Eau Claire Staple and a must go to place when in town! Have to have a burger and the wedges are the best!

We used to bring visiting friends here, but we're rethinking that. Burgers weren't the thick, juicy patties of the past; they were thin & dry like a frozen patty. Fish fry fillets were hot & flavorful though. Portabella Fries were hot & flavorful. The worst part were the clouds of FRUIT FLIES that surrounded us the entire time. SO ANNOYING & UNSAVORY.

Stopped in for the first time while visiting in Eau Claire. What a treat! Such a classic neighborhood Wisconsin bar. Total dive bar with good food and friendly staff. A must if you are in the area.

My fave bar and bar food in EC. Came back to visit after 30 some years, and Orv was still behind the bar. Burgers just as fabulous as I remember. Servers are super friendly and helpful. Can't beat the local bar feel in this spot.

Looking for some lunch and stumbled across this place. Loved it! We had burgers and the fish fry and they were great. Good people inside!

This is a 5 star rating for what this place is. A neighbor bar with a really long history. It has been a tavern since the 1880's. They have a grill and deep fryer behind the bar, not a separate kitchen... and they turn out great apps, 'Amber'gers, wraps amd sandwiches. They serve food until close. Thursday and Friday have a fish fry. Very quaint. I've been here a few times over the years and it never disappoints. Had the olive and Swiss amberger last night with a Bitburger beer. My wife had a bacon cheese burger. Love the tots!

As good as it gets! Great food, zero hype, friendly service, cold beer. What more could one ask for?

Yelped this place en route from Chicago to Minneapolis: SCORE! In continuous operation as a bar since 1881, the Amber Inn is the real deal. New Glarus on tap--a Moon Man for me--and terrific 1/2 pound burgers made this the perfect lunch stop. The staff? Super friendly and rightfully proud of their tavern.

Watch out for being overcharged for your meal. Charged nearly $40 for two Friday night fish dinners.

Went In to get the grilled chicken salad...the menu clearly states that there are eggs on it....got the salad, nope no eggs, drunk manager who almost fell down going into the bathroom said no discounts...really don't have it on your menu then...sent the salad back, husband had a bacon cheese burger with wedges definitely not a half pound burger anymore...he ate the whole burger and all of the wedges, and that has never happened, stup I'd bill came to 19 andso.e change for one burger with a side and one beer....nope never again...
