Eau Claire Ale House

DEEP. FRIED. BACON.Need I say more? No, I could stop here and be content with my review.However, just to round this out. The burgers are cooked pretty close to your liking, even if you ask for rare...which I find to be rare in the Midwest, so mos def a plus. There is also a pretty solid assortment of brews to choose from, as one would expect at an ale house.Also, even on a random weekday night, the day or so before Thanksgiving to be precise, we received decent service.Definitely worth checking out... if not just for the glorious DFB.

We are on a cross country trip and ended up at a hotel near by - so glad we stopped in. Ambiance is casual and bar vibes. Local spot that many people may pass by but the server/bartender was so friendly.. Talked to us all about the area and local beers! Wouldn't get the chicken wrap again, a little boring but otherwise everything was great and we are happy to have found this little bar.

Was in Eau Claire for work and found the Ale House. Great beer selection, awesome prices and the bartender was a cool guy who told us all the spots to check out in Eau Claire. We will visit again the next time we go there.

Saturday night and we wanted prime rib so thought we'd try the Ale House. We've never been here for prime rib. Needless to say we won't be back to this place. Salad was good. Potatoes were good. But the medium rare prime rib we ordered was not. It was very dry and tough. Just looking at them you could see these were not up to par. I honestly can't believe they even severed us this. We let our waitress know our disappointment and she apologized but never offered a replacement or another menu item. We had only taken a few bites and didn't finish our meals. Several minutes later we get the bill and it's the full amount. Any reputable restaurant would have given some discount for a bad experience. When I asked our nice waitress about this she said her manager wouldn't take any off the bill. The manager didn't come talk about our experience or look at the food first hand but just sent the waitress out to deal with it. To me this is very poor leadership and a "manager" that doesn't support his staff. It's very apparent he doesn't care about his customers that come spend their money at this establishment. To the nice young lady that waited on us I'd recommend getting a job somewhere that leadership will have your back.

Unfortunately, this restaurant has gone down hill from a few years ago. Service is lacking...even when you are the only table in the place. I used to like their garlic parmesan fries when they were prepared with an oil base coating infused with real minced garlic and generously sprinkled with parmesan cheese. Currently, they are now prepared with a buttery looking sauce that looks like it was squirted from a bottle and made to taste like garlic. Hardly any real garlic present, if any. Not to mention there was no parmesan sprinkling what so ever.The Philly sandwich was good...just a bit skimping on the steak portions. The grilled onion/pepper to steak ratio favored the former.On this most recent visit the fountain soda was FLAT...zero carbonation!

my wife and I decided to try their Saturday prime rib special since CC we were in town. the pub is clean the staff was friendly and the beer was cold. first off menu says king or queen cut( 4 oz difference ) soup or salad a side AND dessert. well we got a choice of a side that was it, then the meat or what ever it was. it was cold as we ordered it medium rare. zero flavor and the grease/fat was disgusting. I was picking chunks of grease out of my teeth. was able to eat about a 1/4 of it my wife s but less. it was evide that this is food service food not fresh made. so try a burger or maybe the fish but beware of this special. litterally left CC a bad taste in my mouth. we shan't return.

To start: you stick to the floor, napkins balancing table, table sticky, no napkins in napkins holder, pop was flat, server spent most of time talking to a frirnd at the bar, also server wore shirt advertising another bar. Used to think this was a bit upscale. Totally not. Don't even ask about the food.

Service is fine & fish fry was disappointing - but the worst thing was how dirty the place is. Starting with the front doors-it appears they've never been cleaned & the glass on the doors are filthy. The bathrooms were very gross - dirty toilets- was afraid to sit down. While there, 2 times menus were accidentally dropped on the floor and each time the waitresses picked them up and put them with the other menus without cleaning them first. Gross! All windows were very dirty. The irony of it all is a window cleaner advertises on their tables. Never returning.

Terrible wait staff.. had to remind the waitor multiple times about our food, drinks and yes even the bill. The burger was good.Went on a Wednesday special was wingsBURNT. Drinks were good.

Please disregard most of the bad reviews, they almost got me to not go here and that is a shame. Food was amazing, staff was so friendly, really great experience for a random bar
