We came here after dinner at Porzana. I ho-hum groan at the speakeasy concept. At least this place isn't in the back of a bodega, with a secret buzzer and requires a reservation code, given only by a secret email address, etc.You just walk in the entrance under the sign and seating is first come first serve. How nice.I was happily surprised that around 7pm, this place was buzzing. We had to wait a few mins to get a seat. Dark and moody, lots of vibrant conversations, loud music, it was great to see. It reminded me a little of NYC.We had a couple drinks and our server was friendly and brisk - here, gone, back with drinks in a flash. I really like this place.

Awesome vibe, friendly staff, super cool concepts, come for the drinks. I got the Miami Girl #2 and it was exactly what I wanted - tasted like juice! Also got a hand roll, fries, and popcorn chicken. I would skip the hand rolls - it wasn't my favorite. The ice cream was great!! Highly recommend. Great vibes, gets busy at night. Better to arrive earlier.

I visited Flora Room for a date night with my husband and what. a. vibe. This speakeasy style bar located in the back alley behind Porzana is so aesthetic!I've heard Flora Room can get busy but when we visited there was no wait and plenty of tables to choose from (~7:30pm). I loved that it was seat yourself. We sat at the bar and a bartender promptly welcomed us and got us water. In terms of the menu, we aren't sophisticated cocktail drinkers so I wish we would have asked the bartender what to order based on what we typically go for in a cocktail -- next time we'll ask! I ordered the Valentina and my husband ordered the Salacia. We both preferred the Salacia over the Valentina. The service was quick and the bartender was very friendly. Overall, this is a perfect spot for a romantic date night and I look forward to visiting again and trying their food!

Went here for a birthday celebration on a Saturday night and it was crazy busy. We got there early to secure a table which we ended up needing to put together multiple tables. Shorty after the doors open the place was filled. We ended up with about a party of 10 or so. We were served at our table but with it being so crowded it looked like it's a walk-up bar style otherwise. We ended up ordering a few rounds of drinks and food. I ordered the Miami Girl & Alsace (I think) for drinks and popcorn chicken & fries for food. The drinks were good and presented well. The food was also good but I felt like the chicken was a bit over-seasoned and salty. Overall I'm glad I got to experience the Flora Room, not sure I'd be back just because it's so busy but it's a cool place!Parking was a bit rough in the area but they do have valet which is nice.

Flora Room is located beneath Porzana and the speakeasy entrance is in the cul-de-sac/dead-end of the block and down the stairs. The provide valet parking if you're unable to find parking on your own and there is a parking ramp across the street.Upon entrance, you're greeted by the guy who checks identification. I was celebrating my birthday and had read reviews on Yelp prior that let me know they DO NOT take reservations. I had a party of 10 and we were all seated, with top-tier seats might I add, because we all arrived at 5pm promptly, which is their opening time.Food and drinks were good. Chicken nuggets and fries were low-key delish. i've never wanted to take fries home before... and we ALL took our fries home. LOLThe decor and ambiance is fabulous and lush. Some ppl are dressed in normal MN style: jeans and nice top, and others came with their A-game. You never know in MN. With that said, I don't know if they have a dresscode. My server was great and the overall customer service and experience was great. I'd definitely come again with a smaller more intimate party.

Wow can you say details?? The ambience in here makes you feel like you transported somewhere moody and magical. From the plants to the candles to the cute sketches of each drink in the menu... just beautiful I got a NA drink the Enzo which felt like a mimosa's fancy cousin. I did feel $10 was a teeny bit steep for NA but hey it's 2024 what else is new? My husband got the old fashioned which was great and we split some delicious fries. Live this place. We did come on a Saturday at 5:30 ( opens at 5) and it was packed. Also, no street parking was available anywhere near it so we had to pay $12 for a garage...boo!

Flora Room is the newest speakeasy although some liken it to a cocktail lounge. Its located in the North Loop beneath Porzana's Argentinian steakhouse. Side street parking can be limited however there's valet & a parking ramp across the street. Every great speakeasy is a bit incognito. You can find the valet on the right side of the building, follow the ramp and continue to the back entrance. We arrived at 5:10pm and the place was already packed! Its the perfect spot for a date, solo, or girls/ fellas night out with it's dimly lit atmosphere with a mirrored backdrop at the bar. The florescent lit plant atrium is lined with top tables that seat up to 3 people. The coveted sage-green velour booths were snug for four of us, however we were comfortable. There is also seating down the middle, between the bar and atrium which is cozy. The swanky indoor atrium feel is what makes it a vibe along with the music and service. As self-proclaimed high-low girl, Flora's menu didn't disappoint. Food is served up until 12am and they offer shareable apps and a variety of cocktails.Food/Drinks 5/5 Alsace $19 | The Tuco Tuco $16 | Popcorn chicken $13 | French fries $9Chicken has a parmesan season/ fries we were shocked tbh. Even cold they were unmatched! Reminds me of Parlour fries! The star of the night: Not Fried Chicken Ice Cream $12 (vanilla, white chocolate, corn flakes). The chef included a Kit Kat in the middle for fun, it's flaky texture was savory while not being too sweet! Total: $80 (including the tip)The service was great the first time around with bartender being attentive and helpful with suggestions. Our second time was great then we switched booths where my friend didn't have such a great experience with the waitress when she requested a straw however she redeemed herself with shots for the table, a meeting of the minds and everything was smooth sailing moving forward. Flora is a vibe, if you're planning a trip, arrive early!

The ambiance here is unmatched the playlist is great. It's a dimmed cocktail speakeasy kinda vibe. I ordered every cocktail on the menu my favorite one was the ALSACE which had peruvian agave, gewurtztraminer, lychee, lemon, grapeseed oil, egg white, orange & rose blossom. It was sooo good. It was late night so they didn't have food available anymore but I will definitely be coming back to sample the small bites menu for sure!

This place has been on my bucket list since it opened, and I finally made it over with a gal pal for a Monday night cocktail! HIDDEN ENTRY: Flora Room is located beneath Porzana - you'll want to go to Porzana, walk along N 2nd Ave, and back behind it you'll take the staircase down. You'll see a light above a door next to the dumpster (yes, really) and enter this speakeasy space from there!AMBIANCE: 5/5This is the star of the show for sure. Dark, moody, botanical, and green with live plants - the decoration and vibe is immaculate. So cozy and great for date night or evening night caps!We were the first to arrive on a Monday night, so had our pick of seats - I highly recommend a half-circle booth. They have bar seating and 2- and 4-tops in the middle. You can even enter the glass space where plants hang along the back wall and find a few high-top tables in there as well.DRINKS: 5/5The cocktails are very playful and eclectic. I LOVE that the specialty drink menu has hand drawings of what the cocktails look like and have in them - I always want to see what they look like before ordering! I had to go with the Alsace because I'd seen awesome pics of it, but we had a hard time choosing. Alsace was amazing - and my friend enjoyed her cocktails, too!SERVICE: 3/5This was a surprise - for such a tailored experience, the service was confusing. We had 3-4 different servers throughout our time there - and inconsistent periods of time would pass between getting checked in on so we had to flag someone down to order food and another round of drinks. It felt so strange that we didn't have an assigned server, and service was very abrupt. FOOD: 4/5We ordered the fries and two handrolls - we loved the fries, and the handrolls were really good! They were a bit smaller than I expected, but still fun and fresh. Their food menu is pretty limited, which I don't mind, but wish they had more easy apps/shareables for folks like us just wanting to sip cocktails and snack on something.PRICE: 4/5Oof, those prices are steep. One of the cocktails is $30, and most of them are in the $18-$24 range. Each of our small handrolls were $9. The cocktails were so cool, but it felt cost-prohibitive to have more than one during our visit. It was fun to come and experience it, but not sure I'd be back for anything other than a celebratory single cocktail.
