One of my favorite spots for a made-to-order breakfast sandwich when I need one to go. Cuppa Java is a gem of a local spot just off of I394 in Bryn Mawr that is an independent coffee house with a neat community vibe. People from the local neighborhoods walk there for their morning fix and they also get their share of commuters coming off the Interstate that are in the know so the street parking can be a bit tough during peak rush hours. I really have to underscore that they make their sandwiches a la minute so they are not being reheated or microwaved from the freezer like many of the other coffee houses do so these are the real deal and worth occasional parking struggle. I do know that they also do lunch sandwiches and towards evening, they switch into a bit of a bar mode when wine and beer are offered. I can't speak to ever having been here for that but it seems like it would make an ideal end of day social gathering spot for people if in the area. The people that work here seem to take pride in what they do and they take the time to get to know the regulars and seem genuinely happy to be taking part in serving people. This place has been here for several years now and clearly does a good job of supporting the community. Its pride in being a part of a close-knit neighborhood is evident. Given that, it is hard to find fault with anything that it has to offer. I recommend supporting it heartily as these kinds of local gems are sometimes hard to keep and never fully appreciated until they are gone.

My mom always told me about how my late aunt loved Cuppa Java. It's definitely a cute, cozy neighborhood coffee shop/cafe. Smaller on the inside. The have a tiny private little seating space in the back (for ~3 ppl or so), the chairs looked a little stained and dirty in that area. Otherwise there's table and chairs in the main part. I ordered an iced latte with vanilla and strawberry flavor and it was really good. Simple but good. My mom enjoyed her drink as well (I don't remember what she got). The prices were fair. I would for sure stop here again. It's street parking but there's a lot of options on the multiple blocks surrounding it.

What a cute coffee shop with yummy treats! I stopped by after a lovely visit to the book store across the street, "Big Hill Books". It is clean, nice and comfy inside with comfortable seating. Great service! Today I got wild rice soup, which was super delish which the lovely Barista delivered to my table. I loved my cute single person seating table which was right in front of the closed-captioned TV. Very much enjoyed my visit. I will be back!

My boyfriend and I came here for a morning coffee date! This place is one of our favorites and stays busy! The service is always great as well as the bakery items, coffee, and food! They have a nice patio area outside as well as seating indoors. We got the breakfast croissant, blueberry bread, and coffee! Everything was great! Highly recommend this place for small coffee gathering or a little 1:1 date.

My family and I stopped by Cuppa Java to meet a friend while in town for a wedding on a busy Saturday morning. I think the ideal time to visit this popular coffee shop would be during an off time as it was very busy with folks enjoying a really pleasant early summer morning. We sat outside because it was so packed, and also because the weather was truly perfect. Just thinking about early June weather has me prepped and ready for it to cool off again! That being said, I can't speak much to the ambiance as I gave my order to my husband and took a seat outside with our daughter as the line was nearly out the door. We ordered a breakfast sandwich, a pastry, and each of us had an iced coffee. My coffee was really good - about what you expect for an iced coffee, and I remember the sandwich being really tasty. I think what makes this place stand out the most is how adorable it is and how it fits just perfectly into the neighborhood. I'd never been to this part of Minneapolis before and I absolutely loved the charm of this neighborhood. It felt very lived in, and I enjoyed how many people I saw out and about walking their dogs or taking their kids to the park on a weekend morning. I would absolutely return to this place next time I'm in the Twin Cities. I feel like it would be the perfect spot for an evening coffee date on a cold MN night - it just has this charm to it that I think would fit the bill, especially if it wasn't busy and you had time to really savor the pastries and your coffee.

Used to come here all the time. Good coffee and bfast sammich. But one day, an employee pranked me (made a joke at my expense) and I hate being pranked, so I haven't really been back since.

Grabbed coffee and a breakfast sandwich with some friends over the weekend. The sausage, egg, and cheese croissant was so good! I had an iced caramel latte to wash it down. It's on a corner and the inside lends to a lot of character and not a cookie cutter place like a lot of new shops these days. The staff were super nice and helpful! Definitely will be back to spend a little more time and chill with a book and coffee.

Cuppa Java is a nice neighborhood coffee shop and hangout. Coffee is great and they off some pretty good breakfast options. I would recommend ordering food ahead of time as it can get pretty busy here and it's not exactly fastfood.

Always love stopping by this locally owned coffee shop. They have many drinks besides coffee and a nice light breakfast and lunch/dinner menu. I decided to order an americano coffee and the sloppy Joe. The coffee was as fresh and delish as always. The sloppy Joe was also fresh and came with potato chips. The sandwich came on a nice bun and was full of chunks of the sloppy Joe mix. The staff are awesome and I def recommend a stop here!!
