China Palace Restaurant

I won't claim to be a Chinese food expert by any means. Totally acknowledging that my preferences are "indulge me in a whole lotta delicious food" versus an authentic meal. Fortunately, they DID deliver on the quality and quantity in just the way I would expect. We ordered takeout - a LOT of takeout - for four people. Ultimately ended up getting about 5 different entrees, plus hot and sour soup.The soup was delicious, and much creamier than what I normally have. I'm super excited to have this right around the corner, since this is a dish I could never replicate at home.As for the rest of the food, it was all great. The Tiger Pork stood out as one of my favorites. It was surprisingly crispy, but didn't end up with that over-fried chewy texture a lot of fried meats can get. I also loved that their orange chicken had actual orange pieces in it. Yummy!Lastly, the service was great. We called in and they had our order ready in less than 30 minutes. The woman managing the takeout counter was so friendly and appreciative, and I'll be glad to come back and continue to support this local restaurant!All in all, this serves my needs, tasted great, didn't cost a fortune and is a fantastic locally-owned restaurant!

will never go here again. Or order from this restaurant again. Ordered 11 things & didn't get 11 things. The people were trying to argue with me a customer. Over food they forgot to place into my bag. Made me come back 2 different times so they can check the bag. Service was very bad. Limited choicesSome items were very goodBut otherwise mehCompared to most Chinese buffets I go to, China Palace has a very small selection. One station with your basic Chinese buffet staples such as fried rice, lo mein, etc. and a smaller salad station. No dessert station. They charge $9.00 for the buffet. Not sure if drink is included in that price. I just had water. Pay as you leave. In an old strip mall that is off the beaten bath. The standout items for me were the sesame chicken and pot stickers. The sesame chicken was very fresh and flavorful, and the pot stickers were much meatier than what I am accustomed to. The lo mein and fried rice were pretty basic. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here again, but certainly may if I am in the area.

I'm visiting from out of town and missing good Chinese food, and I'm glad I found this place on Yelp. My food was delivered through GrubHub and it arrived on time. The generous portion of tofu vegetable stir fry was fresh and delicious, and I highly recommend it.

Best takeout in the area. Been going there for years and have always been completely satisfied. Amazing cream cheese puffs and the fried donuts are decadent

Best economic Chinese food.It is located near hopkins downtown in small mall.Employees are really helpful and friendly .We had chinese cheese wontons, pan fried chicken chow mein and vegetable lo mein.Cheese wontons were crispier on the outside and soft on inside with mild sweet cream cheese .Pan fried chowmein was yummy with nice crisp and topped with the saucy chicken .Vegetable lomein also was super delicious.Food was not greasy .The restaurant looks small from outside,but food is absolutely tasty .The don't accept amex cards,so remember to bring visa, master card or cash with you .

Cold and seemed like it had been made the day before. Was really excited to try as I have been looking for a good Chinese place nearby in Hopkins but not a good experience. Soup was decent

This place used to be one of my favorites. I'm not sure if the pandemic messed them up or what (along with the rest of the world which I understand). The quality is not there anymore and it's quite disappointing. I paid $41.01 ($36.01 + $5.00 tip). I got the sesame chicken, large chicken chow mein, and wontons. The chow mein is good, usually always is. The little chicken nuggets that come in the sesame were just straight breading and they were ginormous?? They used to be at least bite size. There was also barely any sauce in the container after I poured the nuggets onto my plate. There's usually a good amount to at least drizzle on the dry nuggets for everyone's plate. The wontons are also smaller than the sesame chicken pieces which doesn't make any sense to me. I used to love this place a lot but I don't believe I'll be going back :/

Recently removed the option to order smaller (pint) sized containers for several of the items on the menu. They were perfect for just one person. Nevertheless, still the best Chinese food in the area and the staff is so nice.
