Bar Harbor Supper Club

We had a girl dinner here and it was lovely! The restaurant is really pretty and super clean. Everyone had something different and it was all amazing. I had the gnocchi with chicken. It was so pillowy with a delicious cheese and potato filling. It had large pieces of chicken and peas. It was SO good. The dinner rolls were a favorite too. They were a cross between a bun and a biscuit. Yum! Oh! The arancini are a must order too. Our server was wonderful too. We all loved it.

First off they told us we needed to make our reservation at 4:45. When we left at 6:30, they still weren't very busy & had a lot of open tables. I ordered a cosmopolitan martini, that was terrible. VERY citrusy. Actually tasted like there was grapefruit or pineapple in it. When the waitress brought it back to the bartender, he got mad. & was very rude. "That's how we always make them ". I have had a Cosmo there many times. They are usually great. Our waitress did a good job. But we did have to ask her if there were any specials or anything not on the menu. Which there was. Had the clam chowder. But could hardly eat it. It was so salty. Definitely not a good dinner there. Felt bad because we were celebrating my sister's birthday. Not sure if we will be back anytime soon. For the price & other good restaurants around, they need to improve their service.

Me and my family typically go here every Christmas season for a nice dinner and it's usually fantastic. The service is great and the ambiance is very classy and fun. But this year the food was just sub par, not even close to what we have come to expect. The fillet was over cooked, the sirloin was still mooing, the risotto was so raw it was crunchy, and the short rib had no flavor. They did little to fix the experience and the manager didn't want to hear what we had to say. Just overall a disappointing experience especially when you are spending $60 a person. I would steer clear! Many better options close by!

Fabulous! Food was delicious. Well balanced, flavorful, and fair priced. Loved the view of the active water way. And the carrot cake was a 10! We will be back.

Remember supper clubs? Great ambiance with lots of wood, superb steaks, chick, fish and seafood and views of the lake if you're lucky! This supper club fills the bill. Server has been there 15 years, so gave great guidance and we loved our choices! Special was fresh sea bass with mussels, Prohibited Black Rice, and veggie of the day. My friend ordered pistachio crusted walleye with corn risotto (she said it was good, but preferred normal risotto). It's a drive into northern Minnesota but well worth the scenery. Stay at Maddens or Craguns resorts for a nice break.

We eat here every year when staying nearby at Samara Point - this year we ate both inside and out (usually we just grab lunch on the patio) and enjoyed both of our experiences. Good food, varied menu, reasonably attentive service and (if on the patio especially) you can't beat that view. It's a classic for a reason!

Pros: Bar Harbor has a lovely ambiance of old-world elegance and a lake view. There isn't anywhere else in this area with such a warm, classy feel to it. Neutral: The food was fine but not brilliant. (Shrimp cocktail, dinner and side salads, walleye).Cons: The service was glacially slow, grouchy, and mistake-ridden. For instance, I ordered a Caesar salad without croutons, with anchovies, and the dressing on the side. When it came with croutons and dripping in dressing, I asked that it be sent back. "It's already made," my helpful server said. Really?!? She begrudgingly returned it and brought it back...still wrong (with croutons and without anchovies). It wasn't a complicated dish but it went wrong twice...I suppose we'll try it again and hope that we were just unlucky with the service, but I don't have high hopes given others' reviews

This was such an amazing supper club! Reminds me of the old fine dining restaurants we loved! Live piano music, amazing food and drinks. Great attentive wait staff. Grateful!

So sad that this place has gone WAY downhill. They've got a gorgeous restaurant in a perfect location on the lake. And they're trying to get by with low quality food, very weird foid combos from some amateur, high prices, and poor service. Now we see why there are so many recent bad reviews stating the same. We had dinner on a Saturday night in October at 7:30. My $40 piece of fishy salmon came only with a ton of sliced cucumbers and red onions with dill sauce. I had a full plate of cold cucumber slices from about two cucumbers with a piece of salmon on top. This cooled the salmon down very quickly, so I ended up with a cucumber amd salmon salad. Who eats that much cucumber? Nothing else. No rice, no potatoes, no hot veggies, no lemon, no tartar sauce. Mind you, it comes with a house salad first (just iceberg lettuce with cherry tomatoes and a hint of white cheese if you look with a magnifying glass). So it's like having two salads in a row. Then the salmon itself tasted and smelled fishy and we all know that means it's old. The wait staff is disinterested, slow, and not knowledgeable about various dishes. This reeks of poor management. Many items on the menu had dubious combos like the salmon did.

Excellent service, food, and drinks. Overall great vibe. For food, we started with a cup of clam chowder. We ordered the salmon and gnocchi and prime rib entrees. The entrees came with fresh bread and salad. Everything was really good and cooked perfectly. We didn't know what to expect but are so happy we stopped here for dinner! Highly recommend.
