"This place has piqued my curiosity for a long time and I finally made it in for the first time. I'll definitely be back. I like traditional Indian fare very much, and the selections at Gorkha Palace seem like an exotic twist on that since there are Nepali and Tibetan recipes on the menu. For my entree, I got Lamb Vindaloo, which was different from other vindaloos I've had. It was all meat, no potatoes or anything else you might find supplementing meat in a vindaloo. The server cautioned me that it might be hotter than I expect, so I asked for the lowest spice level. That was not spicy at all, not even a little bit, so I wish I hadn't been talked down from a higher spice level. It could have used more flavor. Quality lamb meat, though.I also got "mo:mo", which are steamed dumplings. I'm a big fan of steamed dumplings and these were GREAT. They had a unique, tangy flavor that was awesome with or without the tomato-y dipping sauce. I might seriously get a double order of them as a main course next time. Except that I want to try more of their stuff. Someday, though. (Dumplings as an entree is normal for me, and should be normal for more people!)Prices are on the high side; many entrees are more than $20. Also they make it clear that there will be a 20% surcharge, and although that disclaimer suggests that you might end up tipping beyond that, my bill didn't have a spot to add a tip, so maybe that surcharge is actually an instead-of-tipping situation. Which I like, but the messaging is confusing.Free parking, a unique perk for this area, although when they're busy they'll run out of spaces. Those dumplings, you guys."
"I will definitely come here again. It had been a long time since I'd been to one of their locations, but my friend and I were seeing a show at the Orpheum and an Indian place just a few blocks away (and with metered spaces that are cheaper and more plentiful than I was expecting), this was perfect for us. They have a large menu with all the standards you'd expect, and a particularly generous selection of vegetarian entrees. That was a requirement for my friend, who got Baignan Bharta Eggplant. She absolutely loved it. I got chicken vindaloo, which was good. Vindaloo is usually best with beef or lamb, but I was following a diet rule. I asked for 3/5 spice level and it was near the high end of what I tolerate, so expect them to give you spicy when you want it. We also got Cheese Pakora, which came with two very nice sauces. The best thing was the service. They were really nice; very attentive and fast. My favorite is that we mentioned when she seated us that we wanted to make sure to make it to the theater on time, and it seemed like that message got around because they were really quick with us and made sure the check was on the table early. I like the idea of coming here before seeing a show at one of those theaters on Hennepin, so I'll definitely do that again."

"Hungry in your hotel and feel the urge for Indian food? Look no further than Darbar Indian grill.Quick and easy ordering and fast delivery with Uber Eats. We started with the garlic naan bread 4/5 which paired well with the curry and jalfrezi. Paneer tikka masala is always a must and was delicious 5/5 topping the basmati rice. So rare to find an Indian place with jalfrezi and loved it 5/5. Plenty of vegetables with chicken. The sauces were also good with the naan bread.Good to the last bite! Would definitely order from here again."
"We went there for our 33d wedding anniversary. They were fully staffed, very attentive to our table and the food was excellent! Paapri Chat, Almond and Shrimp Coconut curry, and aloo paratha. Wine, beer and cocktail selection were excellent."
"Lovely! We dined in for Valentine's Day 2025 dinner with a reservation made online and when we arrived, all the tables had red tablecloths and red roses which we did not expect. So cute! We were greeted the moment we walked into the space and sat down next to a big window allowing us an opportunity to check out the action on Grand Ave. Our server was respectful and made frequent check-in's to our table. We got varying versions of masala, naan and samosa for our appetizer. Everything had great spice and was served perfectly warm. One of my goals is to eat more Indian food and therefore, I know I will be back. Thank you, Everest!!"
"I don't give my ancestors many reasons to be proud of me, but today's lunch at Namaste is one. The food we had was absolutely splendid, and with so much variety you're really spoiled for choice. We erred towards safety with this being our first visit and got the coconut curry (level 0 spice) and lamb biryani (level 3 spice), and both of these were fantastic; I'd say unless you have no spice tolerance, a 3 is a good place to start out.One of the runaway hits was the samosa chaat, easily a meal for one and incredible. The service was attentive even if busy - and busy speaks well to the restaurant's popularity. Something that stood out to me positively is that they prepare your food when you're ready for it, so it comes out as fresh as possible. A nice touch!"
"I went to India House with my boyfriend on a Saturday early evening for dinner. It is located within a larger building so you have to go through 2 entrances before entering the restaurant. India House has a good vibe as the table settings are nice and the service was prompt. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and the chicken tandoori with a side of cheese naan. Looking back I did not need to order the cheese naan as so much rice came with the chicken tikka masala. The chicken tikka masala was the best tikka masala I have ever had! In addition the chicken tandoori was incredible, the chicken was super flavorful and tender. I will definitely be coming back for more Indian food!"
"Enjoyed lunch with a group of 10 people during a weekday. All indicated dishes were good, including lamb saag, chicken tikka masala, beef vindaloo, shrimp and chicken tandooris, garlic naan. Atmosphere is pleasant and service was attentive."
"Ordered food for pickup at Zait & Za'atar. Parking was really easy and the staff was super friendly. It also looks like they have a great dining room so next time I would like to dine in!We ordered:Chicken Shawarma PlateBaba Ganoush (Small)Msakhan Chicken PlateFor two, this was the perfect amount! We had some leftovers. We took the food home and it was still enjoyable! Definitely a versatile spot that is great for takeout and is probably even better dine-in! I've never had Msakhan Chicken before but saw it was one of their more popular dishes on Yelp, I'm really glad yelp has this feature because it got me to try something new and it was great! Would love to try this dish at other restaurants too."
"Had this for the first time last week and it definitely won't be my last! I went for lunch with a friend and we were seated right away. They were definitely busy with take out orders but it didn't feel busy. My friend and I ordered the following:veggie samosas- 8/10 delicious! my only critique would be the amount of sauces they gave and the texture of the mint chutney was a little different than what I'm used to but the samosa itself was delicious garlic naan- 10/10 fresh and absolutely perfectly cooked!!chicken tikka masala- 9/10 wow the taste is fantastic but I wish we had more of it!!chana masala- 8/10 it was a great option for people who are vegetarians because the flavors are all there!I cannot wait to come back and honestly, everything was decently priced and I left feeling really full!"
"Heard good things about the food here so we decided to pop in for dinner. The atmosphere is top notch (love the fireplace) and the staff members were very welcoming. The food was amazing!!!! We will definitely be back"
"This is my local Indian go-to!! Everybody has their personal Indian spot and luckily for me it's one of the closer ones to my home - I would have been willing to drive for it though had it been further. The things that I would most recommend would be their tandoori murg and their tandoori shrimp. The tandoori murg has delicious, moist chicken thighs and legs that are served over tasty and pickle-y carrots anc onions. It is SO dang good!!! The shrimp is LOADED with spices and flavor and tends to be a little spicier than whatever level you tend to order it at, but it's so dang yummy!!! Together they're a perfect fusion. If you're looking for something a little saucier, their vindaloo is good, and I'd highly recommend their chicken with mushrooms - just all around solid food and a great value for what you pay! Also, if you're trying to get back to eating in restaurants, the place itself is a really classy little restaurant. It's got clean/modern classic vibes that you might not expect - perfect for a mid-week date night!!"

Didn't know I needed Chicken Thenkthuk in my life until coming here.Gorkha palace is fully responsible for taking my Tibetan food virginity and I think I'm in love Thenkthuk (Hand-pulled noodle soup - chicken, daikon, spinach, edamame, tomatoes, soy sauce) is a soup meant to keep nomads warm over a long Tibetan winter. It was warm, subtlety spicy, and deeply savory and flavorful - aka comfort in a bowl. It tasted familiar, yet unique and new - kind of like rediscovering a favorite song you used to listen to.Gorkha Palace is sort of a hidden gem IMO. The storefront is a bit easy to miss, but now it'll forever be on my mind. It's an Indian/Nepalese/Tibetan restaurant, so there's dishes (like thenkthuk) that you won't find at a typical Indian restaurant. Momo (Steamed dumplings - onion, cabbage, ginger, spices) is (are?) always so fun to eat, like little pockets of love tbh. The chicken coconut curry (Chicken, cucumber, basil, coconut curry sauce) was also delish, but not necessarily memorable. Garlic naan? Always a must. Great ambience. Easy parking. Service is really great. Food is authentic and delicious. Our table started with drinks. We tried Sex in Bollywood beach: yumPomegranate martini: double yumMango mojito: good Dinner was excellent. The naan comes at the end of the meal so next time I would ask for it at the beginning of the meal.

Food was good. Service was also good for the most part. However, I did feel like the server kind of ignored me and would only acknowledge the guy that I was with, several times. Parking is metered street parking.

First time here and was super excited to try Nepalese food, so didn't get many pictures (whoops). We had a table of 6 and ordered family style to share between all of us. Orders:Yak momo (12): DELICIOUS. Would 100% ordering this for anyone coming here. They were delicious. Cheese pakora: yummy deep fried cheese with a nice sauce - how could you go wrong?Naan: we ordered the garlic naan and butter naan. The butter naan was the best! Chicken thukpa: amazing soup with noodles. I wish we had ordered 2 of these. One was not enough. Chicken tikka masala: not bad, but not my favorite. I wouldn't order again because I liked everything else a lot better. Kabuli Chana: also v good! Came with rice. Though I still liked the soup and sides wayyy better. Overall, the service was great and it was a nice place to hang out and eat with friends. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu!

Now if you love Indian food THIS is the place to go. I love when we park at Namaste because you can smell the delicious spices from outside. The place is clean and modern looking. A couple of TVs for your enjoyment, one with Hindi music videos and the other of foodie places in India. I love a good Indian food place where there is a good mix of Indian folks AND American folks. This place appears to be a favorite to all! The food is always good. I love their lamb saag with medium heat. The chicken curry and tandoori murg with heavy hot spice level is right up my husband and son's alley! My other kids get chicken makhani mild. The appitzers - lamb sambusas, paneer pakora are seasoned and fried perfectly and the mint chutney they serve with it...good lord I could just drink gallons of the stuff! The basmati rice is always cooked to perfection as is the plain naan bread. The mango juice and mango lassi are also favorites. The staff is always helpful and courteous but the last time we went an amazing server was beyond kind. My daughter had nearly finished her mango lassi with a few sips left. The server took it before she could slurp it all up. She was sad about it since she loved it so much. The server apologized and gave her a free mango lassi to go! The gesture was so appreciated. As for why they call it a Brewhouse, I keep meaning to ask them. I forget all about that once I'm hypnotized by that amazing spice smell when we walk in.

India House is great for midweek takeout!I've ordered India House takeout through Uber Eats and their website, and have not been disappointed! While the heat was less than I preferred the first time I tried India House, the food was flavorful. I like to order two meals so I have leftovers, and I can usually stretch these meals to as many as four meals with India House's moderate portion sizes. I have tried the chicken vindaloo (yummy spice, gluten-free), palak paneer (comforting, vegetarian, gluten-free), and the chicken makhani (like a comforting butter chicken, gluten-free). All three are yummy meals that provide warmth and comfort! The service was quick and friendly when I picked up everything, and a decent number of patrons were eating in the restaurant for a weeknight. I would highly recommend India House if you want a relaxing, comfortable Indian Meal!

Appetizers:- Chili Pakora ($5.95). Five LARGE Pakoras (about the size of a small potato). The batter was soft (not crunchy) over a mild Chili Pepper. I expected a little more "heat", but the Pakora is tastes good and is enough to share.Entree:- India Special ($21.95). One word: HUGE! I wasn't expecting a full skillet of chicken, lamb, shrimp, onions, and tomatoes--Plus, the chicken curry bowl--Plus, a large Naan bread (your choice)--Plus, a bowl of Jasmine Rice! Definitely a shareable meal! My only complaint: I asked for very spicy, and it tasted normal spice. Maybe they figured a white boy like me can't handle the heat. Anyway, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!Drink:- Taj Mahal Beer ($8.00). It's a 24-oz bottle, so you get two "regular-sized beers" in one. Service; Fast, friendly, and they all smile--like they are happy you are here. Pretty rare for Servers these days. Ambiance: White Tablecloths, red cloth napkins, nice ambient cultural music. Tasteful art and decor. A tranquil dining environment. I felt very relaxed dining here. Other: They do a brisk business! Many takeouts and at 6:00 pm on a Wednesday, the dining room only had a few open tables. Overall: If you're staying at the DoubleTree (Roseville) next door--it's a no-brainer. Just go! Otherwise, you should still go. Great prices, great food, great service. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

"The food here is authentic and tastes great! They give you large portions! It does take a while for your food but that is because it's super fresh! I wish I could've experienced more of their food!"
"We were staying across the street at the A Loft hotel, and popped in not expecting much. As soon as we entered, I noticed a rhythm to the way the staff was working the room. Super efficient, friendly, and around *just enough* to get you your food, with nothing more. And the food?! Wow was it fresh. Some of the freshest Indian flavors I've had in recent memory. The bread was piping hot and delicious, and the house made pickles were a punch in the mouth with flavor. Matar Paneer is a dish I will ALWAYS get when I have the chance, and Spice & Tonic's was a delight. Super clean and refreshing. Honestly everything was so dang good, and my only complaint isn't really even a complaint as much as an observation - they don't do hot very hot. We ordered on the higher end of their spice spectrum (1-5 scale) and nothing raised our temp in the slightest. I am not sure what the Indian food scene in Minneapolis looks like, but Spice & Tonic sure is dang good. If you're in the neighborhood, give them a try!"
"Ordered takeout for a cozy night in and I feel ashamed that I have not eaten here sooner. The food from store to home was piping hot and cooked a perfection. The servings are fantastic for the prices. I ordered the chicken tikka, coconut rice and garlic naan. The chicken tikka was full balanced spice and had large chunks of delicious chicken breast. The coconut rice was probably the star of the show. I could not stop sticking my spoon into it. It was full of flavor and depth, and the cream from the coconut.. a must try. This place definitely falls into the category of a Chaska hidden gem!"
"In town for a conference and looking for some vegan food. Had a delicious eggplant dish. Perfectly spicy. Lots of flavor. The garlic naan was generous and delightfully crispy. I definitely recommend"
"Went here for a work birthday lunch and basically showed up right as it opened. Easy free parking and kind servers. Our party of 3 sat at a table with 5 chairs in an empty restaurant! The service was attentive but not clingy and the food was amazing. I'd love to get takeout or visit again for lunch -- dinner would be great here too."
"I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. Since stumbling across this gem, we have become regulars. Their menu has a multitude of combinations and each one of them is absolutely delicious. I'm craving as I type! What I love about this menu is that it has options for everyone in the group. There are vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Everyone that works there is so personable. Manjot & Amy are the best and at this point know our regular order by memory. I could list everything we've eaten and enjoyed, but this review would end up being pages long! Each dish has been delicious and I look forward to eating here and getting takeout regularly. If you was delicious Indian cuisine, this is the place to go!"
"The nephew, husband and I came here for dinner after round of golf and starving. We had never been before, but we're craving some delicious Non and our usual Indian restaurant was closed. I ordered the chicken, Josh, my husband ordered beef, kebabs, and my nephew got the chicken biryani. We had three orders of Non, and did not realize how large the portion sizes were! We left so full and it was all so delicious that we basically had another meal of exactly what we all ate the next day. Incredibly well priced, clean, and very, very friendly staff. They also gave usmango pudding as a complementary dessert."
"The owner is an absolute LEGEND, and the food is top notch! This was on our Hopkins bucket list since moving here, and it didn't disappoint. The owner is mainly doing takeout only right now, and since he was missing a staff member that night hadn't planned to provide dine in service. But he welcomed us in and gave great service! The CHAI. All I'm gonna say, is you have to taste it to believe it. Dreams really do come true. My partner wouldn't stop stealing sips!I got the butter chicken and it was flavorful and creamy- spot on. My partner got an absolute mountain of lamb biryani and he loved the flavors and sauce. The owner chatted with us when he was free and is a total gem. He had us laughing constantly! While we were there, several folks came in for takeout and one even paid for the next strangers' tab! You can tell this is a local favorite. We'll be back!"
"Got the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan for dinner. It was pretty good, but very oily, see pic, I've never had a chicken tikka so oily before. Overall it was good but not the best I've had."
"I love this place! My husband and I have eaten here many times this year. We've really been trying to support local restaurants during the pandemic. India Palace is our favorite place to stop when we're in Mankato. All of the staff are incredibly friendly. The food always comes out hot, fresh, and delicious. Our personal favorites are the garlic naan, the Gobi Manchurian Balti (favorite thing on the menu) and the Vegetable Biryani. Their chai and rice pudding are great options if you want something sweet. All in all, I would highly recommend visiting if you're in Mankato! There aren't a ton of local options, in the area but this is a true gem."
"Overall an excellent experienceNice clean restaurant, with great service. An extensive menu with flavors from all over India. The vegetable samosas were very yummyThe buttered chicken very flavorful and not bland as some can be.The assortment of chutneys also very nicely done.Next time in the area I will definitely dine here again."
"Simply wonderful food, I had the veggie samosas, chicken curry -hot and plain naan, it was excellent. A nice heat that builds slowly because it is an integral part of a rich curry sauce- not just hot for the sake of being hot. I will be back here e ery time I visit st Cloud."
"I went here with a friend after wanting to try an Indian Buffet in the twin cities area. A coworker of his recommended India Spice House. The food was pretty good. There was a decent variety of vegetarian options. My friend wished there were more meat options, especially for the price. The buffet was $25. The most we've ever paid for a lunch buffet! The staff were nice and answered questions on some of the items on the buffet that we were unsure about ingredients on. The place was pretty clean. Overall not a bad place to eat, although I've had better. My main reason for the current rating is honestly the price for what we received. Pretty steep for a predominantly vegetarian lunch buffet."
"A good amount of food that was tasty and the sauce on the side was great! Very authentic place. Looking forward to try their other dishes!"
"I dropped in for lunch and ordered the sag paneer and garlic naan bread. Both were absolutely delicious. Sag paneer had a heat bite to it, unlike many others I've had. A little hot, 10/10 for me. The garlic naan had the right amount of garlic, and together with the sag paneer, placed it in top tier of this dish I've eaten all over the world. The servers were very attentive and fun, and the music was lively. I highly recommend it."
"Yum! Perfectly spicy tikki masala coming right up! I ordered food for delivery and it was still hot when it showed up! Took only 30 minutes and was very reasonably priced. I'm easily getting 2+ meals out of one entree order. I got chicken tikki masala and it comes with white rice. It's a creamy orangish red curry that's got a bit of kick to it. One thing to note is you don't get any complimentary naan so make sure you add some to your order!"
"The food was good but the general vibe and cleanliness of the place was not. Place is a little ominous with basically a warning sign that people get sick from here, spiderwebs, everything looks beat to hell and back, and the restaurant name just exists on taped-up regular printer paper. They also had a sign on how to clean up vomit. That being said, nobody from my group is sick yet (it's been a few hours) and the food really was good. Tried the garlic and chili naan and both were solid, took the waitress' recommendation on the kadai chicken and it hit the spot. Good prices too for the gamble."
"This is from the same owner as Hyderabad Indian Grill and our Dosa delivery order actually came from a Hyderabad location. I guess you could consider this their secret delivery menu! I absolutely love Hyderabad so it's no surprise that I'd love Dosa. The Dosa menu has a bit more of a complex twist with items that take more time to craft. We ordered a Masala Chai, the Onion Chilli Uthappam, Hyderabad's Special Chicken Biryani, and the Madras Chicken Curry! Everything came with extra sauces and rice.I don't even know where to begin with this order. The curry was delicious, fragrant, and perfectly spicy. The biryani was also delicious with perfectly cooked rice as always. Very texturally pleasing across the board. The Uthappam I've never had before and it was absolutely heavenly. Fluffy spongey "bread" that I used as a utensil for everything else!"
"This was quite a lovely little spot. We had gone on a quiet evening, ourselves and another large party were there we were seated in a quieter back area and the staff was very polite. we ordered two different chicken entrees and naan (goat stuffed and garlic). Everything was delicious! The price was fair for what we got, and we had a ton of leftovers because the portions are generous! I'd highly recommend going here if you've not and I'll be returning!"
"Visited with friends this week. Great little place in NE, plenty of parking options. Our food was delicious, service great. This has become a favorite place."
"Got take out from here. Mango Lassi - Perfect balance of sweet and sour. Highly recommend Goat Curry - Delicious and the meat was tender. Cheese and Spinach - I forgot what this was called but it was my favorite dish. Garlic Naan - I prefer this over the rice. Great for dipping in the curry."
"Solid. I only ordered one item for lunch and it was so delicious and warming on this snowy day that I will be back to make my way through the menu!I'm not sure why, but I'm usually hesitant to order from places that have more than one location. I think I just expect the quality to go down, however, that was not the case with this place! I ended up getting the Chicken Vindaloo. The chicken & potatoes were super tender, all smothered in a THICK curry-like sauce that had a nice heat and touch of clove! It came with a large side of the fluffiest basmati rice I've ever been served!Note, when you order takeout make sure to put what spicy level you want in the instructions section! I just decided on a medium level and next time might request more heat!"
"Food - Fantastic. I'm no biryani expert, but I do know rice after living in Asia and let me tell you, this place knows how to cook some rice. Every kernel was separate, slightly chewy, and coated in the biryani spices. There were whole cardamom pods in my serving, which is wild considering the cost of those. The mango lassi had a beautiful contrast of thick but refreshing, and wasn't too sweet. I drank more than my fair share.Service - The host and server (same guy) was very kind and communicative when it took my order longer than expected to arrive. This review gets 4 stars from me simply because of the wait time being 30+ minutes. However this place seems to be quite new and I'm confident that they'll work out the kinks."
