Very fun place to get some exercise during the chilly winter season! Whether you enjoy slicing down the hills on skis or snowboard, or prefer some exhilarating seated snow tubing, Buck Hill has something for everyone. Their snowtubing hills are a great family friendly activity for most ages. With about 8 individual hills to go down, you can have fun races to the bottom to become the ultimate tuber!A convenient automatic conveyor belt escalator provides a quick and seamless transition from the bottom of the hill to the top.Usage of the tubes are included with admission and are fairly comfortable! An outdoor fire pit with seating sits adjacent to the hills, a nice way to warm up quick in between runs down the hill! There is a restaurant and warming house a short walk away, excellent for when you get hungry or want to grab an adult beverage.

Review for snow tubing- This is a fun family activity, good to spend 2 hours or so. Probably not much longer than that, as kids can wax and wane some with their desire to go after awhile. Snow tubing was sold out the night we went & there was some variation with wait times. Sometimes the line to ride the conveyer was long, sometimes there was no line. There was always quite a line at the top. There were something like 6-7 lanes, I can't quite recall and didn't count them, but they were decent waits each time. As the night went on (we went 5-7pm) the lines were short closer to 700 at the end. Not sure what is typical, as there might sometimes be a late night rush as admission prices go down. Each lane is the same slope, speed, and that kind of thing, so once you have done one, the others are just like it. Linking tubes and making groups or going down headfirst or backward can provide enough variety to keep kids or adults engaged. It was quite fun, but can get expensive quickly with a family. Wild Mountain Snow tubing is more thrilling, but this is a good option in the metro area.

Love Buck hill for the proximity and reasonable pricing. We went here once last year, and this year it's been a bit of a weird snow year, but they continued to deliver despite the unseasonably warm temps! We also love the kitchen and bar area in the ski lodge, the food is delicious and thoughtfully planned, and the beer selection is great! We found the snow during our unseasonably warm trip to still be soft despite the above freezing conditions, and going on a weekday is always preferable, we love the pricing and affordability for a 2 hour night ski, and the mountains felt like they were all ours. One highlight we really appreciate is the care and attention to the ski lift, they are very diligent in ensuring a positive experience, so if you happen to fall coming off the lift, they are quick to slow the lift down to ensure you're able to get up and keep moving without rush or fear of collision. We love Buck Hill, and will be happily returning again and again!

COVID TUBING!My first time to Buck Hill...and it was fine. I'm glad I went. I thought it would be super fun and I'd want to go back. I do not. I mean, I would, but probably not.You can see exactly how many tickets have been sold online. I went on a weekday with two 3rd graders and I believe our session was about half sold. It did not feel crowded. It's nice that they are requiring masks. I like that. Buying online was easy. Arriving a half hour after opening was easy. When we left the parking lot was crazy. We walked up to the little booth near the tubes. Everything was well marked. I thought the young-ish employees were nice. It's wonderful to use the magic carpet and not walk up the hill. $20 for two hours feels reasonable. We got bored. Since all the lanes are the same, this gets a little boring after a few runs. I'm still glad we went! BC we were one of the early time slots, not all lanes were open and they kept changing the rules at the top of the hill for things like which lanes could be chains and if we needed to get a "GO" for each run. It was fine, the employees were still cool.At the bottom of the hill is a fire pit. Several other adults were hanging out and talking about how the capacity our day felt nice, but it had been crazy on a previous weekend, which I noted sold out online. We thought about ordering lunch there, but the online system said 30-45 minutes for food and none of the outdoor tables had been cleared of snow. So we skipped that.

Even though I've grown up in Minnesota I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I've never been tubing. I haven't compared to other places but $18 for 2 hours seemed reasonable especially since there was a conveyor belt to pull us up to the top of the hill. I've heard you have to walk up to the top at other places. I mostly saw single tubes. There were a few double ones but I never saw one in action. Sitting is definitely less scary than going down face first but it was good to try both ways. The attendants seem to do a good job of making sure all the people from the previous run were able to clear the area before letting the next group go. There's some nice, well lit indoor spaces too if you want to warm up.

I just left Buck hill after attending for the first time and I will not be back. Every year my family goes tubing at Elm Creek but we wanted to try your business despite it costing more than other places. It was a big disappointment and extremely unsafe. We had a time slot from 2-4. We arrived at 2:05. The process of checking in, getting a tube, and waiting to go down the first time took 40 minutes. I'm not sure if too many tickets are sold at a time, but the check-in process was extremely slow for having already bought tickets and the lines to go down the hill are ridiculous. The ending needs to be completely reconstructed due to the numerous collisions. My first time down I hit a kid and made him fly off his tube. The second time down someone else and I collided and hit heads. Despite being ready to go my daughter wanted to go one more time. Since we had paid $75 for my family of 3 we decided to go again. By 330 we had managed to go down twice and were waiting in line for our final ride. While waiting someone else collided and ended up having to have medics called. We waited about 5-10 minutes before the person could even get up and then decided to take it as a sign that it was time to go. 2 trips down, and 2 collisions for $25/ each were hardly worth the cost.

We did daytime tubing. Very slow going, long lines and not a lot of direction for people to know when they're allowed to go.

Kept snowmaking machines going all day in order to be able to stay open longer and make more money. Paid to ski all day, just to have snow blowing in our faces all day long. Inappropriate and unfair to those of us who paid to ski that day...

For tubing; be prepared to only go 2-5 rounds within 2 hours they give you. Terrible management at the tubing area. Staff let people budge other people and no help with lines at all! Poor management for lining up. Workers were all over the place and didn't even help.
