Don Ramon Restaurante Mexicano

Been coming here regularly for about a year and have always had a great experience with the food, staff, and restaurant! We recently went on a busy Friday night, but were seated right away and our food came out incredibly fast! The dinner portions are large so we usually end up splitting so we have room for the jumbo margaritas & chips/salsa! Be sure to go during their Happy Hour! They have great deals on drinks and apps!

Walked in to this restaurant for dinner and was greeted and seated immediately. Our waitress was kind and courteous, checking in regularly about menu items and answered any questions. The environment was calm and welcoming even though it was pretty busy with customers.Went in to try some street tacos and added a Birria consommé. Everything was delicious, but the Birria consommé was the star of this meal! Definitely recommend ordering!

When I moved to Minnesota from Texas there were very few Mexican restaurants. Since Tex Mex was a staple of my diet I was deprived. Now there are many Mexican styled eateries in Twin Cities and in the upper Midwest. Some are good and many are mediocre. I would rate Don. Ramon as one of the better Tex Mex restaurants I have dined at recently. The ambience is sort of industrial and the noise level is pretty high. Chips were fresh salsa had a nice taste but could have used a little more heat but hey we are in MN. I love refried beans and rice. These were very good - often this isn't the case. The menu is extensive. I was with a large group and we ordered many different items and everyone seemed happy. Frankly the spices were a little weak and the food lacked flavors I associate with good Tex Mex but I grew up in Austin TX so probably my expectations for Comida Mexicano are unrealistic for the upper Midwest. Service was good. Our server Adolfo did an excellent job. All our orders arrived more or less simultaneously and they got everything right. This can be a challenge for large groups. Servings were large and prices reasonable. I will definitely return. PS Fajitas seem to be served sizzling as they should be!

There is a parking lot connected to the restaurant. We arrived while the happy hour options were still available. I had the lime margarita and my bf had a beer. I ordered the hh quesadilla and my bf ordered the burrito california. We were surprised how quickly everything arrived. Not only was it fast, but the food was delicious! The staff was very friendly. I would recommend this place for date night or getting together with friends.

We had a great time at Don Ramon tonight for dinner!The staff were very friendly, and our server William and the manager on duty were incredibly welcoming and friendly.We had two different versions of their Street Burritos (1 chicken and 1 barilla), both were sensational!We will definitely be back often!

I should have taken my clue from the name because the Street Tacos were the best thing about this order. I had the chicken tacos which were large and packed with veggies, including plentiful onions and cilantro. They came with salsa roja and salsa verde, both of which were tasty. The refried beans were pretty good, the chips crisp and plentiful, but the queso blanco was thin and bland. Quite disappointing. However, the worst part of the meal was the one I was most excited about, the shrimp ceviche. A true ceviche consists of raw seafood marinated in citrus, onions, and peppers. The citrus cooks the seafood rendering it flavorful and tender. This dish was cooked shrimp tossed in pico de gallo and was simply inedible. The shrimp was chewy and bland and not even a squeeze of lime could save it. What a shame. Order the street tacos and you won't be disappointed!

It was very good. We ordered our meal to go. They provided many hot sauces and chips. The building and bar inside were very large.

Best carne asada tacos in town! And it is every time we go, it is just as good as the first, which is awesome. The people are extremely nice and there is an amazing salsa bar. Don't let the parking scare you they share with other restaurants and this place is worth it.

Food was amazing and great service, celebrated a birthday here and I would recommend this restaurant.

Amazing food, drinks, and service! Got a group of 7 seated really quickly on a very busy night. Highly recommend any of the burritos, but my personal favorite is the Viking Burrito. Any of the birria dishes are delicious as well!
