So, in my 60's I'm still learning that I can't wear white. During our most recent visit to Northfield, my wife and I stopped at the Hideaway for a cup of coffee. I didn't put the lid on properly and, 30 seconds later, promptly spilled coffee on the nearly new, white polo shirt I had just put on about an hour before. Grrrrr.Took it down the street to Dufour's and they were wonderful. They took it in on Saturday morning and pre-soaked it over the weekend, then washed and dried it Monday morning and had it ready for pickup by 10 AM - all for less than $5.00.I can't say enough good things about these folks. Given how busy the store is, it would appear that lots of other people are satisfied, too.

Took some short curtains there for cleaning. They were NOT pleated but the woman behind the counter charged me for pleats by counting folds where the curtain hooks had been inserted. Paid over $100 to have four 3x4 pieces of material dry cleaned.

We have gone to Dufours for 12+ years, my husband has his work shirts laundered and pressed weekly, and we do our general cleaning there, including Scandanavian sweaters, suit coats, formal wear, upholstery, etc. We have always had fast service, everything has always been as it should be, and nothing has ever been lost (unlike our old cleaner in the cities!). I was just looking for the phone number online to ask a question when I saw this review page and thought I'd add my two cents! My questions is answered, I'm glad to hear they accept the new Green Garmento reusable garment bags so we'll be able to save a lot of plastic from now on!

They wrote on all of my husband's button-down shirts with a Sharpie!!! Not even on the shirt tag, but on the actual fabric of the shirt, on the lower part of the shirt. They wrote the first two letters of our last name on EVERY SHIRT, with permanent black. I suppose somehow they thought it would be okay because that part of the shirt is often tucked in? Or something? Totally unacceptable and shows very questionable judgement. What if you take your vintage dress or family heirloom to Dufours and they write on it with a Sharpie? Anyway, we now go down the street to the place just a couple blicks south on Division, and they are much more professional. Actually, they were mortified when I showed them what the previous dry cleaner had done to the shirts!
