The Asa Parker Bed & Breakfast, ( and Marine on Saint Croix ) is a favorite destination any time of the year. My wife and I have stayed here around 8 -10 times over a 5 year stretch and have always been very impressed, so much so that we chose to have our wedding ceremony there, ( on the beautiful property ) 3 years ago. I couldn't have imagined a better venue or more welcoming and awesome hosts, ( owners Tim and Tibbe ) for our big day. Our guests were equally impressed. We usually like to stay in the Isabella Parker room, as it has a nice, big jacuzzi tub and a beautiful view of the St. Croix river valley, but we've had the opportunity to enjoy them all. The common areas, including a little landscaped garden and 2-room lounge area are wonderful places to relax. We've always had great breakfasts there and that seems to be the general consensus among the other guests at the table. This is definitely our favorite B&B and will always be the best in the business!

I like to try to focus on the positive, so let me start there. The room we stayed in was nice, big and had a private balcony. The room was really nice (except the ceilings were very low in places). That's about it for the positive. No one greeted us (ever) when we checked in. We had to find an innkeeper and ask her what the check-in procedure was like and she seemed disturbed. She just told us to go to the room and the key is in the door. That's it. In the morning we weren't greeted either and the food was awful (think 2/3 of a piece of frozen bacon, 2 tablespoons of cottage cheese and some eggs) and we didn't know when it was over since the innkeeper never talked to us. Obviously food isn't their thing and they didn't even tell us where to get a coffee cup (although after walking around looking another guest told us they had to find their own mugs, too). Terrible service and bad food makes this the worst B&B I've ever stayed at (in the dozen or so that I've been to). Since this is very near Stillwater, I would try every other B&B before going to this one (I've never had a bad experience at a B&B in Stillwater).

I recently stayed at this B and B. Several days before my stay I attempted to contact the staff to ask a few questions. They neither emailed or returned my call. It was not till I arrived that I learned the staff would not be on the premises but only a couple of hours on Friday and Saturday. There was an absence of communication during my stay. They dictated the time I would eat breakfast which was not worth attending as the food was less than what I would have expected at a B and B. Instructions were given in a phone message the afternoon of my arrival as to the code to access the front door and that my room key would be left in the door. The room was cold and uninviting. I would not stay here again. The location of the B and B is great and it's uniqueness has great potential for a more eager owner.

I did not like my experience there. The room was not the cleanest and the outside of the building looked grubby. Food was not good. I do not plan to stay there again. Wi fi was horrible. You could get it and a few seconds later it was gone. You couldn't do any work on it.
