Some staff was loving and caring (hence the extra star) and bonded with my children, however administrative staff was challenging. My child developed significant behavior issues because the staff was often favoring their own children who attended at the same time over kids whose parents did not work at the center. Staff children were rarely held accountable and tended to bully other kids. I agree with the previous reviewer regarding the director. She is very unprofessional, does not want to take accountability for issues and tends to blame the child or parent. J's demeanor is very passive aggressive and unpleasant, she is slow to respond to issues from parents. There is very little diversity among staff and children. I've seen kids exclude other children because of their skin color and staff refusing to address issues of racism among children. I don't recommend it.

I have had an outstanding experience with CKA!! I've got two children enrolled, infant and preschool. All the teachers I have worked with have been caring, warm and loving with my children. My older child has come home from daycare with art projects, great experiences with their summer extra curricular and stories of the fun he's had. I've also been impressed with how much he is learning. I wouldn't change anything about our experience. The center has also been making improvements in the way you can keep track of the accounting. In the past I'd need to ask the director for information, which she would get back to me with a day. Now, I can go online and get what I need. Plus, they starting an autopay feature which I love!!!

One of the best daycares/preschool in Moundsview. The director is so accommodating and welcoming. The staff is so good with my little girl. She always comes home happy and excited about the day. I love their app and the updates the do during the days. Also they are very informative if something happens at school or there's an injury they report it right away. Highly recommend this academy there is none better. Such a safe environment, friendly, welcoming environment for kids!

We sent out preschooler and infant for about 6 months. Some of the staff was great. Some were lazy and did nothing but whine and complain. My infant had diaper changed ever 3-4 hours and when she came home in rash so bad it bled, the only offer for resolution is to stop putting her in onesies because it was too much work to change it.They failed to hold parent teacher conferences. The director is a nasty, immature person who should NOT be in a management position, nor should she be around children every day. She refused to work with us on issues, took it out on our kids as a way to "show us whos boss", and when we had a conference with her boss, she sat with her arms crossed and her bottom lip out the entire meeting. Do NOT recommend. Avoid this place, and the director, Jessica.

My two daughter's have been attending Creative Kids Academy in Mounds View since August of 2015 and we couldn't be happier. My kids love their teachers and have made some great friends. The Pre-K program is great, they have weekly homework assignments and my daughter has learned a lot since attending this program and she looks forward to the weekly homework assignments. They are always working on art projects and you they bring home the cutest artwork. Communication is good, they have monthly news letters, daily sheets, and the lunch menu and weekly activities are posted in the classroom. They have fun activities in the Summer, bubbles, zoo, bounce house, etc.I would strongly recommend Creative Kids Academy for you little one!

My child's experience here was horrible. Academically they have a great program, but as far as the way they treat African American children it's horrible. Instead of working with parents and trying to understand your child, they try to write you're child off as a bad child. The director there needs customer service training.Talking over people and not listening to a parents concern is something I would not expect from someone that is supposed to be in a "management" position. When I put in our 2 weeks notice the first thing the director told me was " You guys don't have stay she can leave at any time." I heard rumors from other parents of color that this place was racist, and I didn't listen. I wanted to give them a chance. Unfortunately, I had to find out first hand that this place is what people said it was.

My infant daughter has been attending Creative Kids Academy in Mounds View for six months. We visited two other day care locations before choosing CKA. We didn't find a lot of differences between the facilities we visited--if you're going to choose a center, they all seem on the surface to provide a reliably safe and clean environment, and curriculum to help your child develop socially and intellectually. We ended up choosing CKA because of their 4 star Parent Aware rating, the price was reasonable for our area, and the location was most convenient to where we work/live. There have been no incidents that have made me question our decision. Our baby comes home happily exhausted from a day of playing and learning, and well fed on a food/bottle schedule we had input on. They track her activities throughout the day, so we know when she was changed/fed and how long she slept. Our little one isn't a great sleeper at CKA, but the caregivers have been open to suggestions/strategies to help out with that. Communication with the caregivers and director is good. They have a strategy for leaving notes that is effective if not technologically advanced. They do provide all food and snacks, which is super convenient, and the foot/hand print art projects they send home (usually monthly) are adorable. Overall I'm satisfied with CKA and would recommend it to others.
