Ordered carry out. Great food. Thought price was off from menu online but it is what it is. Very friendly and quick with order.

I've been coming to Eastern Chinese Restaurant ever since it opened when I was in high school, and I've never had a bad experience.Ladysmith benefits from having a place like this, a clean and well-kept buffet, with warm entrees and friendly service.The buffet is not large by any means, but there are your general staples of any buffet, along with several dishes that change depending on the day of the week.The food is fairly priced, and you won't leave hungry!

For small town Ladysmith, it's the best chinese food around. The sesame chicken is our favorite dish, as well as the shimp lo mein. Their steamed dumplings are a must! The shrimp egg rolls are top notch too. Their fried rice, I wouldn't say is actual "fried rice". There's no eggs or soy sauce in there so I'm not too sure why they call it that, it's yellow.. just be aware of that one. The rice was disappointing at first because of that, but it's still good and the pork fried rice has good amounts of meat chunks in it. Their chow mein, however.. I wouldn't recommend! There's no noodles in that dish at all. It's literally only celery and onions in some kinda sauce. I was expecting noodles because that's what chow mein.. usually is. Soo I don't waist your time on that dish.

I don't give five stars to this restaurant lightly. They certainly deserve it. Eastern Chinese is truly a treasure of a restaurant in an unassuming little building on Highway 8 in the lovely town of Ladysmith. As with all restaurants, three aspects either make or break the experience: the prices, the service, and the food. Eastern Chinese excels at all three. As far as the prices go, they are very reasonable. For a dinner with more than enough food, one only needs to spend about $8 for a combination platter which comes with the entree, an egg roll, and fried rice. All of the single dishes are well-priced and the appetizers are as well. The service is great. We ordered over the phone and picked it up, so the extent to which we experienced the service was minimal, however the staff is very kind and friendly. They're also efficient at what they do. Our order was ready in 20 minutes. The food is amazing! Truly, the residents of Ladysmith are blessed to have such a great restaurant in their town. I ordered General Tso's chicken (I also asked for it to be extra spicy) and it was so good! It was flavorful and cooked perfectly. It came with a few broccoli florets as well as the egg roll and fried rice. The amount of heat was just right!This is truly a restaurant we wish we had in the Twin Cities and we'll make sure that we stop by if ever we're remotely close.

Got there at 11am buffet was not ready. No big deal, everyone runs late occasionally. Right as they were done laying the food out a large group of women and children walked in and grabbed to go boxes. When I stood up to get a plate I was told to "sit and wait" by an employee. I had to wait until this group filled their boxes and exited ( without paying) then I was allowed to help myself to whatever they left. I will not go back.

The buffet was not the greatest, had the bare basic selection. About 15 items to choose from for the main selections. 3 different dessert. All this for around $14 per person with drinks. The food was okay, can mark this place off as a place we have tried. We don't recommend. if you do come to this location, bring cash, they don't take checks (no surprise there), and they charge 5% on credit card.

This place has definitely declined in recent years. Very small buffet, noisy and food had obviously been there for a long time. Chicken wings, French fries, and meatballs. I'd have liked more Asian food. Owner is currently vacuuming under my feet!

Wonder surprise in a small town. The buffet is excellent. Everything hot, fresh, well prepared and well presented. It is a family run business and it shows in the quality and pride. Great variety of choices in a small town. It's one of the best overall Chinese buffets I've had. I highly recommend it.

The best Chicken Chop Suey I've ever had. They give a great portion too. Will heat up the rest tomorrow and enjoy it all over again.
