Dorothy Ann Bakery

I had a particularly complex cake decor request and they nailed it. I wanted a chantilly cake but with buttercream frosting and easy on the frosting. The challenging part being I wanted all the decor in frosting instead of laser printed and I wanted to capture a lot of different scenes for an 80th birthday. I had a meeting with a staff member to go over everything and the owner, Joan, came out to join us and pitched her own ideas and solutions based on her experiences and it was a great colab of ideas. It turns out she even decorated the cake herself because after meeting with me and seeing and hearing my ideas, she had a vision of what I wanted.Everyone at the Birthday event oooo'd and ahhhh'd over the cake and asked me where I had it done. It tasted perfect and the birthday guy was really happy with the buttercream frosting and he's typically not a huge frosting guy. In fact our whole family is not huge on frosting. This was the first cake that not one of us removed any of the frosting to eat it. It was perfect. The decor even had the kitchen of the restaurant we went to talking and the staff was asking where we got the cake.Everyone was so awed by the decor and taste that it was the hit of the event. The friendly staff and care of the owner on top of that has won myself and family over.I would HIGHLY recommend using Dorothy Ann Bakery for your next cake event.Their deli food is also fantastic and an employee named Michelle suggested the idea of using their cinnamon bread for French Toast at my Brunch the following day. It was so so so good. Absolutely a great idea that everyone enjoyed again and I would also recommend.Also, the price of the cake was lower than I would have expected for the taste, size, and decor requested. Really great prices.

Dorothy Ann bakery is my favorite place for special occasion donuts! They always have fun themed baked goods for different seasons and holidays. The staff is always super helpful and friendly. It doesn't look like much from the outside but is very much worth a stop in! Great prices and delicious treats!

This busy bakery is in an odd location, but it works. The staff are snarky, in a good way, and very efficient in serving people. There were seasonal cookies (Valentine's day) displayed throughout the restaurant. The ambiance was that of a bakery and small sit down restaurant. The breakfast panini was delicious and large. Donuts were great! Valentine cookie was just okay. It had a stale texture and bad aftertaste to it. All in all it was a cute little spot.

Have always been a fan of Dorthy Ann Bakery. While the location is not necessarily on the beaten path it is back in an industrial area it's worth a stop. They have donuts, cakes, cookies, breads and more. The staff is always very friendly and quick to greet you when you walk in. This visit was for cookies and cake for a birthday party. This made the dessert bar we had! My favorite cake is almond cake with raspberry filling. The sugar cookies were good. I also grabbed some donuts this trip but they were gone before I could snap a photo.

Always amazing what you find in a strip mall! Dorothy Ann's has a wonderful selection and friendly staff. Best part is that they also have gluten free items. There is a risk of contamination, but it's a nice option for those who are able to take the risk.

I grew up in a small town with a bakery, and Dorothy Ann totally reminds me of that bakery. All of their baked goods are wonderful. Their cakes and breads and buns are amazing their seasonal products like they're soda bread St. Patrick's Day is really good. Their breakfasts are also really good Service is always friendly. Store is nice for eating in or taking out.

I haven't tasted the donuts yet, but I had to leave a review for the outstanding customer service from Donna. She advocated for the business so well that I had to ask if she owned it, which she did not. I hope the owner treats her right! As my girlfriend put it, that's the kind of Minnesota nice we like.

Nice bakery. They celebrate holidays here including Mardi Gras. Best place in the Twin Cities for King Cakes. Not as good as New Orleans but still very good and lots of filling choices.Offerings also include Paczki (Polish filled donuts) that are available on Fridays and Saturdays. Good cupcake selection and some gluten free items.Solid bakery - much better than a grocery store.Online ordering is available.

I've never had a good experience here unfortunately. My mom got their donuts and cupcakes recently. The donuts were not what I like. I know most ppl like those airy donuts but I don't. Bc I grew up eating Maplewood bakery and they have an old world bakery items with density and good flavor. The Dorothy donuts lacked flavor in my opinion. Nothing to write home about. The cupcakes were dry. We won't be returning. I'll drive to my favorite bakery next time even though it's 15 mins away it's worth it.
