Blue Plate Diner

Awesome coffee roasters and a fantastic breakfast spot. I wish I were staying longer than four days--this would definitely be my regular go-to!Recommendation: The Tanzania coffee was a delightful touch--highly recommend it to any coffee lovers looking for a special treat!

Went to Blue Plate diner for brunch. You order at the register then seat yourself (they will bring the food to you). After that it's self-service. Their breakfast items are quality, while their lunch isn't as good.

Every time I visit Rochester, I find a new hidden gem (to me). I will admit, I never have high expectations for the food here but every time, I am pleasantly surprised! There was quite a lot to choose from, and it all sounded so good! We finally settled on the Cajun hash for savory; you need a sweet chaser - the caramel pecan French toast was going to do that job.It was a big effort getting pictures because they first thing I wanted to do when seeing these was to dig right in. The Cajun hash was PACKED with flavor. Each bite just as good as the last till it was all gone . Following up with the French toast was just so good. I'm typically conflicted when pecans are involved but there was no grey area here. I loved every bite! This has been added to my "definitely eat here again" list!

Blue Plate Diner is your local neighborhood breakfast and bakery for standard American cuisine. Not a typical restaurant though - you would order and get your number to place at your table so pretty self-sufficient there. Friendly staff and spacious. Only feedback was wait times for food (20 mins or so) was a bit odd given we came during non-peak time. Our hungry toddler ended eating all his snacks and was ready to leave when the food came Ordered- Beef Brisket Sandwich (2/5). Meat was dry and bun also was soggy. Prices a bit steep ($17?) Not a bad place, and would come back to try breakfast items next time.

What gem! Our first visit and we were very pleased. Omelette was well cooked and not greasy. My friend enjoyed the farm breakfast. Coffee roasted on site and my dark Brazilian was good. Give it a try.

I ordered Blue Plate breakfast carry out but service was great. All the things I have tried are perfect diner food. I love the pancakes, omelets, sausage gravy and buscuits. Eating in looks very convenient, cute and friendly as it is connected to a coffee shop.

Tonight, after a day of sightseeing in SE Minnesota, we stopped at the Blue Plate Diner in Rochester, now Novios Cafe for dinner. There were four of us. Two had the Ham and Cheese Quiche, one of us had the spinach and cheese empanadas with a small salad and I had the pretzel bites with cheese and a bowl of split pea and ham soup. Nice location with live music entertaining us while we dined on delicious food. Service was excellent.

Great place ... great food ... nice people... huge sweet rolls ... great bakery.... Wonderful breakfast!

By far the best coffee shop and bakery in Rochester! The maple donuts are yummy and the cinnamon and caramel rolls are outstanding! The breakfast sandwich on a biscuit is really good too! Their coffee is great as well! They make a really good Cortado and a good caramel macchiato! This is my "Go To" spot every weekend! Make sure to come early as they get really busy on the weekends. We are lucky to have this in Rochester!

We ordered a Senior breakfast which was so good. I had the Pancake and it was delicious. The coffee was great, the server too who made sure the cup stayed filled. Blue Plate Diner reminds me of the cafe's I grew up going to in the seventies. I enjoyed the tributes to the soldiers of Korea, well done!
