if you are young, hot, hip and wanting an outfit that stands out from your friends you should check this place out. I have purchased several items from here for my daughter and she always gets compliments on them. Yes they may be a little more expensive than the department store but you are getting something different than off the rack at Nordstroms or Macy's. The idea is to stand out from the crowd. The first time we visited we did have the pleasure of meeting the big black lab and that won me over because I have a black lab also so of course I got along with the staff as we are fellow dog lovers and appreciate cute clothes....The have quick turn around on the clothes so if you see something you like---you better not wait to get it...

I thought this was another one of those crazy pricey boutiques, and yes, some of their items were. A lot of their items were. But the difference was they had items that were quite reasonable too! I got two pairs of "sunnies" or sunglasses if you want the non-cutesy, unoriginal term, for $20. My friend got a cute gold necklace for $20. And the staff here are super friendly! Considering the small size of the store, they carry great stuff. Everything is super trendy and as expected, can get pricey. But they have a little sale section that really knocks down the price for you if you're interested. Great place to do a little shopping if you have some down time.

I wasn't that into this place. The salesgirl did do an "assessment" of what jeans I should be wearing. I put them on and felt horrible. They fit all wrong and weren't flattering....all for the bargain price of $230! I was mostly put off when she kept raving how great I looked, and I kept wanting to ask are we looking in the same mirror? Somebody was trying to make a sale, and I felt it. In general, I thought everything was over priced and trying too hard to be trendy. Nothing really reasonably priced to pick up for fun, though I didn't feel that I found much that really fit my body or my style. I did pick up a super cute dress by a local designer for $50 at Drama next door though!

I've driven by Covered on Lagoon in Uptown many times, but hadn't actually gone in until today. I was looking for some dark grey skinny jeans and a pair of cutoff shorts. The commercial I've seen for Covered made it seem like they would have a wide selection of denim, but they really didn't. All the jeans I saw were over $200, and with my weight and shape constantly fluctuating, I can't bring myself to ever spend more than $100. They had some tops and dresses that were okay, but nothing to write home about and nothing you can't find in other stores in the area. What really turned me off about this place was the complete dis I got from the sales girls. Maybe it was because I'm not a blond? Maybe it was because I don't have huge plastic tits, or because I wasn't dripping in diamonds. Whatever it was, I got the "up-down" look and was completely ignored from then on. I don't need you to stick your nose up my ass, but welcoming me into your store is a non-negotiable. Giving me attitude like I'm not good enough to shop there is NOT going to win me over, or make me want to go back. Bottom line: if you like a really limited selection, really expensive jeans, and being ignored, you might like Covered. As for me, I'll stick with places like Picky Girl and Karma, both of Grand Ave in St. Paul, if I want unique boutique fashions and good customer service.

This past summer, I went into Covered looking for a cute, casual outfit for a night out in Uptown. I live in the Calhoun Square area and at for some reason hadn't been to Covered yet. Well, when I walked in, the 3 girls working were all drinking wine and talking about going out to the bars that night. I wasn't ever asked if I needed help from any of them. I actually ended up finding a cute shirt that was on sale, but when I went to buy it, they acted like they barely had time to ring up my "on sale" purchase. It was a little off-putting, so I didn't come in again until today.I figure that everyone deserves a second chance. Today, I gave Covered and second chance and I have to say my experience was even worse than the first time. When I walked in, no-one was out on the floor. There was a large black lab sleeping in the middle of the floor, and the store was a mess. Shoe boxes were scattered all over the floor and there was a clothes-steamer in the middle of the floor. After about a minute of being in the store, someone poked their head out of what I would assume is an office next to the cash register and said hello. They then went into one of the fitting rooms (and with the door open) started putting on a pair of jeans that were laying on the floor (they were wearing a dress and obviously just trying clothes on). I walked out... not worth any time.

These kids today with their ipods and their $150 jeans. Really, when I were a lass we picked our clothes out of a big pile at Ragstock and counted ourselves lucky. But Ragstock is gone out to the burbs and now there is a boutique clothing store in Dinkytown. Even now that I have a real job I'm more of a Lucky brand gal, but I recently discovered that their Manhattan Trouser jeans, if you can find them cost just about $150.I've been promising myself a recon mission here as soon as I loose the baby weight. T minus five pounds to go. Then you will get a full review people.

Covered has the most amazing clothing, shoes and accessories. Even undies and bralettes! season after season they're my go-to outfits and perfectly priced. You shouldn't get lost in the mall when you can find absolutely everything you need here and won't match every other girl walking down the street. The owners always make you feel welcome and comfortable and give style advice without over selling their clothes. They do an amazing job at buying so you know you're getting the best of the best.

Wonderful shopping experience at Covered. Perfect in every way down to the lovely shopping bag I carried my purchase away in. While according to the website this place is mostly about jeans, I stopped in and looked at everything but jeans. Lots of cute tops and dresses. Plenty of things under $100. I purchased a top for under $60. I want to live in one of the dressing rooms at this place! It's simple, modern, and beautiful. Such great customer service. The saleswoman greeted us as we walked in, and was very friendly and helpful. My mom and sister didn't find anything this trip, but enjoyed playing foosball as I tried things on ;)

What I wouldn't do for a pair of nice black jeans. It's been a nonstop failing quest this autumn/winter and I'm still without them. Unfortunately, Covered couldn't help me complete my quest: of the 60 or so jeans in stock, only 3 were black and not in my size. TOTALLY disappointed, and the staff couldn't do much more than shrug. Ahhh well.I still checked out the rest of the shop, even though I'm usually not in the market for super-casual or club wear. There was a lot of selection to be had at least, including some fantastic winter coats, but not really anything that one could ever wear in an office environment. Or rather, even when I'm pushing it as close to the borderline of office-appropriate, nothing here would pass muster.Their accessories, however, are unique and interesting. I spent a lot of time staring at belts, trying to figure out what I owned that I could wear them with. I did end up with a funky chain necklace that I absolutely could not pass up -- dress code be damned.Unless they can magically materialize the black jeans of my dreams, Covered likely won't be a regular stop for me. However, if I am accessory hunting, that could be another story.

I used to be afraid to step foot in here, mainly because a lot of the stuff was out of my price range. But it really is somewhat affordable, especially when you compare to other boutiques in the MSP/STP area. Unfortunately (fortunately?!) lately I've walked out every time with something I probably don't need, but cute anyway. I'm sorry to the other reviewers who have had bad experience with the sales people. Every time I've gone in they've been extremely helpful (not pushy) and they give great suggestions. If you can find some of their clothing or accessories on sale too, it's usually a very good deal. Also, if you see something online you like, you can call and they'll set it aside for you, I've done that WAY too many times. Note: free shipping from online orders! The only bad thing for me is it's not really close to where I live, but maybe that's a good thing. And parking kinda stinks but they'll give you quarters for the meters (as long as you're shopping there, of course!)
