We just had my favorite pastry from here. The "queen" of all pastries, in my opinion, a kouign-amann. See what I did there? No?... I'll be here all night. In any case, it was pretty tasty. Check them out.

I visited Bellecour for their Oktoberfest cooking class and WOW it was so much fun!First, I think our chef (Chef Nomi) really made the experience a positive one. She was entertaining, knowledgeable, helpful, and very attentive to our entire group.Second, the other people in our mini group (size of 6) were so much fun! We had a great time chatting, cooking together, and enjoying our meal.Overall, my husband and I had a great experience at the cooking class. We were able to cook, taste, and not do any dishes --- how awesome! It was great that Bellecour printed the recipes so we could take them home. I can't wait to sign up for another class!

So many bakeries in Saint Paul are closed on Sundays - but luckily Bellecour is open so we can have pastries on Sunday mornings! We love picking up baked goods from Bellecour, our little family of three especially all LOVE their ham and cheese croissants! Their danishes, kouign amann and chocolate croissants are also delicious treats too! Service is always quick and easy for picking up. Highly recommend their ham and cheese croissants - it's one of my favorite pastries in town.

I have been meaning to check out Bellecour for a while now that they expanded to St. Paul and the new muffaletta sandwiches are what finally brought me in! It was actually very easy to park (lots of street parking nearby) and grab some pastries/sandwiches to go in less than 5 minutes, so I'll definitely be back! For the pastries, I tried the kouign amann, monkey bread, and strawberry-lemon crepe cake. These were all fantastic. The kouign amann was light with beautiful layers and nice even sugar dusting. The monkey bread was a bit denser and sweeter (to be expected), with great flavors and textures added by the pecans and raisins. The strawberry-lemon crepe cake was a special this week for Easter and was decadent, creamy, and had just the right amount of tartness. The muffaletta that I came for was good but not mind-blowing. I was excited as I haven't found many places that carry these in the Twin Cities. The focaccia was a bit dense, probably because these are premade and sitting out in the refrigerated section. It had all the right elements however, including salami, ham, mortadella, provolone, fresh mozzarella, and olive salad. Although it looks small, it was actually very filling and you could probably split one with someone else if you are getting pastries also. Prices are on par with other bakeries (~$4 for pastries and $9 for the crepe cake). Service was great - the person who checked me out was very knowledgeable and friendly!

Decent! Certainly lots of pastries and cafe drinks to select from and for the most part, overly friendly staff. Everything is baked to a perfection and they even have quiche, salads, la croixs, etc. to select from. Any of the hot drinks can be served iced. I enjoyed my iced macchiato and asparagus / goat cheese danish. In the warmer months, there are 5 outdoor tables and chairs to sit on in the front of the store. There is a big parking lot in the back of the building. Giving it 4 stars because both times I have been here, I felt rushed to decide on my order vs. being given space to be independent and free.

Stopped to try their cardamom buns. They were not good, had mostly cinnamon and no flavor of cardamom. I bought four, got charged for five and they added a hospitality charge I did not expect as there was no posted sign about it. Do NOT recommend this bakery.

I'm not seeing what the fuss is all about. First of all, the staff are not very helpful - and they seem to really want you to hurry up and pick out something and leave immediately. The lunch options are minimal. I took a slice of quiche. I asked the person at the counter for suggestions as to how to heat up (micro/oven/time/temp). She was clueless. I've read good things about their pastries. The same person at the counter just pointed me to a table and told me to read what each pastry was and only ask questions if I could not read what the pastry item was. How rude. So, again, I've heard good things about the Kouign Amann. I bought it. I'm not impressed. A Kouign Amann should be flakey not doughy. It is not worth it at all. If you want a really good Kouign Amann, try Marc Heu Patisserie. That is 100 times better. Not worth any of the hype. And their staff should try being friendly to paying customers!
