Been there a couple times and really like this place. Food are all very good. Since it's tapas style we ordered and tried many different ones. Potato and the prawns are our favorites

Parking: difficult in the evenings, but you can find street parking on the streets intersecting Washington.Food: amazing tapas! Aperitivo board: a generous charcuterie board served with lavash and patatas bravas. A great selection of cheeses, cured meats, briny olives, and aged manchegoAlbondigas: tender meat with a sweet tomato sauceBrussels sprouts: one of the best things we had. It was caramelized and sweet and served with cubes of salty cheese mixed in, which threw me off Paella Mariscos: the calamari was perfection, the spiced rice scraped off the bottom of the pan was a crunchy delightAmbiance: we joked that we are getting old and that the individual candles aren't for the ambiance, but to read the menu because it was so dark, hahaha. It was pretty loud and overcrowded even on a weeknight which made it hard to hear and catch up. So while the food was delicious, I actually don't recommend the space for a chill night for catching up. I would actually say that the restaurant was overcrowded and there were tables crammed into the middle so everyone was in everyone else's business.

Fun and delicious. This place is just fun. I was hesitant to book seeing it was a small chain, but figured tapas were worth a gamble. The gamble paid off.Booking Saturday night meant a loud and celebration filled dining room. So if you're looking for romance, I would choose another night or place to avoid some of the revelry and early 30 somethings fueling up for a night on the town.Otherwise, our table wasn't ready at our reservation time. We spent an enjoyable 15 minutes at the bar with some of the nicest bar staff. They even pour a white sangria mix into your mouth, if you wish. Entertaining, and the wait flew by.Eating was a lovely, 2-hour adventure of trying to figure out what to eat. Honestly, the whole menu was tempting. The croquets, potatoes bravas, and prawns were favs. Still, seasoning quality was varied. The prawns tasted overly salted while the beef empanadas were bland. Honestly, my mom makes a more flavorful sloppy Joe. Stick with Boludo for empanadas and Barcelona for crispy croquettes. The iberico, goat cheese, and Manchengo cheese boards were generous. (You can choose your own fancy lunchable.) So don't overlook this deliciousness. Plus, they say it all comes out quickly, and it really does does. Prepare to enjoy a fun night trying yummy little bites with great cocktails or mocktails. Next time, we will try more veggies and the tuna. The only disappointing part of the night was the basque cheesecake. It's texture was dry and mealy compared to others I've had in basque restaurants. So skip it, and go for the olive oil cake? That is also on my list for the next visit.Long story, short, Barcelona brings energy not found in many other Minneapolis restaurants. Bring friends, and make a reservation. For a smaller and less chain feel (no matter how small) walk a few blocks to Guacaya Bistreaux.

This place has some great qualities, but it's definitely not without its drawbacks. First, the noise level was overwhelming--it was so loud that I could barely hold a conversation with the person sitting right across from me. On top of that, the tables are packed very close together, which made getting in and out of my seat super awkward and uncomfortable. The food was a mixed bag. The patatas bravas were delicious, though on the saltier side. Speaking of salt, the focaccia was the saltiest thing I've ever had in my life. It was almost inedible. The chocolate cake was rich and indulgent, while the cheesecake offered a nice, subtle flavor--perfect if you prefer something lighter. The gin and tonics were fantastic and definitely a highlight of the meal.Unfortunately, the service was quite slow, which put a damper on the experience. While the food and drinks were enjoyable, the cramped and noisy environment made it tough to fully relax and enjoy the evening. It's worth a visit for the food, but come prepared for a less-than-ideal dining atmosphere.

Incredible service! We came during a crazy busy time right before the holidays and thank goodness we had a reservation. They have a really good selection of wine options from Spain and here's what I recommend for food. Top favorite: chicken thigh! Comes with a nice green creamy sauce. Patatas bravas: c'mon you can't come to a tapas bar without ordering these. Empanadas - they give you 2 and they kind of taste like a sloppy joe which idk is a good to bad thing. It's in a buttery flaky crust which... wow! I love that. Prawns: also good but I wish I had more of these.Dessert:Flan - soooo good it's a smooth creamy texture and better than my moms which we make every holiday. Shh don't tell her. lol.Olive oil cake - super good if you like cake. It's nothing crazy and trust me you'll like it.

This place is a gem with amazing, authentic Spanish tapas. On our first visit we enjoyed the hearty aperitivo board and some of the special focaccia (not really Spanish but delicious) and should have stopped there-so much food. Best advice is to skip lunch so you have room to sample from the extensive menu. My second visit was on a Tuesday-not nearly as loud as the previous (Thursday) visit when it was impossible to even converse across the tiny two-person table.Given the layout, the best plan would be to come in a group of 4 so you have a bit more room for food-the two person tables are just too small. Even better the sweet spot might be a party of 5-there are 4 spacious ROUND tables in front of the wine wall that are well spaced and offer ample room.A couple Other tasty items, the gambas (shrimp), platas (amazing potatoes).Ambiance is warm and cozy but the high ceiling make it almost unbearably noisy on a busy night.Parking? Nonexistent. You've got to circle aimlessly until you are lucky enough to score a spot within a few blocks on the street. A big drawback but if you live downtown or work there, probably not an issue.Tasty and fun.

We had heard such great things about Barcelona Wine Bar that we had to give it a try! Note: would definitely recommend getting a reservation as they get quite busy!We had some delicious food. The focaccia was a little too salty for me, but otherwise delicious; the potatoes bravas were great; the cheesecake isn't sweet -- so if you are looking for sweet, I wouldn't recommend that (though I liked it. They have a reputation for the gin and tonic type drinks and they lived up to it!Because it gets so busy (especially on a Friday night), expect a lot of noise. The one downside for us was how loud it was, actually, and how close the tables were together, which made it a little hard to carry on conversation without feeling like we were shouting.

10/10 experience all around! Food, drinks, service, atmosphere, and vibes were all on point here. Definitely one of my new favorite spots that I'll be recommending to everyone. You'll want to make reservations ahead of time to get a spot. It's tapas style so you can try a little bit of a variety of dishes, which was fun. The tapas, drinks and dessert were all crazy good! We loved our server who was so attentive and made sure we had a great experience. I highly recommend this for a group, celebration, date night or with friends! If you haven't been- add this to your list!

I have been here twice now, and can certainly say this is the perfect addition to North Loop - for both girls nights & date nights. The service has been quick and timely, food fresh, and moody ambiance. I love getting dressed up just to go here. For date night, I would avoid making this the main meal if your S/O is someone who needs a big portion. My fiance loved the food, but needed a snack after. I liked this spot more for a group of 4 to split a bunch of different dishes - which was also easier on the wallet. My recommended dishes:Aperitivo Board is a must for Charcuterie, feeds 4 well - comes with the Patatas Bravas so you don't have to order separatelyTuna Crudo - Fresh and deliciousChicken Thigh - So juicy and flavorfulScallops - Large and deliciousPaella Mariscos - Delicious seafood paellaOLIVE OIL CAKE - absolutely must try, it's warm and rich and deliciousCan't wait to come back and try more!
