Skip the $ and hassle of going downtown and give this place a shot. We were very impressed with this Brazilian Steakhouse in a strip mall. Service was very friendly and attentive, cute atmosphere and plenty of parking. Just a heads up, the delicious, cute little shots they come around with were $10 when we were there.

The Twin Cities has gone from one of these types of restaurants, Fogo de Chao (in downtown Minneapolis), to Bullvino's (St. Paul and Bloomington), Grill Hall and Rodizio Maple Grove, and Fogão Gaúcho in Bloomington. How do you distinguish yourself when so many other restaurants have the same business proposition - all you can eat Brazilian-style steak restaurants?Last night was my first trip to the relatively new (1 year?) location of Bullvino's in Bloomington. Here is how you distinguish yourself.1. Quality of Food: Everything was served hot and was well seasoned. The meats were noticeably better seasoned than any of the other Brazilian Steak Houses. Also, it was easy to get my preferred rare to medium rare cuts.2. Service: the service at this Bloomington location FAR exceeded anything I've seen at ANY restaurant this year. Sides were offered continually, plates were replaced, drinks refilled constantly, and there was hardly any wait time between offers of meat. In addition, the main waiter continually asked if there were specific cuts of meat that we were looking for. I've never seen that at any of their competitors (including the St. Paul Bullvino's.3. Parking convenience: The Bloomington location has a large strip mall parking lot, so parking is plentiful and free. This is not the case at either the St. Paul Bullvino's or Fogo de Chau.4. Price: The Monday through Thursday price for all you can eat "salad bar" (more than just salad) plus unlimited cuts of beef, pork, chicken, and others is $35.99. This does exclude a few cuts of "top shelf" meat (Filet, Ribeye, Lamb Chops, Beef Rib) which can be added for another $7.00. This is a great value and even cheaper than it was five years ago (I think competition helps!). Please note that Friday through Sunday are more expensive, so I recommend a weekend night. Frankly, the variety and quality are such that I personally don't feel the "top shelf" additions are necessary or worth the additional money.Bonus 1: We were served skewers of garlic shrimp, which I didn't even know were on the menu.Bonus 2: We went during restaurant week, and the price was $35 (OK, only a dollar of the regular weekday price), but it included a free dessert too.Two minor dings: The charge an extra 3% for using a credit card and they offer drinks that seem like they would be complimentary, but they are not. OK, you have now been warned!

This location is really nice. The space is large enough that I don't feel shut in a corner. I usually have issues with sides and drinks being filled too slowly, especially with a popular place where the staff is so busy. Not here! They were so fast with everything and checked in on our table often, making sure that we had everything filled and whatever meats we wanted. I would also like to note, that we had a table of 12, which was no hassle with making a reservation. They even called day of to make sure we were still coming.

The food was mostly as expected, but I have to say it was lacking in seasonings. the worst thing that happened is that we were served super under cooked chicken. It wasn't just a little bit, it was mostly raw. Then they didn't really say or do anything to make ammends. The drinks were ok, but not worth 15 a drink. The service was ok. the ambiance was ok. I probably wouldn't go back. We were there for a birthday party. my bill for myself alone with a standard dinner was 100+ So I think I would much rather spend my money else where where it might go futher and the food might tasted bettwer.

Service was impeccable here! They knew we were serving my sister and Mom's birthday so they gave us a complimentary dessert and even sang to them, which was very sweet. I thought some of the pork and chicken meats were very dry, not to my liking but I liked the picana and my parents loved the beef rib. We're all so obsessed with the Brazilian cheesy bread that is complimentary and we probably had 8 refills, I'm not kidding! I would recommend this place for meat lovers and they have a salad bar that can help cut some of all the meat you're eating. The limeade is a must get! Sweet and a bit sour, so yummy. And to top it off they even gave us the sirloin on the salt block which I believe is typically an extra charge.

We made a reservation at Bullvino's for a friend's birthday during restaurant week - and we made sure to make it far in advance and on a Sunday to try and beat the business a bit. We definitely under-estimated how busy it would be here, and unfortunately I felt the staff didn't handle it great. We showed up for our reservation on time, however our table wasn't ready. We kept checking in, and I think the team kept forgetting about us. It took 20-30 minutes for our table to be ready, plus there wasn't really any waiting room so we sat on the floor in the strip mall outside.Once seated, they informed us that the only available things to order were restaurant week or just the salad bar - luckily this was fine since we were planning on it, but kind of odd we couldn't order any normal food. Our server/manager was really wonderful. He was fun and playful, and consistently checking up on us. However, we were a little disappointed when he offered us all birthday shots and then charged us (made it seem like they were on the house) and would ask us what meat we'd want to come over, and then he'd never make sure it did. At the end of the night, it took about an hour to get the check, run our card, and get out. We were very antsy and frustrated. The good news is the food here is really wonderful. The salad bar is plentiful and full of delicious options, which satisfied our vegetarian friend. All the meat that came over was juicy and delicious! Highly recommend the cinnamon pineapple, we kept wanting more! The desserts were ok - plus we ended up taking most of it home since we just wanted to leave after being there for 3 hours.

Came to this location for valentines dinner, as other reviewers have mentioned, the service is quite a bit slower at this location in comparison to Saint Paul. We waited about an hour for cheese with honey, we even asked like 6+ people for them to bring it by. We had about 4 people tell us they'd put in a 'special request' which resulted in absolutely nothing. Eventually the 6th person was able to do what they said they'd do, which was appreciated. Again though, this was about an hour later after arriving when we were ready to end our meal and have some dessert. Granted it was quite busy that night, it was off putting to speak to so many different people that worked there and still not get what was asked for. Meats were inconsistent, some extremely dry/overcooked or completely undercooked in some cases and inedible (lamb was raw in the middle). Thankfully you get so many different types of meat to try so you'll usually end up with something you like. When we arrived, our table didn't have any silverware so we waited the first ten minutes after getting food for someone to bring us some. I'm sure this was just a very busy time for them with the occasion, but it was a bit of a lackluster experience in comparison to the Saint Paul location. I appreciate that there is another location in Bloomington when the Saint Paul location is completely booked, but I wasn't wowed with this dining experience and for the price of the meal, should have been.

My friend and I had a really fun time at Bullvino's tonight. They had a good special going on so we treated ourselves to a big dinner. We were sat at the first table outside of the kitchen, close to the salad bar. Best seat in the house imo. We laughed and laughed because the food would just not stop coming. Server after server stopped by with beef, pork, sausage, lamb, chicken, pork belly, shrimp, cheese, and pineapple. The wait staff was so friendly and did an EXCELLENT job. We never went without water, fresh plates, or any of the meats. My friend wanted her steak a little more well done and before we knew it, 3 servers were at the table with various well done meats. We felt like royalty. Cannot wait to go back.
