Amazing from scratch cafe with adorable gift shop options great for breakfast and holiday shopping! Mimosa flights in every flavor you can imagine and lattes that far exceed expectations in flavor. Fun staff with great personalities and a beautiful patio for dining in the summer. One of my favorite places in general but my absolute favorite in balsam.

We visited on 9/2422 and it took a long time for our two orders to arrive. We had ordered the biscuits and gravy, and classic eggs Benedict and both were overcooked. It was our first time visiting here.

The Balsam Lake Cafe is a really fun Cafe to go to for a meal. The owners enthusiasm about her business carries through into the menu, the service and into every aspect of the business. We really enjoy eating out on the patio during the Summer months, too. We recommend trying any of the skillet meals or the Countey Fried Steak breakfast.

Of all the things I love about Balsam Lake, this has to sit on top of the stack. Good food at a reasonable price, great people with a strong sense of community, and a midwestern charm that you can only get, well, in the Midwest. Look, there are other great places to eat all over this town, and this area, but Balsam Lake Cafe has a charm straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting. My point to you is enjoy this piece of the American Pie while you can. Nothing, regrettably even the good stuff, lasts forever!

Casual friendly cafe that I would rate 4.5*Service was super friendly and helpful. Food was very good. The highlight was definitely the eggs over easy. PERFECT! The sausage gravy was also very good as were the breakfast potatoes. The CFS was a 3.8 for me. I did not care for the chopped steak.What should you expect if you come here?I have been here multiple times and the food is always very good. The service is great. Atmosphere is small city cafe. If you are a rush, rush, rush person even when you come to the lake then go somewhere else. (There is a McDonalds in St. Croix falls) hehe.They have a lunch counter as well.Hope you have a great experience when you go to Balsam Lake Cafe.

Went over the 4th of July weekend for coffee to-go. We ordered 3 iced coffees and were told to wait outside. 20 minutes later we went in to ask if they were done and the lady in charge was very rude to us. She seemed very overwhelmed with the crowds for lunch on a holiday weekend. Everyone else working were very kind but the gal in charge was not kind.

We're new cabin owners in the area and were looking forward to finding a new breakfast spot... I am shocked this place has 4.5 stars. The food was absolutely disgusting. Pancakes were not edible due to being totally raw inside. Everything else tasted like it had been warmed up in a microwave and taken out of a frozen food bag. The waitress was very sweet, but if you're interested in good good it's not the spot.

Friendly staff and good food. The hashbrowms needed a little help, but next time I will get home fries.
