With a late start to the morning and wanting to try something new, my lady friend and I ended up settling for Cheap Andy's for an early lunch and to watch Germany finish a woeful match against Mexico in the World Cup. The place has ample room and two bars. One inside in the AC (or heat depending on season) and the other outdoors which doubles as the smoking lounge. There is also an outdoor area for bags & shuffle board(they have leagues), and other shenanigan's. Cheap Andy's, now officially open for about 9 months, has that rustic yet modern feel and enough variety in booze, beer, and food that most anyone will be satisfied. Their menu also goes through a bit of the history of the location (which other reviews mention) which is kind of interesting if you are into that thing. The inside bar itself is a classic thing of beauty and was beautifully redone. We opted for a sausage onion pizza and some tots and both were tasty. The thin crust 'za, comes cut in squares and if it could've been just cooked a titch more(maybe just a minute or two it was that close), would easily give Carbone's and the old Savoy a run for their money. The tots? Well seriously, how can you screw those up (even though it has happened)? These were a crispy perfection that came with a side of seasoned sour cream. My bloody Mary I ordered virgin style was delicious and it didn't even need that usual shot of tequila that I typically like to enjoy mixed in. But sitting at the bar, it's the little things you notice. There was one dude in the kitchen handling it all. Onion rings getting hand coated and dropped in the fryer one at a time. The house blend of bloody Mary mix behind the bar ready to go to satisfy ones Sunday cravings. The ambiance, perfect for a Sunday afternoon, not too loud but busy. All in all, it's definitely worth checking out and I'll be back as there are daily specials offered too (check their FB page). My overall take is that it is your typical bar fare but with a little extra love added to what is served.

Well, what could I say???The place is nice in the growing little Village of Hammond, WI. Back after 7 years and it looking very promising village. Now, going to the point. The restaurant looks from outside nice and attracts the hungry passerby. The patio is ample and comfortable. When coming in, the restaurant interior is small but the Bar is plenty full. One feels welcome. The food is another matter. The Cheese Curds very savory and well done. The simple Cheese Grilled Sandwich like a little dry brick. I supose there is no trick to make a sandwich like that. The hamburguer not even close to a juicy one. The Waffle Fries were well prepared. The service was very good and hospitable. Will try again to see if it was a bad day, only, but I have my doubts.I have been around restaurants for a long time, Amateur Chef and Wine maker, therefore I am on the right track.Till next one....

Went after Granddaughters graduation. There were 12 of us. Yes it was a large group but three other tables came in after and was served before us. They were quick with the drinks. Took more the. A hour to get food. My black and blue burger was the size of McD's burger. It was barely warm and same on the tots. How long was it sitting? Dinner chicken salad tasted like the chicken was cook in the morning. The wings were good. Wasn't the evening we were wishing g for.

I have lived in the Hammond area for 17 years so I remember when the Hammond Hotel stood where Cheap Andy's stands now. The new structure plays homage to the old. They retained the original bar, some of the old wood and trim and even the outdoor patio which stayed up when they tore the hotel down. Fortunately, they vastly improved what used to be there. They have lots of big screen tvs for watching the packer games, high tables for dining and a good looking menu. The outdoor patio looks great and they are adding a recreation area outside for the summer. The food is far better too! I stopped in for some carry out and to try the food for the first time. They weren't even on yelp yet so I put them on the map! I ordered a hamburger with waffle fries for my daughter and a sandwich that can only be described as a mess of deliciousness for myself. The sandwich was called the gunslinger. It was made with chopped brisket, ground beef and bacon slathered in a smokey sweet bbq sauce on a bun. Best "sloppy joe" I ever had! The only quibble I had (and my daughter noted this as well), they don't give you many fries or tots so if you are looking to get happily full, you might be disappointed. My sandwich was $10 and hers was $8. Not bad for a bar and grill. Beef up the sides and you will be perfect. Service was friendly and quick because i was carrying out. They only had one waitress. I hope they have more on staff for a busy weekend night, otherwise it could get a little spotty. I will definitely be back! I am already craving another gunslinger.

My first impression is that this is a great improvement. The building was beautifully done with an excellent mix of old and new - fans of the old Hammond Hotel will find many nostalgic gems scattered about the walls and up in the beams. I imagine this would be a great place to watch the game, and next summer the outdoor patio will be awesome. The enclosed Cabrio structure is still here, too.My son enjoyed his cheeseburger sliders and my beef chipotle wrap was well done, with some of the best waffle fries I've had.

I've ordered a cheeseburger cooked medium rare on 4 different occasions and on all 4 they were cooked well done. I even made a point to say medium rare twice on the last attempt.

The parking lot was packed so we figured it had to be good. As we entered the main bar to our surprise we were the only ones in there. Come to realize they have a large enclosed patio that is considered smoking area...it was quite full. A connecting door between the bar and patio caused much of the smokey smell to enter the non smoking area. It stunk! The smell alone made the experience unpleasant. Food was so-so. We definitely will be choosing another spot down the street when we travel through town in the future.

Service was good - but food and drinks were so so. There's a smoking room believe it or not - which wafted into the main area unfortunately. Definetly a traditional dive bar and worth it for that experience.
