a bit confusing. Their menu includes: Nachos with Salsa, Nachos with Cheese, Nachos with Jalapenos, Nachos with Beef, etc. This led me to ask... 'nachos with cheese? don't all nachos have cheese by definition?'There was some discussion at our table about whether there was such a thing as a 'nacho chip', but it became apparent that this was kind of an 'a la carte' nacho situation. We ordered nachos with beef, salsa, jalapenos and cheese... and everything showed up on the side in tiny bowls. Weird.I could comment on the decor, which included a selection of random items, but why spoil the fun... George's would be a recommended stop for an interested Yelper in Austin but if I were in town again I'd have to hit up Steve's so I could compare.Bonus, their dining room is open as late as they deliver: 1am! Score!

My wife' is from Austin and for more than the past thirty years or so, no visit has been complete without a stop at George's.Never again. There's a new owner and judging from recent reviews here, on Yelp and elsewhere, everything has been on a downhill slide. We went there this evening. Server got our soft drink order wrong. Well, stuff happens. But after almost an hour, everyone else in our family group had gotten and eaten their pizza and the table next to us who came in substantially later had also gotten theirs.Uh, their pizza was ours., Our table had three or four pizzas. Kind of difficult for waitstaff not to notice that one pizza was missing and three people had no food in front of them. They finally got us a mess . . . I mean a round thing with some tomato sauce, gooey cheese and bits of sausage, Definitely not the delicious, baked to perfection pizza we had grown accustomed to over the decades. We ate this soggy garbage because it was getting late and we were tired. Frankly, a frozen pizza would have been better. They told us there would be no charge because of the foul-up. Uh, what they meant was there would be no charge for the lousy pizza - everything else they charged for. You'd think the manager - we're told his parents own the place - would offer an apology. Nope. He just explained that it was fair to charge us for our soft drinks and salad. No apology at all. (And a guy making your pizza who has a long, somewhat unkempt beard with no net is not inspiring.)It's over for me and George's. Lousy service. Lousy pizza. It was great for more than 30 years, but it stinks now.

Bar none, best taco pizza in the world! Crust is some of the best in the business. New owners as of early 2016, same great food I've had the last 18 years. In fact, the new owner ran outside to give me my glasses I left on the table. Awesome dude, awesome staff, same great food since 1958. Love it!

Definitely love George's and always make it appoint to visit when I'm home visiting. BUT I will never come around if Dewight is around. My husband, my brother, friend, and myself came in with my husband's service dog. Not only did he scream to get her out of here. (Who also was in his arms) He was completely rude and yelling. As we presented the Paperwork he looked at the paperwork rolled his eyes and said whatever. As we walk to our table he said " fucking stupid" REALLY. Not to mention he has a full beard and no hair net over it. HE MAKES PIZZAS. I definitely will be calling the owner who we personally know. Love the food and people. But don't ever let him touch your food without washing his hands and no hairnets. Oh and tells my brother who works there that if he requests days off he can't be here. My husband who's in the service came home and everyone is okay with his brother taking days off. He had our server tell him and not dewight who is a manager.

This is a tale of two pizzas. We had perhaps the worst taco pizza we've ever had. The sauce was sweet for our taste, there was little cheese and it was not even served with sour cream. However, the house special more than made up for it. That was a great pizza with balanced flavor and a nice crust. The homemade sausage was fantastic. The atmosphere is ordinary small town pizzeria, but the service was prompt and friendly. There is competition in town, but this place can compete.

Very bad. Took at least an hour for our food. My dad is diabetic so he has to eat at least every 2 hours. Once we got our food, it wasn't how we ordered it, and it was at least 30 minutes to get the correct order. With 1 hr 30 minutes at the restaurant we finally got to eat. The food was very disappointing and the pizza was poorly made.
