The food was authentic! I haven't had pasole that was so flavorful, and it comes with a side which took me by surprise. The salsa had a good kick and the chips were a great crunch! 10/10 recommend.

El Aguila is located in a pocket of residential neighborhoods. If you are looking for an aesthetically pleasing place to have a meal, this is not the place. Parking is best behind the building! The chips and salsa were lack luster. The food, however, makes up for the rest of the ambiance. The enchiladas were packed with flavor and came out quick! The pricing is a little high compared to other mexican restaurants in the area. Despite one server, the service was very good. Overall, if you are in the area, it will suffice as a decent meal out.

I stopped by El Aguila on a Wednesday night craving some tacos! There was no one else in the restaurant when we arrived so we were able to choose our own seats. The restaurant was clean with minimal decorations. There were lots of options on the menu and just about everything ranged from $16-$30 for a dish. In addition, they had options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Due to the fact that we were the only people in the restaurant we were served quickly and immediately received chips & salsa. I ordered the chicken torta and my boyfriend ordered the 3 tacos. His tacos ended up looking more like mini enchiladas but they were delicious and you could tell the tortillas were home made. My torta as amazing, it was dripping with sauce and full of flavor. I want to come back and try more on the menu.

I am SO happy there is a Latin restaurant a couple blocks down from my house! I had a taco during the state fair, but I wasn't aware they actually occupy the space they were standing in front of. We ordered take-out, they don't advertise take out anywhere so if you didn't know, now you do. Cute space, very minimalistic and clean. We got home, and the food is SO good! I usually only order steak, but I now love the pork tacos. Definitely a must try! They also do breakfast in the morning, which I think is a really good idea because there is nothing like that in the immediate area. They have two flat screens that play kids movies for the kids that are brought in. They even have chicken tenders and hamburgers and fries for the ones that don't like Latin food. Highly recommend.

I ordered the #29 Enchiladas Rojas Y Verdes and chose the verde sauce and al pastor. This plate comes with 4 enchiladas and beans and rice. The meat came on the outside of the enchiladas (cheese and onion was inside) which was a surprise to me but there was a good amount of it and it was tasty. The pastor was really flavorful and had a decent amount of spice as did both of the hot sauces they brought out with the meal. Definitely will be back to try other items from the menu.Updating to say that I went back for the El Pastor tacos lunch special and really enjoyed it! $9 for 3 tacos is a great price and I will definitely get this regularly. They don't currently have any other lunch specials but I would love to see more lunch-priced options in the future.

This is my favorite taco place in St Paul. The workers are always friendly, the food is delicious, prices are reasonable, AND they give free chips and salsa . I went for the first time about 6 weeks ago and have been back several times already!

We were in from out of town and looking for a Mexican-American restaurant. The flavor of the food was excellent, but the presentation was not what we expected. All dishes came out in a sandwich form. Would be good for "to-go" meals. The staff was lacking and what staff there was didn't speak good English. I'd probably not go again as a sit down place with friends

Ambience isn't much to speak of. They really need some ambient music in there. Service is friendly and moderate pace. Their complementary chips and salsa are meh.But the food... The food!!Best sopes I have ever had. Also the best pupusas. I love Manana (restaurant on E 7th St) and have been a huuuge fan of Manana's pupusas for many years so this is hard to say, but... I think El Aguila makes even better pupusas!
