Cafe Steam

I had a presentation in this building so my co-presenters and I met here for coffee beforehand. First, the house-made chai (with oat milk) was delicious. Second, the space is great -- lots of seating throughout the first floor with different options and setups, whether you're flying solo or need to have a meeting with others. The cozy fireplace is a cool touch. This is the second Cafe Steam location I've been to (I don't live in the state so I'm usually only in town for a day or two at a time), and they've all been great.

A solid coffee place in Rochester with some good open seating. Stopped in here over the holiday place to find a spot to cozy up and get some work done. Lots of fun options on the menu, including a couple seasonal drinks. Good wifi and lots of places to plug in your computer which is really nice for getting work done. Some treats and breakfast sandwiches available as well and a waffle menu. Chai didn't have a super strong flavor and drip coffee was well made but erred on the lighter roast side.

Great coffee (the cold brew is hella), delicious pastries, cool decor/vibe, plus kind and thoughtful service!

This is my favorite Cafe Steam location! The baristas are always extremely friendly and make each drink with care. There is a lot of seating options and the natural light from all the windows make for a positive atmosphere!

The space is loft-like, airy and bright. After you walk through the front doors, there is a shelf full of board games to encourage play. Variety of seating around corners and on different floors. Theater-style seating/stairs near the entrance is very prominent and unique. I ordered a mocha but I found it to be rather too sweet for my taste. My friend commented that a lot of people moved through the space while we were sitting there . It seemed like a lot of students and working professionals walked up and down the stairs, in and out of the coffee shop. Almost like it can be seen as a coffee counter amongst a bigger, mixed-used space. There were doors connecting the space to classrooms/conference rooms/labs(?). I will definitely come back to visit. It was a nice place to sit in with lots of bright, natural light, and enjoy my coffee.

Another location and a great addition to the existing downtown store(s)! Great coffee, friendly service, and lots of space--both for working indoors and for parking outdoors. Standard drinks are good, also recommend the Thai coffee for something sweet and more unique to Steam.

I have had their White Chocolate Mocs, and their medium roast coffee. Both are excellent. The flavor of the coffee beans they use is superb. Plenty of open space to relax and get together with friends.

Will & his team are committed to a great product and a very welcoming space. The best in Rochester. Free parking in the south side lot is an added bonus!
