Where in the entire city can you get real red Thai chicken curry for $8.95?? Nuff said. This place is the deli in the back of an Asian market, one of the best finds ever! They have a variety of Thai and Hmong dishes, such as stir-fries, noodle soups, Thai and Hmong salads, and of course curry, along with deli stewed meat, Hmong sausage, and BBQ meats. No I did ask if they pounded their own curry paste, which they do not. Ok so that's why it's not $15. Anyways it was great nonetheless. And it's a lot of food. I should have probably shared it... lol.

Bangkok Market & video rental, it was 7PM, the family was hungry, we stopped in the back, we waited, we placed our order, half of it, we have no kind of confirmation that it was taken, thank goodness there was a nice hmong police officer there to help us out.Food: Fried RiceThe fried rice was sweet to the taste, it was full of peas.Sweet pork and eggsThe sweet pork was quite greasy, the broth was lackluster, it tastes like pork neckbone water with brown sugar put in it. The amount of fat in this soup was insane, I Could reconstruct a pig there was so much fat in this soup.Phet curryThe curry broth was pretty good, it had two pieces of chicken, there was a lot of those eggplants in it, didn't really enjoy.Hmong sausage and sticky riceThe Hmong sausage and sticky rice was the most enjoyable part of this whole meal. Taste was nice, nice snap to the sausage, and was juicy on inside. Sticky rice was sticky rice.

Hmong convenience store with a great deli in the back. The convenience store itself is like every other convenience store. Nothing bad to say about it.The deli in the back is the reason why I come here. When you first go to the back, there will be someone there to assist you. If not, there's a bell for you to ring. After you order, you seat yourself, and they'll serve you your food.Their selection of meats are delicious!!! I ordered sweet pork, while my cousin ordered pork belly with a side of sticky rice. Oh my god, the sweet pork and pork belly was delicious!!! The sweet pork just melts in your mouth. The sticky rice was also great and hits the spot. We also asked for pepper, and it added a great additional flavor of pepper and fish sauce, with a good kick of heat. They also serve pho, but I wouldn't recommend eating pho here. If you do, you would surely be disappointed. You will not find another place that serves the same kind of amazing food in North Minneapolis.

I truly do not understand how this place remains so unknown. It's the heaven for people who loves hole-in-the-wall type of place with amazing food, and authentic taste. The food is tasty. I don't know what the person who reviewed so low was expecting. For $7-10 you get amazing meals, super yummy, amazing portion (enough for two meals), and friendly staff. They might speak limited English, but they tried. All you have to do is looked at the menu on the wall and say the number, they are not stupid. This is not a full-on sit down restaurant with Michelin Star, so get off your high horse and go else where if you expect table service and high-end interior decoration. The menu items are limited, I have tried most of the stuff and have not been disappointed. It's the type of place that if they are still in business without even trying, the food must be good...and the food is AMAZING! You have video rental in the front, small grocery store in the middle, and a small kitchen in the back. Yeah it might not be the best Thai food I've ever had in my life (and I have had plenty), but it's up there considering how much you pay.If you go, I recommend coconut noodle soup (if you like curry and can handle spice), fried rice, and pad thai. I work nearby and would take my clients to do work lunch here every opportunity I get. Everyone from the CEOs to the staff have loved this place. Can't recommend it enough.

I think one should keep in mind this was originally and is firstly an Asian convenience store. Set your expectations accordingly. As far as the deli goes, they have a wide array of options available. Portions are always generous. Everything is super inexpensive, however, quality does not suffer in the least. Also, the pho broth is very flavorful. Staff and owners are extremely friendly.

This is my kind of place. Great food, cheap. Large portions. It is not a place to take a date, the back of a store, but a great place to take your wife.Update May 2015, I have been back a couple times. My favorite Thai place. Order your Pad Thai, go get a can of coconut drink, pay up front, grab a table and a huge plate of delicious food will be right up. But don't tell anyone, I don't want it to go down hill.

Their Papaya varies based on the person who makes it, but the lady who does my papaya makes it superb! The sausages were dry and the sticky rice was just about right. I gotta compliment their BBQ Fried rice. It's actually pretty good! But my all time favorite is their Spring Rolls. Always blow me away! Tasty and big! Totally worth $3! But their bathroom and services aren't too good. Their pho isn't too good either, it was kind of bland to me. Hopefully they would check their species daily, because the little glass jar with oiled pepper in it had fungus inside.
