"Healthy takeout breakfast (surprise!)Since having to make a few dietary adjustments, eating out has not been the easiest. However, I was very pleased when my husband brought home breakfast from a local favorite among Lakevilleans: BuckboardHe ordered me a low-sodium mushroom omelette with a hint of cheddar and side of fruit (the menu item below had substitutions, fruit was subbed for toast). Also - this was take-out, so I got to enjoy in the comfort of home. But a beautiful breakfast and one I felt quite comfortable eating. Please note - the restaurant does have the atmosphere of a diner - so, not a very romantic spot. However, the staff will work hard to ensure a solid meal."
"The food is great, never a bad meal here. The hours are great and you can't beat the service. Our server was handling over 4 tables and we never had to ask for refills. The ambiance gives the old dinner feel."
2 buttermilk pancakes packed with delicious cookie dough, drizzled with chocolate and topped with whipped cream. Embrace the nostalgia. Single pancake option available.

"Cheers to a magical evening at Forepaugh's! Surrounded by good company and the charm of this historic gem, we're ready to celebrate the season in a setting that feels like stepping back in time. So happy we finally made it to this lovely spot. Make a reservation for your next date night & experience the enchanting historic ambiance of Forepaugh's, where every corner whispers tales from the 19th century. Dine in a beautifully restored Victorian mansion, complete with stunning architecture and elegant decor. Some of the most incredible food I've had in Saint Paul .The service was incredible, very welcoming and generous. Overall, this spot has an incredible ambience and aesthetic. The parking is fairly easy there is valet for $15 or there is a lot that you can pay for right across the street for five dollars."
"McRick?Wandered in here after absolutely no one would help us at a place down the street. By no one I mean, the waitress said, "I can take your drink order but that's it."As the kids say, whatevs. It was as though the table at Downtown Diner was waiting for us - a table for 6, we had 5 and big purses. There was one hard working her ass off waitress who was quick with drinks, food taking, delivery and all our special requests.I had the McRick special. I'm assuming Rick is the cook? It was eggs, sausage and cheese on a croissant with hash browns. I also had one pancake. The food came out super hot and delicious! 2 of us had to wait for our pancakes because "they ran out of room on the grill." I see why, the pancakes were the size of, and I'm not kidding, a small to medium pizza. The 5 of us could have shared a couple orders, but either way, we enjoyed our food and service. Less than $10 for that big old pancake and the sandwich. I ate like I hadn't eaten in weeks."
"Cute place went for brunch and it was delicious the buffet all the food was hot and FILLED which meant never had to wait to get something. The eggs Benedict was the way it should be runny middle and not a-lot of hollandaise but just enough .... Bloodys made to specification and delicious will definitely be back"
"Tony's has some of the most amazing breakfast I've had in a long time. Located in Dinkytown in the college area. Breakfast is not my fave meal but this place put a smile on my face. It's hard to find good diner authentic quality. This places checks off that box. I ordered a loaded hash brown with mushrooms, onions and tomatoes with avocado toast. Be warned the avocado toast does come with an egg though it wasn't listed. They kindly remade it for me because I can't have dairy. I was even able to order a mimosa at this lovely place. Highlight is the most delightful habanero hot sauce that was made by a local. I wish they sold it by the bottle because I would have bought a couple. The green was my favorite. Everyone at our table enjoyed their food. I will be back on every Minneapolis trip I have in the future."
"Great food not one complaint from a group of 8. The staff was very friendly and the helpings were enough to fill up the average person all day. I will be back!!"
"Both my husband and I had the walleye. Loved it and the rice pilaf. Wait staff was good and really wonderful attention to details. The treat at the end was the crème brûlée! Oh my gosh so unique and beautiful presentation."
"What a quaint neighborhood gem serving a delicious breakfast with great service! My parents and I were able to get a table right away here after checking 3 other brunch locations that had over an hour wait on Easter Sunday. The breakfast menu is a bit on the smaller side but I was able to order an espresso martini, the breakfast tacos, a side of bacon, and we split an order of 2 of their huge pancakes. I thought the potatoes in the tacos took away from the chorizo and egg flavor but the side of bacon was so perfectly cooked I had to order another serving! The heritage flour pancakes were also very fluffy and tasty. With my parents visiting from NJ, the location was convenient also because we got to see the George Floyd memorial right after breakfast. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back soon and enjoying their outdoor patio with my food!"
"Nice greeting, fast service, very attentive. Great tasting food! Coffee was excellent. Breakfast was great. Service was outstanding."
"Great food (I had the Philly Cheese Steak) at fair prices. Saw a band out back and the concert space is great. Free popcorn (As it should be) and the bartenders were fast and friendly. Always appreciate a great local place where you can be yourself and have a good time!"
"Amazing food and the best service! also jami and shaunie are the best bartenders and super nice!"

It's been 5 years, so I figured it was time for an update! This spot is STILL one of my favorite greasy spoon brunch spots, with a legendary serving team that's been around for ages, all your favorite classic foods, and that feeling of community (or are we just all hungover together?) on a weekend morning.I'll keep this update short and sweet - here are some of my faves:- BYO omelet- corned beef hash- cajun breakfast (ask for the hollandaise on the side to smother on your own)- lunch: cubano (get the sweet potato tots as a side!)- my partner loves their pancakes and cinnamon rolls - I always order a chocolate milk heheThis place just feels like community and nostalgia, and I love that. Loading up on eggs and hashbrowns for weekend brunch just hits the spot!

We took my in-laws to Forepaugh's as a Christmas gift and we had a great experience! Our server, Jack, was wonderful and did a great job making us feel celebrated. My mussels were flavorful and cooked well, and everyone else enjoyed their entrees as well, even my picky father-in-law. The fries were crispy and came with an addictive sauce. We were seated on the top floor which helped make it a quieter atmosphere where we were easily able to talk. Overall, a nice, upscale experience that was enjoyed by our whole group.

This is a very divey diner. It was very casual. The employees were very friendly and good to our kids. My husband had the special of the day (some sort of meat platter), I had French toast and bacon and the kids had pancakes. Everyone was happy with their meals.

Tony's Diner, is I'm sure, a staple at the U. I'm not usually around the Dinkytown area, but a place that serves breakfast all day is like a neon beacon. I got the Basic Tony's breakfast. Eggs, hashbrowns, choice of meat, and toast. The serving size is such that I don't think you'll leave Tony's hungry. It was good, just a regular ole breakfast. Prices are decent and service is fairly quick and friendly. Parking is not the greatest, but loads of public transportation spots around.

We had a very large group of family members and the staff did a good job with everyone given the conditions. The food was excellent and I would highly recommend the Parmesan crusted walleye. It was not a heavy batter but just perfectly covered. I really enjoyed this place and would go back to explore more of the menu.My wife on the other hand didn't have as good as experience as I did. She ordered the deviled eggs and the whites were hard and rubbery. She ordered her steak medium rare and it came medium well. She told our server about it and she seemed annoyed. She did offer to re-fire it and I took her up on it as I paid $36 for it. The second one was rare but better. Her sister also ordered a steak. Her meal never came. Even after my wife's re-fire came out her's still had not. When we were about to leave after 1.5 hrs and our bill was brought to us the steak came out. They didn't discount any of her steak which was odd since everyone else was done eating and ready to leave when hers came out. My son also never received his meal and when she told the waitress she argued with her about it and finally said she would take it off the bill. Two different experiences and hopefully room to improve as I really liked the walleye. I would still go back to give them another chance.

"I have come here from time to time and i have to say that Angie will always take care of you no matter how busy it is. When i come to this establishment its like i am visiting family. The pancakes and fodero breakfast are my go to but everything on the menu is fabulous. Pancakes are made to order and eggs are fresh, i couldn't be happier. Chase is so wonderful to talk to and very hardworking and accomodating. 5 star food and 5 star staff."
"stopped by here today at 1:30 hoping for a quick lunch with my elderly mom. Since they close at 2, we were told the frier had already been turned off... no problem - we each got a taco salad (we were going to go without the shells, but they had 2 already fried/puffed). The salads were wonderful with a REAL tomato, fresh onion and nice lettuce. salsa and sour cream were on the side (which I liked). nice amount of flavorful meat. We'll be back to try more!"
"This was just how I remember it!!! Convention grill use to be my favorite place to go when I was a kid so I had to try it out again when it reopened! It feels exactly the same just looks a little cleaned up, maybe new paint? Looks great!!! We all got burgers and shared a regular fry. Hot tip, the regular fries were way too many for 4 people, could have sized down. As I'm gluten free I was excited they had gluten free buns and made my shake without malted milk!! Seriously I was so excited I could have all my faves still. The food prices are amazing but the quality is even better. You can't beat fresh cut fries! I made a custom shake, had to have their famous hot fudge and banana! Wow was it very banana forward but amazing! Make sure you make room for any of their ice cream treats. Also I got a half order of a malt and it was 2 full glasses, such a great deal!"
"Was on vacation in the Webb Lake area a few weeks ago, and someone we met at the resort we were staying at highly recommended Glider's. So stopped in here on a Friday evening for a few drinks and dinner. Atmosphere was good, staff was amazing, and the food was super amazing! Between the four of us, we got the jumbo shrimp and fish fry. Both really good! And the owner is really friendly and funny. The locals here are also really easy to strike up conversation with. Definitely recommend coming here!"
"Delicious comfort food in a comfortable setting. Great value and delicious. Special shout-out to Jayden who was particularly fantastic. He takes pride in his work and is great with the customers. Management made a great decision hiring Jayden!"
"Great food and service. Love their Reuben sandwich! Always friendly and food comes out of the kitchen fairly quick."
"The drinks and food are consistently good - we come here regularly and they always have some items on a rotating menu to keep things fresh, which we appreciate!"
"This 24 hr Diner was located across the street from our hotel so we were able to conveniently walk over whenever we were in the mood for some tasty food! Though the down side is that they take a long time...both times that we've gone, there was either 1 or 2 servers for the entire restaurant floor and it would be hectic with the amount of parties coming in as well. If you have the time to sit and wait for the food or even to have your order taken, I definitely would try them out! We got their Frickles (Fried Pickles), Poutine, and Chicken Wings with Dry Jerk Seasoning. The fried pickles were delicious paired with their ranch sauce. My second favorite was their chicken wings which were huge! It's only 5 pieces but it's including the drum stick and wing together. Overall, their food is delicious and if we're ever back, we'd come back to try their other goodies. The ambiance is an old school diner vibe. There are shows on certain days on the rooftop/upstairs. There's a security guard that checks IDs at the door as well."
"Very friendly. Good food. Pulled pork very nicely made. Did not love the fries ... a bit too thin for me and more skin than potato. Would go again and would recommend. Nice beer list and other non alcoholic beverages."
"I so badly wanted to give this place 5 stars after the impeccable service, but unfortunately the burger I had almost make me sick afterwards. It was really dry and I only ate half of it. Definitely a frozen patty that isn't the best quality of meat. I don't think I'll ever have their burgers again, but I would try another option on their menu.Their malts are fantastic though and you get a lot for the price!"
"Leasha was exceptionally attentive and helpful with recommendations. A glass of Chardonnay was delivered to the wrong person, and was promptly replaced. Expensive menu but worth it for a special event. The beauty of this rooftop restaurant is a real treat. Food is delicious and we all agreed. My lobster roll was a real treat!"
"Time - Sunday morning 8AMPlace - Eggy's on 14th StreetUs - two seniorsI was quite impressed by the variety on the menu which always makes decisions difficult. My wife, on the other hand, always gets a short stack, no matter we go.The service was prompt and friendly. The food came to the table quickly, and hot.I had the Cinnamon Bun pancakes, half order, which was a good portion size. A full serving would have been enough for two.Definitely a go to spot if I am back in town for breakfast."
"Recently moved nearby so figured I'd give it a try. Menu is decently priced and they staff is very friendly. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries, while the burger was great, I'm not a fan of string fries. I prefer regular cut fries. This is my only complaint. I will come back and try the breakfast."
"Cute little diner, Staff was super friendly and gave us good recommendations. I would come back just for the chocolate malt!!! One of the best ones I've ever had!"
"Awesome coffee roasters and a fantastic breakfast spot. I wish I were staying longer than four days--this would definitely be my regular go-to!Recommendation: The Tanzania coffee was a delightful touch--highly recommend it to any coffee lovers looking for a special treat!"
"If context were a part of the rating then this would be four stars as sits surrounded by a bevy of fast food choices. The service was very sweet, the parking was wide open (even though there s number of other tables besides ours), and the decor was entertaining. Actually, my daughter and I would occasionally point out unique and interesting items throughout our meal. She said her steak and potato dinner was delightful and my patty melt did not disappoint. The star for me were the onion rings. They had great flavor and light breading. If they had a sauce besides ketchup they might have been a five, especially if you include value.Overall, a good meal at a great price from a cozy restaurant in a little town."
"Today, I had lunch here with a couple friends. I've heard mixed reviews on the place, and diners aren't really my thing, so I wasn't expecting much. I did plan on only ordering diner food, because that's what diners do well. :) I was quite surprised with my meal. I got the Fiesta Omelet w/hashbrowns and toast. The omelet was spicy! It had lots of jalapeños in it. It was really good! The hashbrowns were good after adding a little salt. My friend got the Cajun Omelet, which was tasty, but not spicy at all. The service was good. I would go back here."
"THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!!!! So if you are looking for a good old school diner and want to eat some great breakfast/brunch food then this is the place. The location is a bit small but worth the wait. The food has been delicious. I have tried the pancakes (which are huge btw), corned beef hash, omelets and more. All have been good. The best thing about this place is the feel of an old diner when you eat here. The place is a little run down but has a good worn look to it. This location unfortunately is about 45 mins away from where i live but i still try to make it out here a couple times a month."
"I've lived in Minnesota for decades and had never dined here before. My sister flew in from Kansas and I decided she was the perfect person to share the experience with. The food was great!"
"If you are in the Cable area and desire a solid, hearty meal, then this is the place to stop. The owner is intimate with the daily operations and insures you have a great experience. I have been visiting this cafe for years and never once have I been disappointed. Portions are very large and pricing is very reasonable. Check out the pics from my most recent trip up north. I love this cafe."
"The husband and I split the chicken fried steak breakfast and the apple fritter French toast breakfast. Everything came out piping hot and cooked perfectly. Delish! Our server was super friendly and had jokes!"
"Recently moved to Rochester and kept seeing the pig on the building. Finally came for breakfast and so glad. Super friendly server. Both my daughter and I enjoyed our breakfast. Pancake super fluffy and yummy. Will be back soon"
"Fantastic food and service. Very nice place and easy to get into. Well decorated with lots of menu options for everyone."
