Although the facility lacked in many ways, there are 2 AMAZING individuals. Mary (Chaplain) and Michelle (PT Director)!! These 2 made a difference to our family in a time of crisis, where others fell short. Some nurses/staff, extremely short. Another shout out to Kristin!!The Celest Smith Family(Scott & Sherry Klempke, Las Vegas, NV)03-05-23

I was supremely impressed with the extent of cares and services that are available, the knowledge of the staff (especially the specialists), as well as the compassionate nature of the care that the staff provided to my Grandma who was admitted to Benedictine on two separate occasions. I am a Registered Nurse, so I am better than the average Joe at evaluating healthcare facilities ;)

This facility and staff are absolutely appalling! Filthy doesn't even describe it. The staff is uncaring and lazy! They did not follow Doctor's orders, they did not do anything they were supposed to do for my loved one. The facility certainly wanted to try and keep her for as long as they could be guaranteed of the insurance money. The food was unbelievable as well, I would guess that there was no licensed dietician on staff. I could go on and on about the horrors, just take my word for it and don't expose your loved one to this torture!

This place lacks empathy, lacks attention to detail and overall our loved one suffered more than he had to during his stay here. If you have a loved one seeking transitional care, do your loved one the favor of locating a facility with a higher standard of care. Our loved one, who passed in 2019, stayed here just prior to his parting. This facility and their staff completely missed a bed sore and their "once weekly" shower policy seems ridiculous without some kind of sponge bath or other measures to ensure cleanliness. They did not administer pain meds as prescribed by the Doctor (unless the patient specifically requested them) and they also overdosed his pain meds due to mis-reading his Doctors orders. They lacked advocating for our loved one and were clearly too busy to provide adequate care, support, and giving him the type of care anyone would want their loved ones to be given.

Back in the 90's our mom rehabbed here and all seemed to go well. In late 2017 she was checked in here after a lengthy hospital stay. She was very weak, and was not enthusiastic about completing therapy. We weren't aware of the rules surrounding therapy eg: if you decline it 3 subsequent times, it will be stopped. Our mom did decline therapy 3 times, but instead of alerting us to the fact this was happening, and giving us a chance to confer with our mom, they just called and announced she would be leaving her rehab room and we needed to find alternate care for her. That kicked off a stressful chain of events that luckily ended happily for her in another facility in Roseville. My root cause analysis of Innsbruck is simply lack of staffing coupled with overload of residents. o-The social workers there are too overworked to properly do their job (like simply telling us our mom wouldn't participate), and that is because of the population. They didn't have time to help us locate an available room in another facility.o-When our mom lost her rehab room, she temporarily transferred into a different wing where her roommate kept the unscreened 2nd floor window wide open in October (suicide, bats=rabies, temps in the 50's, anyone?) which I believe is a housing code violation.o-A long time Innsbruck employee that knew our mom told us she was relieved to see she was transferring out. o-Long call wait times for attendants.o-Transferring into the new facility was a 5 hour ordeal due to the only available nurse at Innsbruck not trained for transfers (her own words). o-The sloppy transfer resulted in incorrect medical orders being sent to her new location and her not being administered a critical drug because the orders stated the drug was to be stopped. Innsbruck may have fixed some of these problems - and I truly hope they have - but I would encourage anyone going into long term or rehab here to carefully assess it. Visit during off hours, ask about staff turnover, staffing ratios, etc. There are many medicaid patients here and they seem to have little voice with the facility conditions.
