"Yum! My husband, 3 children, and myself came here on a Friday during Christmas break. We first ordered one Potato Mozza to try it out for fun. The cashier suggested a couple hot sauces to top it with. It was so good! So naturally, we ordered more. We tried the Mozza & Hot Dog and the All Cheddar, both were good, but our favorite was the Potato. Cruncheese shares a space with Snowbing, so we got our dessert at the same location. We will definitely be coming back!"
"I absolutely love this place. It's right next to all the big sports stadiums so I love getting a bite here before heading to a game. The place itself is pretty small, don't expect accommodations for a huge group, but it honestly adds to the "hole in the wall" restaurant vibe. It really feels like an authentic Asian restaurant. If the servers are ushering you out as quickly as possible and head straight to business when serving, you know the food is about to hit. They always serve their kimchi stew boiling, and you get to crack your own egg! They also have such good bibimbap."

"We had the basic egg flip. It was enough for two of us to share. My husband absolutely loved it! My only complaint was the greasiness. My hands were a mess! That's probably why it tasted so good."
"The only reason I'm giving Dosirak 4 stars is the most important part of this restaurant the food is GOOD! Everyone in my group had something different on the menu because we all have different Korean faves and we all loved what we ordered. You walk up to the counter and order, the host at the counter was short with us when we had questions, so you kind of have to know what you want, she was very disinterested in helping us figure out what was good, so I say google ahead or ask questions of people that know more and just go up with your order. You pick your own seating and they give you a number and bring your order out to you. The food came out pretty quickly, but we were not there at a popular dining time. I've seen the restaurant be VERY full at popular dining times so we purposely went after 7pm on a weekeday. Don't go too late though because the Asian Mall closes!"
"Oh my gosh! The service and food were excellent! The restaurant was neat and clean, perfect place to meet up with friends. The menu had so many delicious looking items that it was hard to decide what to order. We had to try the wings, which were perfectly cooked. Crispy and excellently seasoned. My friend ordered the BulDak, which was nice and spicy, he thoroughly enjoyed it. The serving was huge. There were enough leftovers for two more meals. I ordered the Japchae, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I definitely will go back and try more of their delicious food."
"I unfortunately didn't take a picture of my food as I did take out and then went straight to eating but WOWW! We've had people tell us about their fried chicken and finally gave it a try. I'm super bummed I didn't come to this place as soon as it opened in Roseville because I've been missing out . Parking was very easy as they have it right in front and to place a take out order it was pretty quick. I did half and half of sauces for chicken wings which were super flavorful and had a side of kimchi which was perfect to accompany the meal and a side of fried rice plain. Service was great and food was perfect. Next time I'll be dinning in for sure !"
"Wow I basically found the St. Paul equivalent of Don Yang (Columbia Heights), our favorite Korean deli. The difference is that at this place the prices are actually reasonable, whereas other Korean places in Minneapolis have lost their minds on pricing. It's located in a non-descript building on 7th in the Dayton Bluffs neighborhood by Metro State U.The food is fantastic and they are just a Korean family with a Latino helper that crank out authentic Korean fare. I ordered the Kim Chi Stew (#17) which comes with Kim Chi, Pork, Rice Cake, Veggies, and Tofu in a spicy broth. The meal comes with white rice, and the usual assorted pickled Korean goodies. Beware this is Korean spicy, so it builds as you eat. You might sweat...a lot, depending on your spice tolerance. For non-spicy diners there are plenty of choices as well. I would recommend getting the Beef Bulgogi (#6) of course, or the Dok Bulgogi (#8) (BBQ Chicken breast.) Service was quick and cordial, you order at the counter, there is zero ambiance in the place, typical of these types of Asian Deli's. I loved it and definitely will be back when I'm in the neighborhood again"
"Every time I come here, the food is phenomenal. All you need to do is order appetizers so you can have multiple things to eat from the food is so delicious."
"Absolutely delicious meal. The portions were huge, and the dipping sauce and kimchi slaw complimented the chicken perfectly. The presentation was lovely, and the staff at the Abang Yoli counter were very friendly. I would come here again!"

One of our must do's every time we come to Asia Mall. This shop is combined with a Korean shaved ice spot which makes for a great treat spot.Cruncheese specializes in Korean hot dogs. You can get a hot dog, cheese or combo middle that is coated in a delicious batter. There are options to add potatoes and a variety of sauces that you can get. They are all made fresh and served very hot. It may take a little longer but it's worth it for the freshness! Service is always excellent each time we visit. Next time you stop at Asia Mall plan for a little extra time to visit Cruncheese!

Kimchi Tofu House is on my shortlist of favorite restaurants not just in the Twin Cities, but everywhere. Delicious, consistent food has had me coming back here at least every month and half since I was introduced to it in my first few weeks of college. There's a lot to love about this small shop nestled into the University campus, and over the years I've tried everything on the menu. If you haven't been, I hope this is the review the gets you to give it a shot. But first let's break it down. This place is dialed in. At Tofu House, it's all about the silken tofu stew (sundubu-jjigae). This stew hits your table in the cast pot it was cooked in-- steaming, boiling, and fiery red if you turn up the heat. Heat level is a matter of comfort of course, and you can choose what feels right. Heed this caution though--they don't play when it comes to spice. Spicy is SPICY. Medium is a good balance and what I usually order, but I wouldn't recommend going below mild or you'll lose the flavor that makes this soup so special. Order a stew and you'll receive a raw egg before your magma arrives. When that stew comes out, crack the egg on the cauldron and let it boil in front of you. Don't hesitate to do this long--you need that heat. There's a range of stews on the menu, but I stay loyal to the classic beef or go dumplings if I've got a little extra appetite. Tofu house's secret weapon is their grill, serving up sizzling plates of beef, spicy pork, and chicken bulgogi. The pork is the way to go here-- I've had graduated friends fly back to the city dreaming of this stuff. Luckily you don't have to make a choice between this and the stew. Tofu house's lunch and dinner combos let you indulge in both. You'll get a ton a food for the price--~$16 for lunch and ~$20 for dinner. Note that the stew you'll get with the combo is a bit smaller. But don't fret, I don't leave my plate empty often, but even I've brought back some pork and rice for the next day's lunch. If you want the full experience, this is the way to go.Now a couple how-tos about this sweet spot. This place is small. I'm talking seating for no more than 15, and that's including the communal tables. Yes, you might join someone else's table here, but it's part of the charm. The place is busy even when school is out, so plan for an early dinner or late lunch. They're strict about their closing time too. Don't expect to stay a minute after. Service here is all about speed. You might get two minutes to look at the menu, and don't be surprised when your check comes out after only a few bites. But ask for the time you need, or for suggestions, and they'll be happy to help. A lot flies in the face of regular restaurant service, but don't take it personally--there's a line outside waiting for stew too. Now go already!

I'm so happy and excited that there is now a place to get Korean food on the Eastside (besides Gangnam in Maplewood). For those who have been to Korea Restaurant at the U of M for delicious Korean food- this is the same owner and sister restaurant. Since they just opened- it was pretty busy and service was a bit slow when we went for dinner but we were able to get a table, plus overall still the same great flavors and selections as the one by the U. How to order: menu is on the wall, you say your order and pay, you will get your receipt with a number, once your order is ready your number will show up on the number board for you to pick up (you will here a ding like sound), when you pick up your food there is also napkins and utensils on the size. Pros:-Great authentic Korean food-friendly staff-good selection/good size menuCons:-you get less sides than the one by the U-no parking lot, just street parking (located on a weird intersection)-small place, only 8-10 tables

"It's hard to find Korean food in Minnesota. I have been looking for a place for a while. I'm happy to have found Bonsai Korean cuisine. It's a bit out of the way for me, but it was definitely worth the trip--the menu immediately reminded me of the restaurants I used to go to when I lived in Seoul. The restaurant is unremarkable as far as ambiance goes--it's clean and bright, has comfortable booths, and is small enough to that it stays quiet even when there are plenty of parties present. (Speaking of which, this is definitely family-friendly. It is also a good spot for a pre-show meal. It doesn't read as romantic, but it would be fine for a casual date for sure.)The food was good for sure. There are options for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. There are spicy choices and non-spicy choices. We started with the vegetarian joon mandu, which were perfectly fried and came with a most delicious sauce that took me back to my favorite restaurant in Seoul. I got the dolsot bibimbap, and it came out sizzling in the traditional hot stone dish, with a sunny side up egg, bean sprouts, shiitake mushrooms, carrots, and sesame oil. I got mine with tofu, which was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The kochujjang came on the side, but I put it all on because yum. It was such a wonderfully filling and comforting dish. (Insert contented sigh here.)As is the case in any good Korean restaurant, we received banchan--in addition to the traditional Napa cabbage kimchi, we got pickled daikon and some steamed broccoli with sesame. They were all tasty--I love the bright yellow daikon especially. It's perfect with a spicy dish (or on its own). For dessert, we tried the mochi ice cream. We got the mango flavor. It was a nice, refreshing end to the meal--not too sweet.Overall, a very solid meal with great service--if you're craving Korean, give it a try! If you've never tried it but have always wanted to, this is a great place to start. They have tons of traditional Korean dishes, and your server will help you figure out the perfect dish for you."
"Korean food in Minneapolis? I mean, excellent Korean food in Minneapolis? Yes!!! This place was awesome. Quick and friendly service by all the wait staff and a free lesson on the correct pronunciation of a few Korean words for entrées. (Now I know how to properly pronounce Bulgogi!) My Bulgogi was so tasty and a huge portion that I didn't think I could finish by myself; but I did. It was so freakin' delicious I couldn't stop eating. Plus, no room for leftovers at the hotel, so bottoms up! Appetizer was good and the prices were decent. Recommend this place for a great Korean dinner and experience."
"Didn't take pictures but was good. My friend liked the food. Service and ambiance were good too. ."
"This place is ! I have never seen Soju on a menu, and it was explained that it flavored sake which usually results in a more sweeter taste. They infuse the Soju themselves in house and it was amazing! I suggest getting a flight, by the lychee was my favorite! The atmosphere is so cool. Dark, loud music, high backed booths. Perfect for a date or a group. We took our kids here and sat at the bar... they were extremely accommodating with paper and coloring crayons. The staff were unfazed. The food is splendid. My favorite was the pork belly. It comes with wraps and you get tongs and utensils to build it yourself. It could have been cooked a littleLonger, but the flavor was perfect. We'll be back!!"
"Stopped in after looking for a quick bite to eat and decided to try a new place. We were a little surprised that Bonchon is fully a sit down restaurant, but our experience was great. Very clean store, staff were very nice, and service was actually phenomenal. We had their bibimbap bowl and fried tenders, both were really good. The fried chicken with the soy garlic sauce in particular was a highlight."
"Coworker lunch on a Friday brought me here. This was my first time at a Korean BBQ joint, so I didn't know what to expect. Nice location off Lexington with plenty of parking. Walking in, it looked clean and inviting even though you see overstock of supplies in the back hallways. It was a quiet 2:30 lunch, only 2 other parties in the restaurant with us. Service was fairly quick. For those who are new to this place, be aware that there is no silverware (forks). Either be competent with chop sticks (not me at all!), or you will end up eating meat with a giant soup spoon (this was me!)Small dishes were brought out after we ordered. I was told this is "bon chon". Kimchi, sliced sweet potato, broccoli.... and served cold. Then sauces for entrees, and my rice came out. Then about 10 mins later, all the entrees. See pics for what others ordered. Everyone's food was HOT except mine, which confused me. My rice was room temperature, not warm/hot. (Why was it sitting table-side 10 mins prior to entrees, cooling off?) I liked the sticky consistency but not the temperature. And my beef bulgogi came out on a wooden plate/cast iron skillet but was still just lukewarm. Not burn-your-fingers hot like Mexican fajitas. I was also expecting it to have more sweet soy sauce than it came with. I thought it would be glistening with moisture, but the beef was dry. It did have flavor but could have been so much more. Everyone else's mouths were scalded from heat but I was left with taste bud intact. I took leftovers home for sis. She microwaved it and she liked it. Truthfully, you did not impress me like the others and don't know if I would elect coming back. Sorry."
"Always a great spot if you're craving a quick Korean bite. Today, I got the beef bulgogi plate. With a mixture of grilled beef, veggies, and slightly sweet sauce, you are in for a juicy meaty treat! Service was quick. Makes for a fun trendy spot by the University of Minnesota!"
"Yum yum yum!! Haven't been here for quite some time and I'm so glad to be back! Super clean, very friendly staff and amazing food. I ordered the kimchi pancake to start. It is fried lightly and is a thin layer of amazing fresh kimchi. It comes with a soy sauce based dipping sauce. It is a large plate so plenty for leftovers. So delish!!I also ordered the stir fried glass noodles with pork and vegetables. That dish comes with several sides to top it yourself. Fresh and tasty!Stop by and enjoy this delish Korean food! Def recommend!"
"Small, corner restaurant with street parking. Service was attentive even though they were a bit stretched. Tried a few different lunch items, all of it was cooked fairly well and had a reasonable flavor. The short rib lunch combo included a lot of small little accompaniments, but everything sort of just landed a bit flat. Nothing quite "great" but definitely not too bad either. If you're looking for something a bit off the beaten path, love kimchi, and are seeking some Asian cuisine, this will likely meet those expectations even if it doesn't wow you!"
"I will preface this review by saying that I am Korean and also grew up in Los Angeles / Orange County which has some of the best korean food in the US. Is this place comparable to CA kbbq places? Obviously not but for being in Minneapolis I was pleasantly surprised. Nice restaurant, staff are very attentive, and plenty of parking. I had mixed feelings with the Banchan. Some were spot on in flavor and some tasted a bit watered down. The Deonjang jjigae was also a little watered down and could have used a bit more doenjang. The steamed egg was perfect and portion size was nearly double most other places. We ordered the samgyupsal, chadolbaegi, and jumulleok which all were very good. Portions were large. Dipping sauces were on point. Loved that they gave lettuce and ssamjang. Right now this has quickly moved up to my favorite kbbq spot in the twin cities. Sucks because it is a bit of a drive for me but if you are close by, definitely check them out. This is probably the closest thing to CA level KBBQ spot in MSP area."
"Went with my cousin Sid and a couple of nephews. The Good. It's kind of fun and the staff were very sweet. The so-so. The food cuts are a bit not my style. The pork was almost all fat and to render on the grill takes forever. I ended up grilling mostly veggies. They were good. Asparagus. Mushrooms. Peppers. All. But proteins were not great."
"We went here on a lark for a quick lunchtime snack. The place was spotless, the staff was friendly and prompt. the food came out quickly. We ordered the pork steam buns, pickled radishes, and the Karaage. They were all super fresh and tasty. I will totally be back to try other offerings. They also had someone coming around offering the Mochi donuts from Te'Amo. Those things were amazing. this place is right next door. I ended buying a dozen, because I couldn't help myself. those are my new favorite sweets right now.If you are in the area, it is completely worth it to stop by and eat here."
"THIS PLACE!!! I like chicken wings and was looking forward to trying these, but they were way beyond my expectations. The wings are made to order, so they came out nice and crispy with the most tender chicken. The Gangnam style sauce was flavorful and had a perfect kick to it. The Gangnam style wings take longer to make than some of the other menu options, so that's something to keep in mind. The Uptown location is close to bde maka ska and there's plenty of metered street parking in the area. There's a St. Paul location as well.I totally recommend bb.q and will definitely be back for more wings!"
"We came here for a pre-concert dinner. This is my first foray into Korean BBQ, and overall it was quite enjoyable. Parking is on the street, or there is free parking next to the restaurant in the evening. The restaurant was clean well designed. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The food came out to our table really quick. I mean really really quick. we were barely settled in and chatting after placing our order and our food came out. I am not sure if I ever said this about a restaurant, but it was a bit too quick. The food overall was fine. The Nigiri we ordered seems pretty fresh. I can't recall what my dining companions ordered but it was cooked well and was well balanced. I had ordered the Braised Beef Ribs. This entree was mostly a failure. While the sauce and vegetables and other accouterments were good; The beef was sooo chewy. The connective tissue you find in the ribs was not broken down in the braise. That meat needed another 60 to 90 minutes in the braise. So dropping $40.00 on this and getting this entree served to me in its state, was a disappointment.I would hit it up again to try some of the other entrees and give this place another chance."
