Average sushi but it's AYCE. My favorite is the snow mountain roll. They have plenty of cooked rolls. For non sushi eaters there's noodles and rice entrees with hibachi.I like their tempura and nigiri as well. I would recommend the squid tempura.

Good sushi and good service - 4 stars. This was my first visit to Akita. The first thing I noticed is the restaurant is huge and quite beautiful. After eating at a lot of smaller mom & pop and franchise style places recently, I didn't expect such a spacious footprint. Even the entryway is big, including a decorative water fountain. (It also included a host that seemed like he was BORED out of his mind!)I ordered my usual tuna based sushi rolls. They were very good. I'm always a little suspicious of the sushi rolls that have a chopped "tuna salad" type stuff on the inside...which is exactly what I ordered. I get a little concerned that it may disguise various sins & offending ingredients like factory vegetable seed oils. I never got a satisfactory answer about the ingredients, but I put it in my mouth anyway. My food definitely tasted good. The service was great. I went with the all-you-can eat menu instead of the a la carte menu. It saved me a couple bucks. As usual, they acted weird when I wanted to look at both menus first, before ordering. I don't understand why sushi places act so odd about this...but I insisted looking at both of them. Hey - I've never been here before. What's so weird about looking at both menus? I don't get it.FYI, I read a couple of other reviews. Akita Sushi & Hibachi isn't named after a dog breed! Akita (the restaurant) and Akita (the dog) are named after a geographic area, a prefecture in Northern Japan. All in all, a nice visit. I'd definitely go back again.-Maxx

Great food, great atmosphere, been here about 5 times and I think it's the best one in the metro. Not sure why the rating is average, should be at least 4.5 stars.

Solid spot for all-you-can-eat sushi, quality is definitely in par with other AYCE sushi spots in town. I love the hand rolls here, and they also have some bbq/hibachi items. Service is relatively fast when we went, and the restaurant is pretty clean and well decorated. A little far for me but we were visiting a friend.

Food was good today. Service was good. Packed on a Friday evening. Got my sushi fix in... not the best quality seafood but very good for ayce. The tuna and mackerel sashimi felt a bit watery. They ran out of hamachi kama which I think Is fish collar(only serve on wknds), will have to try that nxt time.

This is another of my "In real time" reviews...Started with shrimp tempura and deep fried scallops. Ordered ice waters to drink. The service is pretty slow especially given that it's not too busy. Water showed up. She was distracted and forgot. Next round of orders are in... The place is not winning awards for cleanliness... but the dishes are clean, and the tables are wiped down. The restroom is clean and has an odor of bleach, but not overpoweringly so. Ordered a rainbow roll and a crazy roll, some tuna sushi, and teriyaki beef. The rolls arrived with no wasabi and apparently we will die of old age before a server returns to ask for some to be brought over to the table. Need drink refills but that isn't looking good either. Holy crap is the service slow. Really slow. Server finally came back. Asked about some ahi sushi that I ordered, and she took off fast saying, "Sorry, I Forgot!"Server is back. Wrong stuff. Sorry again, and she is off to get the right stuff. Still gone...Still... oh, here she is... I asked about the tuna... "I'm sorry, I forgot! I'll go get it."Asked her about the wasabi, which she subsequently brought to the table. It's not real wasabi, but I would not expect actual wasabi root at a place like this. She's back... right stuff. The ahi is room temperature and the rice is like-warm... I'm not so sure about this. Feels a lot like sitting in an exit row on an Alaska Airlines flight.I REALLY want some water to wash this biology experiment in the making down... but no server in sight. Forget asking anyone not working my table apparently. I am as invisible as dog crap on the lawn when my son is cutting grass. Finally got some water to wash the warm sushi down. A friend showed up mid meal, ordered some rolls and a glass of ice water. Her rolls showed up, but no water. "I'm so sorry. I forgot. I'll go get your water."Server hasn't been back in about fifteen minutes. I wonder if I start walking towards the door if she'll show up again...Server finally swung in and asked if things are ok. I asked her about my friend's water."I'm so sorry. I forgot. I'll go get it."Tick tockTick tockTick tockNow I'm just timing stuff to be petty. It was 7 more minutes for the water. The good: Abundant quantities of food. Fairly reasonable pricing. The bad: Warm sushi, kitchen floor looked rough. The ugly: Horribly bad service. Seriously... the service was just horrible.

The food is so good! Each serving is freshly made to order. Try the sushi pizza it's a must!!!. Love the big tables so the whole family can sit comfortably together while enjoying a wonderful dinner. The waitstaff is always on point.

I generally am not a very big fan of "All You Can Eat Sushi". However, this place wasn't bad. It had the typical small dish + lots of rice nigiri; but the dish tasted good! The low-sodium soy sauce had me adding more than usually to get the salty fish taste I desired! The fried rice was extremely bland. It needed more salt for the rice, but ESPECIALLY for the protein. Saltless chicken is not very good.I'd you want a quick sushi fix, this isn't a bad spot!
