"Updating a previous review, this is now our favorite Mexican place in Blaine. Food is great, service is good, the restaurant is roomy and nice. I especially love that it smells like Fabuloso, gives it that real authentic Mexican feel. (This is not a joke, legit brings me back to my travels in Mexico!)I love that they have a sope option in the build your own meal. So good!!"
"They did the food for my mother-in-law's birthday party - we had about 200 people at the party. The food was great, the servers were very personable, and they were on top of every situation! I can't recommend them enough! Many of our guests asked for their card to keep for future event planning. Their prices are reasonable for catered events, and they have lots of menu options. We really enjoyed the pecan salad!"
"Could not be happier, the staff was excellent the food was even better.Kudos!! thank you so much Chuckwagon. All I heard from my 160 guests at the wedding I just hosted was "who catered this"?" they're excellent" "so good" "I got their card" "the food was sooo good""I'm going to use them" "wow, where did you find these people" Seriously, they did an excellent job, the food was great, the staff was great, they did exactly what they said they would do when they said they would do it for a super reasonable price. I fully recommend them and will absolutely use them again when the opportunity arises"
"We used Chowgirls Catering for our agency holiday party this week and they were an absolute hit! From planning to execution, the staff was wonderful and helpful. They helped us plan the perfect menu of small bites, while taking in our feedback about our guests. Delivery, setup and takedown was perfectly on time and Nicole was a pleasure to talk with and work with! The food from Chowgirls is phenomenal! The whole agency was raving and asking where it was from - we even had a couple of people want to use them for their upcoming celebrations! Some highlights for me included:* The hot chocolate tarte was rich and delicious - and it truly was a hot chocolate flavor!* The apple manchego sandwiches were the perfect blend of fall flavors, and everyone was shocked it wasn't a dry sandwich with all the toppings! It was a crowd favorite. * the steak skewers were perfectly cooked and tender, even served cold!* The mezze platter was delicious and filling, with some unique flavorsOverall, I would recommend Chowgirls to anyone and would definitely use them again!"
"This smoked bbq is legit! The brisket and burnt ends are amazing, the rib tips are meaty and full of flavor, and the wings are some of the best I've had! Seriously don't miss out on this experience, it's really good food! If you want to top it off with a little desert the banana cream pudding in the mason jar is lit! That's if you have any room left for desert. Can't say enough good things about this place, all around great food. I'm from Chicago and go for the Bears games, the bbq is the highlight of the game! The owner is a great guy and knows his bbq, he's mastered the smoke!"
"This is attached to the Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids. I went to see "Don't Hug Me, We're Married" with my friend her parents. I liked that there was plenty of parking, and that the ticketpeople were visible. I could see why this troupe picked this venue, but I will say this if you plan on having an event here - the decorating could use a bit of an upgrade. We had okay service from the waitstaff - though they were plenty friendly, the two waitresses for our table must not have communicated with one another very well. One would tell the other to run back and grab us more coffee or water, disappeared, and forgot to bring the item back. When the time came to pay for the tab, it became a Laurel and Hardy routine of who was supposed to bring back my change and I ended up waiting around until everyone else in the audience had filed out."
"The build your own omelette was huge and it was only $6.99. The staff was very friendly and service was great. Getting some street tacos to go as well. They're in an office building, downstairs on level C. I'll definitely be back to try other menu items."
"I really enjoy their pulled pork, it tastes really good. Even though he has only done it for a few years, it seems that I really appreciate the fresh taste that this place has. Also I really enjoy the homemade potato salad and coleslaw. It seems everything is made fresh, which I really enjoy."
"Viv's, Thank you for coming to Balsam Lake! This place was fantastic! We had the special pizza less peppers and the chicken salad to share. While we had an early lunch you can tell this place rocks in the evenings or if it doesn't it certainly will in due time. If your a local or just visiting this is a must place to eat. We will be back."
"FYI: Same as Blue Note Supper Club. They made burgers and fries for 46 employees on short notice and the burgers were phenomenal!!"

Food: Salsa was good and had a bit of a kick to it, chips where stale, Carne Asada was average and the burrito tasted purely of overcooked steak and a liquidy cheese sauce that made my stomach do flips.Service: main guy was nice, other then that nothing of noteAmbiance: Nice looking place with good music

Food was actually pretty good but they F-ed up big time for our wedding. We did a buffet for 158 people and they ran out of our 2 vegetables after about 100 guests, so the rest received only chicken, pork, and a side of bacon mashed potatoes. In addition, we had a vegetarian (and pregnant) friend we ordered a vegetarian meal for and they didn't bring it for her. Good thing she had bacon mashed potatoes, pork, and chicken as her back up! And she couldn't drink! She rated our wedding 10/10. They also brought us the invoice on our wedding night (unadjusted) and expected to be paid in full! While we were going out on the dance floor for our first dance. We said, "WTF?" The owner called me on Monday and offered $150 off our bill. Are you kidding me?! We are paying thousands of dollars for catering and 1/3 guests didn't have a complete meal. We settled for $400 off, but weren't happy about it. If you want your wedding meal to embarrass you, then pick this place. Pros: The phyllo chicken was tasty.

We had them cater our wedding a few weeks back and I have nothing but nice things to say about everything they did! The food was delicious (many guests raves about it), along with the workers making it stress free for my husband and I. Very easy to work with and will for sure be hiring them again! Highly recommended!

We have held two events here and attended many others including their holiday dinner show. The scenery is stunning year-round - beautiful trees and greens from the golf course during the summer months and rolling hills (usually with snow!) during the winter. The inside is simply decorated with the ability to make it your own. For our daughter's wedding, we had gold draping added to the ceiling and the space was transformed. The event coordinators are amazing to work with and the food is also top notch. Our service was fantastic for the events we held although it was a little lackluster at the dinner show. I would highly recommend this location for a special event you are planning.

Nom nom nom. Wow. So be warned, it's a food truck, and they travel around only working Thursday's, Friday's, and Saturday's. So, check out their website and where they sre that day. All that nlah being said, I got the brisket meal and oh wow. What a meal that is. Three generous briskets served up on a great tortilla. Ensure you get the cheese, onion and most importantly, homemade bbq sauce l. You won't be disappointed!!

"Best old fashioned donuts in the city! Don't believe me? Try them for yourself! Some local Minneapolis coffeehouse sell these donuts, but they're best right from their downtown bakery. They have a basic lineup, but create a number of specialty donuts each week. This time I visited and there was death by chocolate, chai coffee cake and so many more! They also make delicious parfait bowls and gourmet coffee drinks. See pics if weren't already feeling hungry!Be sure to get their newsletter and sign up for the birthday club."
"In town for Hockey decided to swing by and grab a couple sandwiches late afternoon. The store was really well organized and clean. Deli counter attendant was quick and making our sandwiches and friendly. The sandwich was delicious, turkey with chipotle aïoli and jalapeños, can't remember the name, but a great value at $5.99. We'll definitely stop back the next time we're in the area. The spotlight of our trip today was my interaction with Faith at the cash register. You can tell when someone really enjoys their job, and she was just that. Super friendly, welcoming, even service with a smile (which is rare these days). We love supporting local businesses and it is because of people just like Faith who enjoy interacting with the public that makes these experiences so memorable."
"DELICIOUS treats & cakes!!! Taro cake rolls are SO good. they are weekend special, so make sure u go on weekend to get it. Love this place. SUPER nice owner too!! yummmy. I'm so in love with cake pops here too. And brownie bombs! Everything here rocks"
"I had a fantastic experience with Jessica at Pique Travel and Christie from D'Amico to plan my parents' 50th wedding anniversary party.Pique Travel Design is simply a beautiful space to hold an event. It is comfortable and gorgeous, and it was so easy to just tell Jessica what I was looking for and she helped to make sure the room would be set up with exactly what I needed.D'Amico... What can you say? The planning process could not have been better. Christie gave me an estimate, and we talked through it and came to an agreement on how much and what food was really needed, and the result was a perfect amount of food for the group in attendance. The set up of the food was amazing, and the staff on site was just AWESOME. They even helped us set up our decorations, they answered any questions I had, they were flexible with timing, and they even brought me a beverage as I was standing toward the back of the room chatting. All in all, the event was a huge success, and I am so impressed and happy with both Pique and D'Amico and the amazing service and care they put into this. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!"
""We have used Lisa's Catering for the past two years for our company picnic and each experience has been wonderful. Each year the location has been different but that hasn't impacted the quality or level of service provided Lisa and her team. The picnic menu is fantastic and we can always expect a line for seconds. Thank you Lisa's Catering for making our event a success!""
"I've had such great experiences with a forgetful baker. I ordered Mother's Day cookies and cupcakes for my mom and sister in law and the were beyond gorgeous! I ordered my daughters smash cake for her first birthday and besides being adorable it tasted sooo delicious! I usually don't like frosting but this mango butter cream I ate by it's self! Today I got some taro cup cakes and they were sooo delicious! I didn't know what to expect but this was better than I could have expected! All the other things were great too the strawberry cupcakes, the 4in cake for the mom to be, but these taro cup cakes!!!!!"
"I always knew I loved Kowalskis as a grocery shopping destination (my husband and I are big fans), but I didn't realize that their catering is also equally fantastic! They were able to help us develop a menu that fit the exact needs of our party, which was a graduation party with about 50-60 people mid-afternoon on a Sunday, so we wanted some heavy apps mixed with some stuff we were making ourselves. They were able to develop and submit an order less than a week from the party date, and were extremely professional and helpful throughout. They delivered the food promptly on a Sunday and the delivery person could not have been more friendly and helpful. They provided serving tongs and the food was presented absolutely beautifully. We also received rave reviews from all of our guests on the quality and taste of the food. We would highly recommend Kowalskis to anyone looking for some catering in the Twin Cities area!"
"I just moved to St. Paul a couple months ago and was looking for a good chicken place! The Coop is absolutely delicious. I ordered the chicken strip basket and it was really good. I wish they had a veggie burger! The staff was very pleasant and I got my food quickly. I will definitely be back."
"We used Tinucci's to cater our wedding at Dellwood Barns and we got so many rave reviews on it! Firstly, Mark Jr was awesome to work with. He's always just a text away and was so responsive. We came in there for the taste testing and various other times to pay and he always offered us a meal for the road. They even gave us a wedding gift of a gift certificate for the next time we visited. Seriously, such good customer service. The food was amazing. When we went with them to cater, they were just getting their foot in the door at our venue and I'm so glad they were suggested to us. I'm originally from out of state so I never heard of Tinucci's before, but was blown away by the tasting. We ended up going with their chicken sandwich (MY FAVORITE) and pulled pork, as well as their mac and cheese, baked beans, coleslaw, chilled veggies, corn bread and watermelon. Also for apps we had fresh pico and chips along with a meat and cheese platter. AND PEOPLE ARE SLEEPING ON THEIR DESSERTS, the turtle brownies are to die for. SO GOOD. I've eaten at least 2 a day since our reception and I'm not sure what kind of magic is in them but they are still moist!!!The pricing was very fair on the food and Mark Jr was very helpful in adjusting pricing/selection to our guest count. It's obvious they have a lot of experience in catering because when they showed up on the reception day, they moved like a well oiled machine. They had a tent to shield from weather, a table cloth to make it look nice, everything was well stocked the whole time and they were nice enough to take back our leftovers and package them and then store them until the next day when we came to collect them, vs leaving them for the venue to deal with or handing them off to us, who were definitely not in the mindset to look after food (but so grateful to have it the next day). They also brought plenty of backup food just incase we had extra guests or people wanted third or fourth servings (which happened with us, we had almost no leftovers the next day for us specifically even though we ordered about 25 extra servings, people loved the food) which would allow most people to lower their guest count to a more realistic number without worry of running out of food. We've been to Tinuccis on prime rib buffet day (also highly suggested) as well as various other times for just a casual pick up and we have never been disappointed. We'll definitely see what other larger events we can use them for, because it was such a great experience!"
"The staff here are fantastic at their jobs. Every single person involved in the catering of our wedding reception on our property was amazing.. We chose to have a pig roast for 104 guests. I should mention I'm very picky. I don't even like to eat out because I'm usually disappointed. Not the spread UD did. Everything was amazingly delicious!! The staff were attentive to everything during the entire length of the event. I can't give enough compliments to UD.Thank you so so much!!"
"Good service, great food. Love the chips and dip that come with the sandwiches. The mini slider burgers are awesome and the drinks are phenomenal. I beat the rest of my party there by about ten minutes and our server checked in on me twice during that timeand several times throughout our meal. I'll definitely be back, and bring my spouse next time since it's relatively close to home."
"Our office frequently orders boxed lunches from D'Amico. I like their strawberry salad which comes with the obvious greens and strawberries- in addition there is chicken, chèvre cheese, walnuts, and a lovely balsamic vinaigrette. All in all you cannot go wrong with this salad. Box lunches come with chips and a cookie or you can sub fruit. As I've stated before I am a lettuce snob so I find it really annoying when there is so much lettuce rib and not actual leaf. Not to mention when the lettuce itself has bad spoiled pieces. Therefore I always carefully pick through any salad I do not make myself. There was about a good cup and a half of bad lettuce in my salad."
"We forgot to call early to book Easter Brunch at the main restaurant but were told that they still had room at the Event Center where they served the same brunch so we decided to give it a try.First, the food is certainly very good and there is a lot of it. Hot caramel rolls at the table. made to order omelettes and a long buffet through the middle of the room. Started off with cheese and crackers, fresh fruit, salads, smoked salmon, cream cheese, and chilled shrimp. Hot stuff included incredibly tasty raspberry french toast, pretty good eggs benedict, bacon and sausage, chicken, pasta, potatoes and a carving station with ham, roast beef and lamb. And then if you have any room left over, two huge tables full of desserts. The food was great. My complaints....1) Some of the servers were very inexperienced. For example - we got conflicting answers regarding the availability of drinks from the bar. Our main waitress told us only champagne until 1:30 (what kind of rule is that?). We flagged down a waiter who was bringing out wine to a different table and he said that they did indeed have a full bar. 2) My wife ordered a mimosa and the waitress brought her a glass of champagne and a glass of orange juice and told her she would have to mix it herself. I asked for orange and cranberry juice and she brought me a glass of each. I turns out that champagne is free but you pay for all other drinks - so for my table of 10 I had to pay and extra $25.00 for a glass of juice for everyone. Actually, I had to pay for an extra juice since she charged me for both of mine. 3) I understand the need to add the tip directly to the bill for large groups but I'll have to admit that I was surprised to see an 18% gratuity added for a BUFFET meal. Further, if you are going to stick me for 18% you should at least make sure your entire staff is well trained.I love the food and service at the Inn but I'll have to say that I'm not too impressed by the Easter Brunch, at least at the Event Center. The food was great but for the cost I expected more and at least one of my guests mentioned that the overall experience we had at the White Bear Country Inn last year was better than this. And for less money."
"4.5 Stars My rock n roll friends had their wedding and reception at The Gale Mansion a couple years ago. Everything went very smoothly and this was largely due to the venue's setup. As I am usually a makeup artist and/or bridesmaid at friends' weddings, I am very fond of venues that are able to do it all. We got ready upstairs, pictures were taken on the very beautiful grounds, the wedding ceremony was outside, and the reception was inside. Couldn't be better or easier, IMO. The many halls, rooms, and alcoves provide a variety of options for letting people mill around. Or keeping people separate, which was nice since the bridal party and groom's party got ready in the same building without running into each other. The room we got dressed in was huge and had couches and chairs, at least one table, tons of windows, and a private bathroom. There were also enough outlets, even though it's a historic building. You do have to take the stairs to the upper level -- I don't think there's an elevator, but there are only two floors. The mansion, built in 1912, is a historic building and extremely well preserved. Some modern updates (such as air conditioning) have been made, but for the most part, wandering around the property is like being in a time machine or museum. Everything is very well maintained as well, including the lawn and grounds. It was a very cool and unique experience to spend the day here. It was easy to imagine the place once being filled with cooks, maids, and butlers! There is staff on-hand for events, but I don't know how many were present for this particular wedding. The website states that they provide (customized and locally sourced) catering, but my friends may have had their food done by a different caterer. I didn't really interact with any staff, but I spent my whole day with the wedding party so I'd remember if anything went amiss. It appeared to go perfectly and no one expressed any displeasure with The Gale Mansion or its staff members. The website states they can accommodate 200 - 240 guests, which is approximately how many people were at the reception. There was ample room for guests, small tables, and even a dance floor in the main reception area, plus the building was open for everyone to explore. My only complaint would be that there wasn't a ton of seating, but I think my friends chose this option, as pictures on the website shows a setup for a sit down dinner. Though the mansion seems to be mostly utilized for weddings, it would also be a great place for formal dinners, corporate events, reunions, and other private parties. Overall, I really enjoyed myself at this wedding, both because the venue made the preparations easy and convenient, and because I felt lucky to enjoy such an elegant and historic building. I highly recommend The Gale Mansion as an event space!"
