Brunson's Pub

I thought I had reviewed this place but I can't seem to find it. Brunsons is one of the best pubs in the Twin Cities. I've been here many times and will be there many times in the future! Their food is top notch, they have an outstanding happy hour, but their customer service is out of this world best I've ever experienced in the state.I highly recommend this place for anyone!

I love Brunson's; it's the quintessential dive bar with great food & a really nice patio. We met a group for drinks & lunch after hitting at the batting cages & sat on the patio. I got a bloody mary, which was delicious (I'm hit or miss on them as a whole). There were plenty of toppings without the drink being an entire meal. I also got the mixed bean burger, which came with their delicious house-made chips, & added a side of chip dip. I have to say, whenever I get the chips as a side, I should honestly just get those as my meal. I don't know what's in the chip dip but it's SO. GOOD. The burger itself was fine I'd say; it was a little dry/gummy in my mouth with the goat cheese, but the flavors were there. All in all, Brunson's is a St. Paul staple & is fantastic for their food, watching The Game, etc.!

Thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Brunson Pub! Went for a work dinner and loved how relaxed the environment is. Our service was super prompt and friendly. We started with cheese curds and loaded fries from their happy hour menu. Cheese curds are definitely 10/10! They were crisp, moist on the inside, and not greasy. The sauces are the real gems here and made for a tasty appetizers! The loaded fries were okay. Would've liked for the cheese sauce to be on the side to avoid the fries getting soggy. For an entree I ordered the Hoppin John Salad which is warm with collard greens, black eyed peas, rice, roasted corn and lots of other deliciousness. Hands down, one of the tastiest warm salads! If you're looking for a place to cozy up and hang with friends or grab a quick bite, this is a good place. I would definitely return!

Expected more. Afternoon stop in for a meal and was inspired after all the reviews. Nothing special about the pub or service. Long wait for food - the server blamed a large take out order and did apologize. Cheese curds came out as a cold, greasy lump. All of them clumped together and not even hot. Entrees were unforgettable. We left disappointed. $$

Great food and friendly staff! Plenty of seating with 2 floors and a long bar spanning the first floor. The menu offers a good selection. Everyone in my group loved our meals! We started with chips and dip for an appetizer. For entrees we ordered the ham & cheese, banh mi, and Italian sandwiches with fries. The ham & cheese has Brie on it which I love! The fries were perfectly crispy, although could have used a little salt or seasoning. We were sat right next to the kitchen so it was quite noisy at times. Overall good experience and would come back!!!

It's exciting to see what has happened with this location. It previously was a typical hometown dive bar / pool hall converted into a bar and grill / restaurant. For those that remember the original location it's really nice and the new owners have put a great twist on it. The atmosphere is very inviting and the staff and the owners are always pleasant and accommodating. The menu is full of great items that suit all tastes their salads are amazing and their burgers will leave you speechless. My favorites are the "No Payne no Gain" the "classic double" and the "Schweitz burger"(and homage to the previous namesake Schweitz's bar also the wedge salad is beyond amazing. The prices are pretty standard, and their drink/liquor menu is pretty extensive for a hometown bar. I honestly don't have anything bad to say with the exception that if you're looking for a decent glass of wine this is probably not the place for you I had two glasses of different red wines each and it wasn't what I'm accustomed to but again this isn't a wine bar but I do love my whiskey and they definitely know how to make a classic and "mean" Manhattan or old fashioned. As far as the space / ambience the main floor you have your choice of sitting at the bar sitting in the bar at a high top or in the tucked away dining area, you also have the majority of the top floor if you don't mind taking stairs and there's plenty of cozy seating for date night or if you wanted a little bit quieter place for a small group. They also have an amazing patio for those summer months. If you haven't been this needs to be one of your"need to try"locations It is definitely on my list of go to's!!

Food and service were good. Patio dining on a balmy night was perfect! Parking in the back, but watch out for the stairs. Really liked the chips and the Cole slaw.

The food is one thing to talk good about it, but the service is even better!!! The vibe also just makes it so great!

Getting my fish and chips craving satisfied. The fish pieces were so big, I couldn't even finish 1 of them and they give you 2! You could definitely share this meal. The burger was great! The house popcorn is spicy! So beware if you don't tolerate spicy flavors. We enjoyed it but the first piece was unexpected. Great fish n chips and burger place!

Bandito burger is TDF. Loved the cumin lime aioli. Aside from a soggy bottom bun, this was intensely flavorful and I would definitely order it again.
