Attended a family wedding. Was charming and perfect for a small wedding. Loved the old farm house for photos. Facilities were clean and we had a blast with dinner and dancing in the barn.

A true hidden gem - I have lived 5 miles away for over three decades and only learned of it today by chance. Interesting looking restored farm buildings (of course not open due to pandemic restrictions). Pleasant half mile paved path winding through rolling fields. In paved path through prairie restoration. A lovely spot tucked away in a typical suburban area.

Two of my best pals got married here and it's a really beautiful place for a wedding. It's close to the city, but feels like you're a million miles away. It's part of the historical society and I don't think they provide too much aside from the use of the space (my friends were able to come a day early and decorate). The grounds are very well-kept and perfect for a wedding the DIY wedding of the century (seriously, I have talented friends). The ceremony was outside under the trees, and the lawn is plenty big enough for games, a few tables, outdoor bars, etc. The barn itself is also great. And thanks to my friends' hard work decorating it up like crazy, it was SO GORGEOUS. There was a long head table down the middle and then rectangular tables around both sides so they just got rid of the head table to open up the dance floor. Not sure who was in charge of that, but the transition was seamless. As a bride-to-be myself, I'm going to try to mention all the important things in terms of wedding (or event) wish lists... so forgive the strange (and not cohesive) details, but here goes!-The house on the property can be used by the bridal party to get ready.-The place was flexible with food and drink vendors as long as they were licensed, so my pals had an Indian buffet from India Palace in Woodbury. Green Mill did their bar. -A lot of barn weddings you have to rent port-o-johns, but they had multiple normal restrooms even in the barn itself. -They do hayrides-They rent chairs, tents and tables-I get the impression that their rates are fairly reasonable.-I also get the impression that the volunteer working with the group on the weekend of wasn't the easiest to deal with, but it's not necessarily going to be the same person every time.-No ATM-Due to the venue's restrictions, the wedding had to end at 10 p.m. Sad face.

Today's Easter breakfast was a total joke. You spend 8$ a person and get a small pancake, a sausage link and a cup of juice or coffee. Which isn't bad enough but you better get there early or you'll be waiting outside in line for probably 30 minutes to waste your money. Then you have to go to another barn where the kids color on bags and print-outs. and they make you stand around in anticipation for an egg hunt. My Son is in the 2 or under group, which was the first group to go. This was the absolute worst part. They said they would give each group 3 minutes, which was the fastest 3 minutes in history (about 45 seconds by my watch). Well there was no organization. The people running the egg hunt where not making sure all the kids got in and got a turn. And when the kids found eggs, 90% of them were empty. What a joke! I understand this is a fundraiser, but this is an absolute joke. I will never be back, and I will make sure my friends and family NEVER waste their money on this place. As far as I'm concerned it wouldn't be a shame if this place shut down anyways. I was clearly not the only person leaving upset which isn't surprising.
