Amazing Alterations

I had a really great experience at Amazing Alterations for my wedding dress, I felt really taken care of and listened too. My dress has a lot of beading and I was told by my bridal boutique to get a really competent seamstress - and I absolutely did that. I had a great experience!

The bridal boutique that I bought my wedding dress at recommended Amazing Alterations for all of my dress needs. Because I bought a sample dress I needed not only alterations but a cleaning. I was able to call Amazing Alterations and get my appointments booked with ease. I scheduled three fittings, it started about two months prior to the wedding date and the last appointment was two weeks before the wedding.Overall I would recommend Amazing Alterations. The seamstress I worked with was extremely knowledgeable and gave a lot of insight to things I hadn't considered. I would give her 5/5 Yelp Stars. I do wish they would have been a little more Covid conscious as there were no mask guidelines despite how close you are to someone during the fitting process.The only reason I did not rate this establishment five stars is because on both my first appointment and second appointment I was charged incorrectly and I was the one who had to point it out. Being overcharged happens but their system appeared a little wonky because it took a while for them to figure out the mistake and how to fix it. I didn't feel 100% confident in what I was charged for either time. So while I recommend the shop I would also recommend checking over your bill and making sure you know what you were charged for. Otherwise it was geat.

Amazing alterations did my wedding alternations and they were truly the best and made me feel so beautiful and made a stressful process not stressful. I got my veil and belt from them and they were great prices. The staff was so warm and welcoming and I just really enjoyed my experience. This location has great parking as well and is so close to the cute downtown anoka area! Perfect for lunch or drinks after your fitting :)

I searched high and low in the Twin Cities to find someone who can do vintage restoration- I've been wanting to restore my Grandpa's letterman sweater for years. I finally happened upon Amazing Alterations. Elizabeth took such great care and time with my grandpa's sweater. When I brought it in, she took the time to sit with me and talk about my hopes & wishes for the sweater. She was clear & transparent with timeline and pricing. It was finished almost two weeks early. They were able to repair all the holes, affix some patches that weren't previously attached, new buttons, and elbow patches. I am extremely pleased with the final result and would recommend Amazing Alterations to anyone seeking out vintage repair.

The staff was amazing with altering a dress for my daughter. It turned out beautifully and done within a pretty short window of time. The one criticism I'd give is the lack of faith put into my daughter's suggestion about color. The tailor felt she knew best and the end result, although is beautiful, would have looked even better had my daughter's color choice been given a true consideration and done. It really is in the eyes of the beholder. In this case, the person who has to wear the dress.

Amazing attention to detail and fit! Great and supportive staff. You will leave with a smile on your face and an amazing gown that will make you feel like a queen!

I'm late writing my review, but after looking at my wedding photos again, I need to.I decided to wear a black wedding dress for my Halloween wedding. I found a dress on Amazon that I liked, and I knew it would need to be altered. I was referred to Amazing Alterations by a friend. The dress (when it arrived from Amazon) didn't exactly fit like a glove, and I knew the seamstress would have their work cut out for them. I needed to have a bustle added to my train, the sides taken in, and it shortened by a few inches, etc. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They listened to what I wanted and were happy to help. They quoted over $500 for alterations..... but hey, most dresses cost thousands of dollars. My biggest issue..... they used clear buttons for my bustle. This wouldn't be an issue on a white dress. But it caused them to "glare" and reflect light in almost all of my wedding pictures. I was really bummed about that. It made it look like I had cheap snaps attached to the back of my dress. I will still give them a decent review, but would like the seamstress to know - next time a black wedding dress comes in, use black buttons for the bustle. All in all, they did a great job on a $125 Amazon dress.

I went in for my initial fitting, was given the itemized bill, and paid the deposit. When leaving with my dress after my final fitting, the new bill had an additional $200 charge that they had forgotten to add initially. No one called to notify me of this, and it was quite a shock to see the new price (3 days before my wedding). Also, during both of my appointments, the staff talked about themselves the WHOLE time and did not seem interested in how I felt in the dress. As far as alterations, the bust cup they put in was not tacked down very well (even after we asked them to fix it) and I had to use a lot of fashion tape on my wedding day. Overall, I was not very happy with Amazing Alterations.

Service & quality of work is unmatched. Will not go anywhere else for alterations. They made day of alterations in a timely fashion. They studio is super cute inside & everyone made you feel welcomed & like part of their family

I had my final dress fitting today. Everyone was extremely friendly, polite, complementary and just a pleasure to work with. I definitely would recommend taking any alterations to Amazing Alterations. Wonderful wonderful experience for getting my wedding dress altered there
