First time visiting and I have to come back. The glass art on display was absolutely stunning. The lighting is done so well to enhance what you are seeing. I tried to capture my fav piece by walking a video around it but the video just doesn't do it justice. You must see in person. I worked for West Publishing when Mr Cafesjian was an executive there so I have some familiarity with his love of art. It's hard to imagine some of these pieces being part of his home. Such beauty to view everyday. The museum is open to the public but you need to make a reservation at the set times. The guide is very knowledgeable and spends about 20 minutes talking then walks around the museum answering your questions. She was wonderful and a nice addition to the tour. Some of the pieces are on loan so stop back on occasion to see new art.

I never knew anyone had a private collection in this form. My church arranged a tour for the pioneers. Mostly glass pieces of various sizes. My favorite was a pink wall piece that would be the coolest bathroom cabinet. At first I thought the back was the main entrance and stumbled upon a very abstract art piece that you would only see from this angle. So now one of the best museums is next to the best restaurant. Anyone would enjoy this. I would never take anyone here who is clumsy or a clod.

WOW if you have any interest in glass art this should be on your to do list. The Cafesjian Art Trust (CAT) Museum is a small museum established by Gerard Cafesjian who was an executive with West Publishing in St Paul. The museum specializes in art glass. It is free but you must reserve in advance on their website. The museum is located in Shoreview right off of Highway 96 and there is more than ample free parking in the adjacent lot. Tickets are for a two hour interval and group size is limited to about 15 so a visit is an intimate experience with plenty of space to view the exhibits without some one else in your viewing space. There is a 20 minute guided tour which was very informative and then you are free to revisit all the pieces at your own pace. The exhibits change periodically so return visits are in order. This is really a jewel. So if you are into the visual arts it is a must see.

It was a beautiful display and we had a guided tour so we learned many things about the artist and family. I have alway been a fan of Chihuly Glass it is so beautiful to look at. They have tours that you need to sign up prior to arriving.

The Cafesjian Art Trust was awesome! They currently offer free guided tours of the Chihuly glass art they have. Their tours are completely booked but if you follow them on Instagram you can see when people cancel. I will definitely watch the Cafesjian Art artist for future tours. They also have a large parking lot so you don't have to look for street parking.

We got tickets to see this Chihuly show. It is a private collection that the Cafesjian family made into a museum.. It was a guided tour and we learned lots of information about the art work. The work is very beautiful. You need to have a reservation to attend. Check their website for more information on tickets. It is well worth your time.
