This is one of my favorite lunch spots in the skyway. You can choose healthier options such as veggies and carrots as your side, or go with the scrumptious potatoes or any of the rice options. My favorite is the red beans and rice. There are a couple of meat options but the bourbon chicken is the star. The server also offers to scoop extra sauce for your rice. You can get a small discount if you pay in cash instead of card.

Great flavor and convenient location to get lunch while working. Could use some modern-design signage to increase its "curb-appeal". But definitely a great find and I will be returning.

I have been eating lunch about once a month at the American Cajun Grill in the food court in the old Norwest Center about once a month for the past 5 years. I love their blackened chicken and bourbon chicken. The place is only open for lunch M-F, but if you work in downtown Saint Paul it is absolutely worth a try.

This is my favorite sky way food joint. They are a bunch of Chinese folk cooking under the auspice of American Cajun. It's a little strange but I love the jambalaya (which I'm sure is not authentic jambalaya) and the bourbon chicken. These are incredibly tasty. Also, these come with almost absurd portions. Now, I disagree that it is overly salty but will say that this is heavy food definitely not healthy neither. They only use dark meat and aren't shy with the oil. These guys are cash only so plan accordingly.

There was nothing cajun or blackened to be found in my Blackened Cajun Chicken. There was an over abundance of salt though. The $6 price tag is pretty good but unfortunately the food is not.

Best of all skyway food downtown St. Paul. Both the blacked and bourbon chicken are amazing, with great flavor and big nice portions.

I have been coming here regularly for over 20 years and the quality is always exceptional, the service fast and friendly and a great place for a lunch. I don't work nearby anymore but it is worth the 30 minute drive for the great bourbon chicken, jambalaya and potatoes

This place is soooo good. The blackened chicken is the best dish! The people are even better. They have me coming back. The prices are reasonable too. I would give 6 stars if possible

The food isn't half bad. Huge portions and less than $6 for the meat only option or $7.50 for the combo including 2 sides. I'd rate this place higher if I felt better about their food safety practices. Saw them pull a bin full of meat off the top of the vent... Who knows how long that sat out un-refrigerated. Also the person serving the food is the same person taking the money and no gloves or hand-washing happens anywhere in that process.

I've been going to the Cajun Grill off and on for maybe 20 years and now my daughters are hooked on it so we visit once a month or so. We all love the blackened chicken, bourbon chicken and potatoes. The Chinese owners are very friendly when you get to know them...Mai, Eric and Kevin. It's a small family run operation and I loved the sign they posted last year that they'd be closed for 18 days ....they were going to China to their son's wedding.
