Dalles House Motel

I don't get the bad reviews.We stay here frequently and love this place.They owners a very kind and helpful, as are every staff member we've met.Always a nice fresh free continental breakfast.Room is always neat as a pin.Swimming pool is great and nice sauna too.Convenient to Interstate Park and everything the friendly towns of St. Croix Falls/Taylor's Falls have to offer.Excellent restaurant and bar right next door too.Stay here, you won't be sorry.

Not only did I get sick from staying here but the carpet was extremely dirty and the bathroom had no toilet paper. The rooms are extremely small and the rate was over 60 dollars a night even on a week night. I wouldn't stay here again Nor recommend it. You could pay an extra ten dollars and stay literally anyway else and have way cleaner and larger rooms.

Stayed here for a triathlon just across the border in Chisago, MN. For the cost, even while cheap, you still should expect better. Half of the lights and outlets in our room didn't work. The toliet paper had obviously not been replaced since the previous room tenant. It was really low and you could just tell it had been ripped by another user. Gross. There was hair from the previous user of the room still all over the shower, shaved hair on the walls.Overall a poor room, will not be returning and will be warning others of this place.

Cheap and dirty, what else can I say. We drank lots of alcohol to make the stay tolerable. The location was good however, and I'm happy we were able to find an available room since everything was booked up.

If you're looking for four or five star lodging in St. Croix Falls, you're about 75 miles in the wrong direction. In fact, lodging choices here are limited. There's a Holiday Inn Expre$$ up the hill, but if you just want a place to sleep, this is an economical alternative.The Dalles House is a large motel, an older property that looks like it was a luxurious place in its day. It's showing its age, with paint scrapes here and there but it has been updated and modernized where it counts.My room was comfortable, with a hi def TV, a refrigerator, microwave, a desk, a seating area and a large, updated bath area. The lobby is dark and moody, with wood paneling and a beautiful stone mantle around a large fireplace. Otherwise, the lobby seems to be showing it's age. There is a minimal complementary breakfast.There is a pool that I did not use. It appears it was a large, outdoor pool that was enclosed. There is a sauna but no whirlpool.I'm giving the property three stars, it's probably more like two and a half, but I would stay here again if I came back to the area. It's fine for what it is, a good place to sleep when traveling.

At 54ys old I have never stayed in such a shit whole place in my life they really had milk house heaters to keep us warm in -6 degrees we left and told them to keep the money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this place was awful, sheets were stained crumbs in the bed.. the smoke detector was half attached to the ceiling. Upon check out lady yelled at me in-front of my kid because I asked how to get the safety deposit back and apparently threw the room key at her( was holding my child and a bag so I dropped it on the counter). worst motel/hotel I've ever stayed in.. will never be staying again. still haven't received safety deposit and we stayed from 9pm to 6am. Online prices are a lie as well was told 86$ for two queen beds turned into 120$ plus a 60$ saftey deposit.

This place was absolutely terrible Will never even think about staying here again two out of the five lights in the room worked. There was no warm water at all. The staff was rude and they did it honor their Internet price also to top it off the doorhandle on the bathroom was broken so I couldn't even lock or shut the door for $90 a night I expected way more....

This is the worst place I have ever stayed! The staff was rude, not to mention that I believed I was scammed for the price hike. I reserved online but called about an ADA room. The price quotes on the phone was more than the internet price, so I told her I would book online. When I got there, magically, there was not a reservation even though I had a confirmation! She told me to check my email, and after the confirmation email the was a cancelled email. She told me that I should have accepted her price on the phone! They cancelled my reservation so that when I got there I would have to pay more! Illegal, I believe! The room was terrible, no hot water, locked like a crack hotel!!The worst place I've stayed on this trip, and that includes sleeping in my car at Walmart parking lot!!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS RUDE DISGUSTING PLACE!!!! Also took a deposit in case of damage. If it is not returned I will post again and seek legal action!! Really rude staff or owner!!!

I don't normally write reviews, but this was one of the worst hotels that we have ever stayed in. From the start it was obvious this was less than a no-frills hotel. We had the following issues:1) tiny rooms with cracked windows and no insulation. 2) there were no shelves or racks in the bathroom to store any towels, toilet paper or anything3) we never received any room service during our stay4) The breakfast area consisted of one bagel and two donuts and an empty pitcher of orange juice, that tasted more like orange tang. 5) no employees were ever wearing their mask correctly or even at all most of the time6) we awoke Sunday to screaming in the hallway by the employees debating whether to clean her room or shovel the snow7) it's just disgusting when you see bugs in your room. 8) The next-door restaurant served us horrible food with no flavor. This hotel is one of the biggest rip offs we have ever stayed at, and we have extensive travel throughout the United States and internationally. I can only hope to help other travelers to avoid this shit hole.
