"Love them! I buy their fresh salsas and made-to-order tacos often. The owners will personally greet you and make sure you get what you came for. I can never make it in the mornings for fresh pico and it sells out fast. They'll make it fresh for me if I ask and it is the best pico I've ever had. I need to try the fresh tamales but I highly recommend their tacos, which you can get at anytime."
"I took a cooking class here. I really like this grocery store. They have some really good deals. On Wednesday they have 50% off all their produce either organic or non. They rent out their community room for people doing cooking classes and fitness classes. I really love how much they give back to the community. I'll have to shop more here. Have not bought groceries here yet, but I have taken several classes at this location."
"Average grocery store except for the fact that the staff will carry items out to your car with and for you, and their deli selection is actually really good, along with the quality of their meat. A lil bit on the spendier side but thats ok cuz you are supporting a local business!!! They only get 4 stars though due to they have a very small selection in some areas of the store, which kinda sucks but oh well"
"I love this place and I was so excited to realize it was near my new neighborhood when we bought a home in 2020! I like to go randomly when I need a snack or something small (produce-wise) to complete a recipe I want. I love to look at all the odd snacks they get and see what I can try that I normally never would, for cheap! They also usually have a lot of great vegan food (cheeses, milks, sometimes meats, etc). that I can get at a huge discount. It's another great way for me to try brands I normally wouldn't buy due to cost. The shop is small so go on "off" hours so you can really look at everything and find a deal. The staff are always nice and talkative, they treat you like a real person. I love Mike's so much that I always get excited when I drive by a location I haven't been to but this Hilltop one is my hometown one, I always find something and even picked up Valentine's for our niece and nephew once. Always fun to see what they have!"
"Amazing authentic food. Come hungry.I recently moved here from California and I grew up eating authentic flavorful Mexican food so I was spoiled and then moved here and was worried about finding authentic Mexican food. This place is my holy grail. Check out the restaurant and get thier pastor tacos or thier quessabirra with the consome broth. Separate from the restaurant is the market and they have great tamales as well as other meats and beans for the busy on the go Mexican food lover. 10/10 would recommend."
"Really good pupusas and carne asada! Service is friendly but can take a while depending on how full the place is."
"$1 tacos on Tuesdays but they only offer steak or chicken. Both were kind of underwhelming as far as tacos go. The beans were amazing though. I have a feeling they had a LOT of fat in them though because no bean on it's own tastes that good. Also, fried plantains! A bit expensive, but delicious!"
"Convenient location, small parking lot, I like to get fresh veggies here selection is local and seasonal."
"Cashwise used to be the low price leader in the area, but they are not so any longer. Owned by Coborns, Cash Wise is a budget grocery store located in Waite Park. They've recently renovated the store and added a new, larger natural foods area that is very nice. You can find most of what you're looking for at this store, and the employees are generally friendly and helpful. Countless times I've asked where certain items are located (since they're no longer where they used to be after the renovation). And countless times, friendly employees have directed me in the right direction.I like that I can find some hard-to-find items here, like my absolutely favorite barbecue sauce. There's a deli, a bakery, a butcher, a florist, and even a small cafe on-site that is popular with the older crowd. Located near the Crossroads Mall, this is a popular and central location for grocery shoppers. Aldi, which is located about a block and a half away generally has lower everyday prices, especially on milk and eggs."
"My first time here...LOVE the bakery & deli. The fried chicken dinner is fabulous! The coleslaw is flavorful and the fried chicken outstanding. Their bakery items are very good as well. The staff was very friendly. Will definitely be back."
"Good banh mi sandwich! Had the bbq one with extra meat. This is a Vietnamese grocery store so it has more items and food specifically for the Viet community vs other chinese grocery store."
"I happened to be out and about running some errands and needed some magnesium. I search to see what co-op I could find between where I was and were I was heading next. This is were I ended up.If I could have vote to have a standard of what a co-op SHOULD be, THIS PLACE IS IT!!! They had SO many cool things I have never seen at my local co-op, nor many of the other ones I frequent. They had the bulk sections, the beautiful product, dinning seating area, awesome supplement and personal care, lots of cool baby things...All that and the cozy co-op feel that I love."

A new small Mexican Market in the Neighborhood, the owners are very nice, they have different kind of Mexican food ready to serve or some a la carta, they also have some Salvadorian food like pupusas, plátanos fritos, if you want to buy some meat for your bbq this is the place you can find some Mexican cuts. They have Barbacoa de Res, Lamb, Pupusas, tacos, tamales, birria de lamb, carnitas, buche, agua de piña, orchata, etc.I know they are just starting so hopefully they can add more items in the future. I am Mexican and I love to see my people growing in business in Minnesota. Keep it up my friends...! Y muchas felicidades en su nuevo negocio..!!!

I'm very glad that this store is in my neighborhood, and that they are seeking to improve the lives of People of Color. I'd originally found the place right before it opened when I got lost in my new neighborhood. I could not remember the name of it, so I searched Yelp until I found it again. When I entered the produce section, I happened to notice that there was a yoga class happening nearby. I smiled and felt a little jealous of the participants because my flexibility to do even a basic pose is wanting. The store is small and easy to navigate. North Market is refreshingly clean and without advertisements from national companies. The selection is a mix of small companies providing organic, sustainable foods, and the giant agri-businesses one would expect in a grocery store. The relaxed atmosphere was great to experience, especially as I didn't really want to be in a store at all. Since there wasn't really any food in the house, I figured that I'd better get something. I bought some sambusa (crazy-delicious, gluttony-inducing morsels they are), some chicken pupusa, cans of tuna (wild, line caught), some Bai, and some organic, cage-free eggs. The total spent was just under $45. Yes, I know that this sounds like much, and maybe it was. Other than the Bai, everything was organic and small-batch foods. And, I'm the woman who's paid $15 for an organic, seeded watermelon (I don't eat those gross seedless things). I felt good about my purchases. The young lady at the register was friendly and noticed that I'm left handed. She said that she wished that she were left handed. I told her that my son is the aberration because he's right handed. His dad and sister are left handed, like me. We laughed and said good night.I will be back. I'm very glad that this place exists.

Attention mum lovers: Mikes Discount Foods has the jumbo size for $10!!! This was my first time at this store as I found it from a Facebook post, I will be back. Who dosnt love a good deal? The only downside is the store is disorganized and a little harder to find what you may be looking for. I assume this is how they keep the costs low so it is what it is. Tons of good deals on household supplies, food items, and more. Worth a stop especially for the mums.

If you want to try ethnical food and some exotic but not extremely exotic go and try this place. It's a grocery store with a small restaurant inside. They have food from Honduras, El Salvador and some Mexican. I tried "pupusas" and tamales from El Salvador and they are GOOD! The Pupusas are like thick tortillas with a filling inside it can be filling with cheese, pork or beans. Or you can ask for mix pupusas they will have three different fillings inside. From Honduras they have "single Baleadas" or "special baleadas". They look like burritos. The single ones they have sour cream, refried beans and scramble eggs. The special ones they have almost the same plus steak. Also in their menu they have a couple of soups like beef soup and chicken soup. Just remember these soups aren't creamy or thick in consistency. They also have a seafood soup. the bowls for the soups are big you want to have an empty stomach to accommodate all the soup.

A delightful surprise. On my way to Woodbury, saw a sign that states taco platter $4.99. I was hungry and can't say no to fresh taco. The restaurant is situated within the back of a grocery store. There are enough seats for 20 people, it's cute and a classic family run shop. Price: you can't go wrong with 3 tacos, rice and beans for $5. Simple ingredients prepared straight forward. The tortillas were made fresh since I saw a lady in the back grilled them in the back. It has a nice cheewy yet crunchy texture. The beef was marinated with salt, pepper, cilantro and lemon juice. The combination of onion, more cilantro, and the red and green sauce was sublime. I didn't eat the rice since I'm trying to stay away from the carbs. The best part of the meal was the bean. It's weird for me to conceptualize and get excited over beans. But yet, these beans had some great depth of flavors. You could taste the pork flavor, cumin, and oregano that has been soaked into the beans. It was good enough that I ordered an extra portion to go. Damm, it was good!!!!Life is strange sometimes; I've been disappointed on various occasions dining at high end establishments, yet only to be swept off my feet as something as simple as beans!!!If you're driving on east 94 in downtown St. Paul, get off the 7th exist and make your way to this gem!!!!

A convenient location for me and my family. They are the only ones near me who are open early and have the best produce/items at their location.

"I needed chicken feet to make chicken soup so I stopped in & hit pay dirt. Nicely stocked Mexican grocery + a small restaurant. Yes! They had my chicken feet at a competitive price. The produce section has plenty of peppers, cactus & other items for Mexican cooking. People working here are nice too."
"First time coming here, this store reminds me so much of the Mustard Seed Market I visited years ago in Akron, Ohio. Great, clean store with plenty of great store amenities such as hot soup, some hot food. Great selection of meats. It's a smaller store compared to larger stores, great array of healthy choices and various hard to find items I've never seen before. Check out lines aren't too long. Staff was friendly. Plenty of parking in the back."
"I really like this Asian grocery. It is clean and well organized, with a good selection including many Taiwanese items and seafood offerings even broader than what you might find at United Noodle / Coastal Seafood."
"Bruce's Food's is the best small town grocery store that I have ever shopped. There is plenty of parking, friendly staff, very comfortable and clean interior and a great selection and pricing! On occasion I have stopped in for their lunch specials ( Taco Thursdays) and used their seating area in the store."
"This United Noodles packs a good amount of specialty items into a small shop. It's much smaller than its MPLS sister store, but features items like: fresh produce, hot grab-and-go snacks and meals, Asian condiments, instant noodles, frozen treats, stoneware... They also carry my favorite brand of kimchi (5000 Years Foods), but sadly they're out of stock 50% of the time I've been. Oh and my favorite chili crisp, Lao Gan Ma, is here too! They are of course lacking in some areas, but that just makes sense due to the size. There is no fresh packaged meat or seafood, but you can find some frozen. And for some reason it smells like an Abercrombie & Fitch in there? Could be worse I suppose...Lastly, they enforced very safe guidelines during COVID, which I appreciated greatly!"
"This grocery/deli is a great stop on the Eastside for groceries or a delicious meal midday... I'd say I get lunch here once a week!As far as grocery stores go, it obviously has choice Asian groceries but also recently expanded and is now a place where you can get all your favorite American snacks too. One thing I recently noticed is that they have LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE BEVERAGE OPTION IN THE WORLD. Seriously.. their drink section is an endless array of every kind of soda, water, energy, coffee, herbal, coconut, juice, etc., that ever existed. It's quite impressive. What I really go for is the deli in back. They make REALLY delicious Pad Thai and sell them in to-go containers in the back. So for the unbelievably cheap price of $3.99, I can take out an enormous portion of incredibly tasty pad thai. It's definitely worth trying, and I've been known to make it last for 2 meals, and at that price tag, that's a thrifty day's worth of eating!!!BONUS: For some reason, and I may be late to the party on this one, some grocery goods are FAR less expensive in Asian markets than in Rainbow or Cub, etc. For example, I buy some veggies and all my GINGER here, and it's identical to the kinds that cost more at other groceries. Weird, but a cool trick I've learned."
"Location is very convenient. Don't have to go to bigger grocery stores. Prices are reasonable. Hopefully they will carry organic items soon. I see they always make sure that their produce is fresh and that they don't have expired items. Cashiers are never moody. Love that they offer help to your car. I didn't think much of this place when I moved here in Feb 2016, but I've seen positive change and this little grocery store has grown on me."
"I was somewhat surprised there aren't more reviews for this old fashioned yet modern grocery, bakery, deli in the middle of one of Minnesota's most historic area. Bikers, both gas powered and peddled, stop in every weekend during the warmer months. There is a build your own sandwich area in the deli as well as a wide variety of freshly made wiches including some of the best pastrami I've had since a visit to a famous deli in Chicago. Standard groceries a wide variety of soft drinks and hot coffee. Benches in front to gaze and munch and be sure to check out the check out with what may be the original wooden counter restored to pristine shape. Don't worry the modern scanning terminal is in place."
"Such a great market. We come here for fresh meats and fish. They don't have the large quantity groceries, but they have a good selection of premium groceries. The prime rib is the finest, the pre-marinated fish is delicious as are the marinated shrimp. They also have a quiche to go that makes a quick and delicious breakfast. Service is always fast and the store is well kept with close parking."
"Jubilee is a very convenient grocery store in Mound. The staff is usually nice and helpful. Only disappointment is their prices are way higher than average grocery store. The last time I bought a steak from there it was inedible as it was full of tendons and very chewy. They do not supply as many options as a traditional grocery store such as Cub Foods. Overall I go to Jubilee for very basic needs and out of convenience."
"Where in the entire city can you get real red Thai chicken curry for $8.95?? Nuff said. This place is the deli in the back of an Asian market, one of the best finds ever! They have a variety of Thai and Hmong dishes, such as stir-fries, noodle soups, Thai and Hmong salads, and of course curry, along with deli stewed meat, Hmong sausage, and BBQ meats. No I did ask if they pounded their own curry paste, which they do not. Ok so that's why it's not $15. Anyways it was great nonetheless. And it's a lot of food. I should have probably shared it... lol."
"I participated in a virtual Nourush 201 Summer Series cooking class 'Black Bean Burgers' with Chef Jess Delicious Toliver through Seward Community Co-op Nourish 101 program. The class was excellent. Very fun and educational. They provided the list of ingredients, equipment and recipe in advance so you could be prepared and prep in advance and cook along at the same pace as the chef and enjoy dinner afterwards. We mashed the beans (or you could use a food processor). And chopped the veggies. (chef used fresh, I sautéed mine first I just don't care for onion or raw garlic). Add spices (cumin, Hot paprika, pepper, salt, and sauce. We eat an egg ( or you can make Chia seed egg) and you could add breadcrumbs. We then mixed with our hands and formed patties. One can of black beans makes four burgers. As we cooked, host Lasked questions and also relayed our questions from the chat. Chef Jess provided her background and how she got into the cooking and being a personal chef now and trying to make healthy meals and promote wellness through food. She gave lots of suggestions on various summer meals and a variety of veggie burger combinations. And showed us how to chop the vegetables and provided the knife she prefers. She gave us tips on photographing food from above not the side (Check out my cool hands in the air photos) Made mine with black beans, poblano, peppers, carrots. onions, egg and buffalo sauce. (I sautéd the veggies with garlic and herbs) we baked the burgers in oven. Chef Jess used Sriracha. But she gave us lots of suggestions in how to make it your own. she gave alternates if you wanted to make it vegan or gluten-free or dairy free etc. (I am pescatarian). As far as assembling the burgers. I fried two eggs. And sliced an avocado, tomato and some radishes Topped with the buffalo sauce (use sour cream instead of mayo), avocados, radish, and tomato and served on mixed greens. You don't need no stinking bread. Yum. They turned out so good. And so filling. I'll be making again. Next time with garbanzo beans.Thank you Chef Jess! And thank you seaward community co-op /Lawson for hosting."
"Supreme Asian Market in Brooklyn Park! I only wish it were closer to our house! Lots of choices and fresh veggies and meats. I really enjoyed the rice cake from their deli!"
"Authentic mercado with authentic tamales (tamales & fresh foods on weekends). 6 fresh tamales (they were still warm) for $10-3 of each (3 green chicken & 3 spicy red pork). I made a mistake-I should have gotten MORE! They were so tasty and fresh! I was also impressed with the varied types of cheeses that they sold. I can't wait to get back there for more tamales (and to check out other items)"
"Truly authentic Mexican grocery and restaurant. I love this place and today went out of my way to pick up ingredients for enchiladas. While there, I also picked up fresh guac, shrimp ceviche and fresh mole. Everything is wonderful and super friendly staff. It's a really clean market and the selection is muy bueno!Def recommend!"
"This place is where it's at. A little "mom & pop" type joint in a largely student populated area. A good place to grab a snack, some pizza rolls, or even some cigs (if that's your fancy). They are open until 11 or so every night and always accommodate my late night munchie needs."
"This is a great local neighborhood Mexican market. I come here to get the cooked pork, jalapeño salsa and rice from the deli. Simply the best pork and salsa. Great selection of fresh items at the best prices. The spices and sauces are always available. Besides the great food is the service. I have asked numerous times how to make a particular dish and they are willing to help me out. I try to make authentic food and not of Mexican decent but they are always so nice. They know me no...they come up to me when I look lost. Lol. Not sure if the are related to Andale on Nicollet but the selection and service her is so much better. BYW...we had a graduation party catered with some of their items!!! They are the best!!"
"I was in the area visiting family and had to compare you know. This store is bigger and entrance area has this long tunnel/breezeway for carts. Seems to be designed weird. The layout was a little different than my Burnsville store also. This store had some self checkouts. The employees were encouraging people to use them but didn't get many takers. They had less cameras for sale here. The cashier stated this store is larger than others in MN."
"6/2/22: Conveniently located a few minutes from our friends' house, I'd say Jerry's Foods is comparable to Whole Foods in terms of prices & selections. What's cool is that there's a small Starbucks inside with plenty of seating downstairs, and "The Loft" upstairs, for more seating. You don't typically see that in a grocery store setting. I should've taken photos. Next time! There's plenty of free parking. Overall, it's a good place to swing by if you need something quick, but don't wanna drive over to Target or Trader Joe's, which is on the other side of Woodbury."
"Smoked fish, homemade breads and a plethora of products and flavors you simply won't find anyplace else! If you're scared of trying new things, this isn't the place for you... but if you're like me and you love exploring different cuisines, Paradise Market is a treasure hunt! I grabbed a cold smoked trout, just like my German grandfather used to make! Cold smoked fish is so hard to find so I'll be back just based on that fact alone! But we also picked up some of the fresh breads and pastries and were very pleasantry surprised! Flavor sensations all! I can't stress this enough... if you're looking for something to spice up your diet be brave! Push past language barriers and try anything and everything that catches your fancy! Such fun!"
"This is the place we go to get our annual ribeye roast for the Yule dinner I prepare. Since it's impossible to go through this store and only stick to what's on the list, I bring home a lot more. I think of Macenthun's as the "target" of food. There are always wonderful things that catch your eye that have to come home with you. In addition to the roast, staples are the summer sausage and beef sticks. I have to talk myself down from a ledge with both because they're so delicious. I get two summer sausage and two or three packs of the beef sticks. I looooooove the jalapeno cheese ones the most. The garlic summer sausage is amazing, too. While they cannot control how people choose to navigate the store (not social distancing) in some ways, I was glad to see arrows and markings to help get through the store in the same quick, efficient pre-Covid ways we had. The staff, regardless of function, had on masks, which gave me a good sense of relief. Of course there were customers who weren't. Anyway, the meat counter men (I haven't seen a woman/female working it yet) are all friendly and answer questions. They will cut things to order, which is very helpful. Sometimes I get two roasts and have one cut into steaks. The prices are comparable to other quality shops. No, they are not cheap. Good meat shouldn't be cheap, so I've no problems with the costs involved. The aisles are wide and things are easy to find. Prices are clearly marked on the shelves or directly on products themselves. The store is always clean looking, as well. All the staff I've encountered have been friendly and helpful. If you're looking for quality meats, and friendly service, this is the place."
"During the summer our family gets produce from the Common Grounds CSA down the road at St. Bens. So when we are in the area we swing by and pick up any other groceries that we might need for the rest of the week. Our favorite items are the bulk bin dry goods, local farm eggs, and local artisan bread. The prices are a little higher then the big box grocers, but because you are buying high quality food from local suppliers you get a free dose of karma with every purchase."
"Off the beaten path in Midway sits one of those Deli inside a grocery store. It is close enough to work that I stop by every once in a while nowadays to pick up one of the most underrated Philly Steak Sandwiches - Kaiser bun, very thinly shaved steak, minced garlic, thinly sliced bell peppers & onions and that damn goddamn delicious cheese. Ooh Wee. The menu posted above the kitchen says they make other sandwiches as well and they seemed to have wings, chicken strips and Catfish Tilapia at bargain price. This deli has had a different menu about 3-4 times in the last year alone. Come to find out, the Deli was leased to others who were cooks but the grocery owner has now decided to keep it in the family and has his wife cooking up the delicious Philly. How do I know this? When I checked in thru Yelp, I supposedly was going to get 1 Free small Fry and it also said "All Yelp customers dining with us will receive 15%". I found out this was "maybe, put on Yelp by the previous cooks", that's what the guy behind the register said. Yelp also seems to think that '$15 for $20 deal' It still is advertising is probably good. Tip: Call to make sure they're open. The deli hours are supposedly 10-8pm. They were not open at 1:00 pm in the afternoon sometimes."
