Benton Station Bar

This place is the coolest dive bar in central MN. Cheap drinks, great food, often a good comedy show, bingo and live music!!Must go if you have an appreciation of locals, divey dives and a quality central MN charm.ps it opens at 8am, and it might be crowded at that hour..

The vibe is friendly, and the drinks are cheap, as can be expected from how weak they are.They overcharge for the food, and when you ask the server about it and just shrugs and says, "some of them have the right price". So why did I even get an old menu with the wrong prices?I asked for boneless chicken, she says the only one is spicy. I like spicy, but then order comes up bone in, and no heat to it at all.It's just a $4-$5 upcharge which isn't much, but literally nothing on the menu is listed at those prices. I am fully expecting the bartender to write in a tip that we didn't give, as well.

Not sure why the reviews are so bad- I performed here Friday night and the service, food and drinks were excellent- not to mention CHEAP! I have never been handed a large drink with top shelf vodka and paid so little as I did here, I do understand it's kind of out of the way but there was an event. I also ordered a large pizza to go and it was so fresh and had quality toppings-I would for sure come back here to eat/drink!

If you enjoy the television program "Bar Rescue" this is the perfect place for you, because Benton Station allows you the opportunity experience a bar BEFORE that loud man comes in and tries to fix it.Many people refer to this place as a "dive bar" that is false and insulting. I love dive bars and this is certainly not one of them. The food is once again, yet another bar that simply removes frozen food from a package and dunks it into weeks old fry oil, and the bartenders couldn't make a drink if there parents were tied to train tracks and the only way to rescue them was to make a daiquiri. The staff is about as pleasant as a visible herpes sore. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because they're great for weekly entertainment, lots of great bands, comedians, DJs, etc. So come enjoy the shows and dream of nicer places.

Sat for 15min moved tables, still wasn't noticed staff said be right with you waited for her to come back then she said I have drinks I have to run is that okay? And still didn't bring us a menu. We left and will never be back.

Amazing food with really great service. Prices are insane for the portions you get! 10/10 highly recommend, huge list of appetizers each as good as the rest. Wouldn't recommend the wings but everything else is top notch and exceeded my expectations for it being so inexpensive!! My favorite waitress is Vicky and she's worked there for 30 years, which is close to how long the place has been open. She makes the atmosphere beautiful and has always been a friendly face, and she's definitely the reason I'm currently a regular!!

We went there on a Friday night because it was the only place that did karaoke that we could find. The bartender struggled with knowing what whiskey they had on hand. When we walked in I felt a thousand eyes on me and my boyfriend (mixed couple) but I've gotten used to that living out here. The pool and darts was fine. The bartender kinda seemed put out whenever I ordered. However I've got to give a 1 star because the karaoke was atrocious. The KJ did not know how to properly mix vocals and you could barely hear singers over the backing track. Not to mention there was a live band in the other room. The KJ took about 10 minutes between each singer and played music videos while folks waited. He must be a novice or just doesn't give a shit about his job.

I am so disturbed by some of the things I'm reading in these reviews. Granted, I'm a home town girl but as such I have been here probably a little more than I should so can honestly report versus some of the things I've just read. I just got done spending an evening with a very full bar of diversity, visiting and being waited on equally. Watched a TON of food go out in a timely manner including the delicious sandwich I had. My bartenders and BINGO workers were AMAZING! Including Josh always going above and beyond. He is not the only one here who does that. Dive bar? Maybe, but couldn't ask for a better one. Snob bars? Too many to count which is why you'll always find me at Benton Station!

I have never been inside this place, but today I made an order for delivery. It was my 3rd or 4th time ordering in, and will be my last! We ordered a pasta meal which was fabulous & some mini tacos that were fine, but we also ordered two burgers & fries which were completely inedible... We are by no means picky eaters but the fries were soggy in the middle & over hardened on the ends like when you microwave fries to reheat them or they sit under a heat lamp way too long, and the burgers were rubbery and rock hard around the edges that were sticking out of the bun, like they had been stuck under a heat lamp for at least 20 minutes after cooking. I called Benton Station to remedy the situation, and the cook tells me "well I did re-use one of the burgers from a previous order, but the other one should be fine, it's really not a big deal"!!! Yes, he ACTUALLY said that! When I explained further that both burgers were this way (although one WAS worse) and the fries (which btw cost $1.95 extra per order, burgers here come with chips unless you upgrade) he told me the fries must be that way because the driver couldn't find my place and the styrofoam containers must have sweated moisture on them. How is this my problem?!?! I am a paying customer who got crappy product, I don't really need to hear excuses as to why my food sucks! Just fix it! Only after repeating at least 6 times that our burgers and fries were not edible he said in an obviously annoyed tone, "we'll, i can remake the burgers for you but I made those fries fresh so..." I was kind of dumbfounded so I just said fine, remake the burgers... But after I hung up my boyfriend & I agreed we were not going to eat them since this guy was annoyed & not really willing to fix our problem, we don't want to eat saliva burgers or worse! So my bf immediately called and demanded our money back instead of remaking them. The cook actually initially told him that they would need our uneaten burgers back to "prove" they were not edible but we were not trying to get out of paying for our other items that were fresh so wth?! We did end up getting refunded for the burgers & fries but only after my bf argued for ten minutes with him, then asked for a manager but instead got a waitress who then got a manager. I am disgusted that we had to argue for our money back & then all the manager did was refund the burgers & fries without even apologizing or anything, like we were putting them out by expecting edible food! Update: The last time I talked to a person here I was told my bill would be adjusted but I would see a double charge on my bank account and then one would disappear & my total would be $17 & some change, but my account was charged $22 something.... And the edible food we got only totals $14. I feel robbed. 50% of the food we ordered & 100% of the customer service we received was absolutely horrendous.
