Geek Haven Coffee

Taking a self guided downtown walking tour of Hastings I certainly kept my eye out for a local coffee place and found Geek Haven. I am not sure how the 'geek' name fits in as we would enter through a book store to an otherwise well kept neat coffee shop with a large seating area inside. Let's give them credit for a creative name that's creates discussion.A wall board menu of the usual drink choices, a pastry case and a small selection of wrap sandwiches premade, but very fresh. I had the only choice with meat which was turkey pesto. There are a few tables outside for quiet contemplation.

The espresso was drinkable. Cookie was excellent. Geekiness was supreme! I watched some yutes play D&D and bought a Godzilla v mechaGodzilla comic. the coffee and snack geek told me he wasn't sure if the new gOdzilla minus one was the best one on first viewing because of recent view bias but after 3 times at the theater he is sure. It is the best one ever. I almost whipped out my x-ray crystallographer membership card but didn't want him to get overexcited if I brought up the particle accelerator. I left quietly without so much as a Spock V on my part

I really *needed* a coffee this morning before the bicycle ride....a local recommended this spot. Thank you! The service was wonderful! Thank you to the barista who helped me navigate their coffee selections (remember-I'm not awake yet) without having an attitude! My Legendary Latte (Lavender Vanilla Latte) was perfection: caffeine, not too sweet, and perfectly brewed!

Cute little coffee shop inside the game store in downtown Hastings, from Italian sodas, regular coffee, lattes and pastries this place knocks it out of the park with their quality items. They even have a punch card! Friendly quick service and they really know their repeat guests just by seeing how they interacted with other customers before and after I. Stop on by this place, grab a drink and check out their board games! You'll be able to find something for everyone at the game store side!

Friendly staff and amazing drinks! My favorite drink is the London Fog. The atmosphere is chill and it's in the perfect location.

Loved this quirky coffee/game shop! Best coffee mocha we have had lately. Might just have to have a black coffee to taste that undiluted coffee flavor. We had raspberry scone with white chocolate and a gluten free brownie. Baked goods come from a Northfield bakery so was afraid they might be stale. But no...brownie was surprisingly moist and delicious as other gluten free ones I have had were dry. Scone so good we got two to go. Just browsing the old timey board games was a treat and you can pull one out to play. Staff are great young people, a real treat for us old folks. Also go around the corner to the old timey candy store for another trip down memory lane... real moon pies!

Wow! I took a wrong turn between Minnesota and Wisconsin and ended up here. It's a counter at the Level Up Toy Store. Such a friendly person. Yummy drinks. Very delicious wraps. Excited to find this one. Would love to stop another time if I come this way again.
