"Hey Travoodies Let me say the say the atmosphere definitely local, friendly and yum. I just hate I couldn't sit to enjoy it. If you didn't see the reel, broken glass and my finger had a tussle. This neighborhood restaurant and bakery bustled with smiling faces from staff to patrons. What I ordered: The Biscuit Sammie! A cheddar buttermilk thyme biscuits with a maple fennel sausage layered with delicious was everything. My only disappointment was that with the situation occurring I was not able to eat it hot. I believe it would have been chefs kiss. So I have to do a redo... I also ordered a cinnamon roll, which I later enjoyed. It was a lot bread but yummy all the same. I would share it next time because it was alot for me! Overall it is a place I want to try again."
"Just a hole in the wall bakery, but service was awesome, and super patient. Donuts were super tasty. Hot honey maple bacon, wow.Everything was fresh and wonderful."
"I ordered a cake for a baby shower. I had no idea what I wanted. They helped me come up with the perfect idea to go with my color theme. I could not have been more pleased. They also made a mini cake exactly like it for my mother-in-law who could not attend. The cake was not only gorgeous, it also tasted amazing.Thank you so much for making my event extra special."
"Tried this place because of a Groupon I bought. Always a bit skeptical about reviews claimimg the "best frosting ever" as I have been looking for that in the Cities but have yet to find. Well, I can say they absolutely DO HAVE THE BEST FROSTING ever!!! Light and fluffy, not overly sweet. Almost more like a french cream-type frosting. I ordered some asst brownies and got a few flavored cupcakes as well. This is defintely my go-to spot for all cupcakes, cakes & desserts in the future!"

This is such a cute breakfast/ brunch spot. Great location on the corner and the vibe and atmosphere inside is so fun. You go up to the register to order your meal and then wait for it to be called out so you can go and grab it. They have lots of dining/ seating space. I got a club sandwich it was amazing I also tried the chicken tortilla soup which is also very great. For dessert I finished off one of the cinnamon rolls, they're to die for a must have. I would highly recommend this place! P.s. try the lavender lemonade you won't regret !

I'm going to try and keep this short and sweet. If thirsty whale isn't the best bakery in the twin cities then I don't know what is.I Read all the reviews and I was like "I've got to check this place out". It did not disappoint.First time checking out the bakery. Tiny spot, but don't let the size of this bakery fool you, it may be tiny but everything they sell pack quite a punch.I bought 2 dozen of an assorted mix of sweets for my coworkers one morning (see pictures).Let's just say, every single one of my coworkers wanted to know where the thirsty whale was so they could check it out for themselves.I cannot wait to be back!!!

They have made me 2 photo cakes in the past. They turned out beautiful. They were always kind and made sure I took care of my cake and gave me pointers on how to keep it fresh. The box kept in was sturdy. You can also walk in for ready made cakes.

Buttercream Cakes and Desserts makes some delicious treats. Everything we have ever ordered from them has been very tasty and well done.To start we had Buttercream do me and my wife's wedding cake. We first went to them for a tasting to see if we would want them to do the cake and they were very professional. The owner had samples for us to try and gave us enough time to enjoy them by ourselves. He explained what each one was and was happy throughout the experience. After that he went through the different styles of cakes and designs that they can have. We picked what we wanted and went on our way. Fast forward 10 months to our wedding and our cake was more beautiful than we could've wanted. They did exactly what we wanted and worked very professionally with our venue. For taste this is one of the best cakes we have had. The magic is in the buttercream frosting and we couldn't get enough. Our cake was strawberry shortcake in two of the tiers and a chocolate moose in one of them. The strawberry one was light and fluffy with a very creamy center. The chocolate was rich and delectable with a great fudge moose layer in the middle. Us and our guests all enjoyed the cake and everyone thought it was great. It was a big hit at our wedding!Overall we had a great experience with Buttercream. They are helpful, professional, and deliver some great cakes. They are there to give you the best cake they can and help make your wedding day as amazing as it can be. I would have given 5 stars but I did 4 because we ordered a birthday cake from them once and it had the paper lining still in the cake which we had to pick out. Other than that I would highly suggest this place for cakes and desserts for your next party or for your wedding.

We were able to stop by the bakery on our way to a band gig on a Thursday. Snagged some fabulous cinnamon bread, caramel rolls, and cherry pies. Had these special treats at the casino where the band was playing. All items were flavorful, fresh, and really made the weekend for us.

Finally decided to try this place. Initially we thought- meh cupcakes are cupcakes. Even Sprinkles in Chicago is not impressive. Magnolia's in the West Village is very good as there are only very few patisserie's who do this really well. We have a specialty chef who makes birthday cakes for us down in Dallas. It's been tough finding someone else unique with the flavor profile we like. I'm the type of person who refuses to waste calories on bad desserts. That would be a hard no thank you to store bought cakes and cupcakes. Sweet Treasures was a complete surprise! The owner was there- so we asked her recommendation. She explained their flavors change daily and she pointed out their food awards as well as her time on television competing in the Food Network competitions. Ok by now she must've realized she's upped the expectation on these cupcakes. We opted to take ours to go so we received this beautiful box that I'm sure costs $2 per package it reminded me of my days in product management and packaging. This little place is clean and welcoming. Not busy at all but hopefully word of gets around, this is a nice little gem in this neighborhood. We went with the hot fudge cupcake and raspberry almond wedding cake. Perfect pairing with the most delectable buttercream frosting we've ever tasted. They use either the Swiss or Italian merengue style buttercream which results in an ice cream like texture. Great desserts for me are about subtle flavors that ring thru like a fine wine. The cake was bouncy and moist, paired perfectly with the merengue style frosting. If you like overpowering sugar then this is not the place for you. Go to the grocery store instead.I was impressed. We will go back again, $6 per cupcake is worth it. Now it's time to try another flavor!

"Mixin' It Up is a gluten-free bakery located in Sauk Rapids. Their products are all locally made and are quite tasty. I am not on a gluten-free diet, but wanted to try some of their products. I'm glad I did. You can find cookies, cupcakes, and other sweet items here. If you or someone you love is gluten-free, this is a great place to find baked goods that they can consume."
"This is not your typical Mexican bakery. There are no pastries here. Pasteleria Gama makes cakes. And only cakes. "Pasteleria" means "cake shop" in Spanish.Entering the small shop one comes face-to-face with a huge display case filled with a variety of cakes in a rainbow of intense colors. A feast for the eyes (there is nothing subtle about the Mexican color palette). We pre-ordered a tres leches cake for a birthday celebration. The cake was ready when we arrived at the appointed time. While the counter person showed me the cake before packaging it, my eye kept wandering to the cake decorator in the rear of the shop. He was definately in his element, a "performance artist" carefully applying a layer of white frosting to a tall cake that slowly spun on a lazy susan. Had I not been in a hurry I would have stayed to watch him complete his work. Our 8" tres leches cake, which easily serves 12-15 people, was pricey at $30, but it was fabulous. Moist, but not soakingly wet. Flavorful frosting that was not too sweet. If you're in the mood for a very special cake for a special occassion, or just 'cause, give Paseleria Gama a try."
"This is by far my favorite bakery/coffee shop. I can't believe they now have soft serve ice cream! I tried the cookie blast one and it was delish! I love coming here for cupcakes and coffee! Caramel macchiato is the best!"
