There was nobody working there when we walked in. A worker finally came in after a few minutes and unfortunately they didn't have the book we were looking for. This was fine, however the employee was super pushy. She wanted us to sign up for something so we'd be the first to know about when the book came in and since we wanted the book asap, my husband politely declined and said he would just order the book off Amazon. This must have irritated the worker because her whole demeanor changed and all of a sudden she was snotty and told us we could order the book off their website instead in order to support small bookstores like them. Like- we were trying to support local bookstores by checking the store first before purchasing off Amazon but when you're in a series, you want to finish the book and start the next one right away so we didn't want to wait until they had it in stock. Then she gave us 2 business cards for other small book stores so that we can "support indie booksellers". We just didn't like how we felt like we were being shamed and looked down upon. It wasn't necessarily what she said but her demeanor towards us that left us feeling looked down upon. The store was cute and small but we probably won't be back after the encounter that left us with a bitter taste in our mouths.

Talk about customer service! They held a book for me for a whole year! I was able to gift it to a good man and he much appericated it. I believe shopping local is super important and if I want a new book I ordered it from them!

When we visit Hudson we always hit this little book store after getting candy at Knokes. Our visit today was wonderful again, great book recommendations and they sent my daughters home with A Dog's Purpose puppy boxes, which they . Stop by and check out a local author + a fun kids section.

While books are becoming ancient and "old fashioned" I can not jump on the kindle experience. I, as a lover of holding a book in my hands and reading every line and devouring each chapter, find the best place to go for my next novel to be here. The owner is simply amazing and will go above and beyond to help you find your next read. Go out and go here. Support local business while maybe getting lost in your favorite read.

The new location isn't cramped. Angled Parking is still street but more spaces It's run by awesome owners, Brian and Sue, who support local authors of all genres and have many launches and signings. Very kid friendly. Only inconvenience is it's down a flight of stairs. They can't control the building and were lucky to get it when they were rushed out of the old one. My pet peeve is the fiction and mysteries are still mixed, but the sci-fi has its own spot. So much more room. They often have random books on sale. Many older books in hard cover. Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason to what they carry, but you will find something. Always a pleasant day trip to Hudson.

Chapter2Books is one of our favorite spots in Hudson to spend a quiet afternoon. Brian always knows the latest literary news and sponsors the most interesting authors for readings. He carries a good selection of local authors and regional books plus can always order any book we are interested in. It is so much more enjoyable than buying from the big box stores or online.
