Saint James French Diner is an American diner meets French bistro with a full bar and a charming French-inspired interior. SERVICEStaff were very attentive and friendly. DRINK5/5 Wink and a Nudge (spicy, smoky, fruity, sweet):Mezcal, Strega, passionfruit, guava, Thai chile. Mon amour gave me a spicy red wink and a nudge. FOOD5/5 Sunday Supper Special:Filet mignon (tender with savory gravy), bed of angel hair pasta with spicy tomato sauce (delightful with Parmesan), seasonal vegetable medley (asparagus, root vegetable cooked to perfection)This vraiment délicieux visit will have me coming back for more! :-)

Saint James was delicious! I love the atmosphere - a French diner. My complaint would be that I did feel a little out of my comfort zone walking in. There's no Hostess Table - no clear understanding of if I should search for a waiter or seat myself... And then two items I tried to order weren't available. When we pivoted, we were told we could sub anything for our sides. That felt really limiting! And it was honestly pricey... I think it's a date night you've gotta put on your bucket list... then move on to the next place after :)

An IG recommendation brought me to Saint James French Diner and I couldn't have been happier with the results. I ordered the Burger Parisienne and it came out looking immaculate, with a medium patty, caramelized onions on a brioche bun surrounded in an amazingly flavored bordelaise sauce. I ate most of the burger once I picked it up because it was too hard to pick up again due to the sauce. Oh wow, was it good! The last 1/4 of the burger I ate with a fork and knife. The fries were very good as well. My tablemate got the Burger Americain and it's a traditional mix of medium patty, lettuce, tomato, red onion and special sauce served with fries. He loved it, but wished the server had asked how he wanted it cooked, because he would have had it medium-rare.

The food here is really great and very rich. Do not miss the French onion soup and their massive burgers! The only slight negative is aloof servers. Everything gets served but without much warmth.

Another beautiful and delicious meal. Brunch today with awesome friends from the desert. Cassandra and Michelle provided exceptional service and laughs. They were kindly accommodating our friend's food allergies. We went up to the roof to take in the view before heading out. Until next time.

Seriously... a great night. We had wanted to go here and on a whim we walked in. We were seated immediately and our server was full of smiles and very helpful. The place is small, but felt great. The vibe was just right. We ordered two meals -a burger and chicken and ... wow. Both were magnificent. First, this is not a full on French restaurant, it is more like French adjacent. The burger came with bordellais sauce and was yummy. The sauce was perfection. The chicken was also excellent. The side dishes were also quite good and the meals were of good portions and served hot. O think almost anyone would enjoy a meal here.

Came here on a Saturday for Happy Hour which runs from 3pm to 6pm. It was pretty empty when we arrived. We missed the brunch rush and the afternoon dinner crowd hadn't quite arrived. It's attached to a hotel and there's a rooftop bar that opens after 3pm so I bet there's plenty of foot traffic. It's small, there are a handful of workers, and the energy can be super high and the chatter from the tables can bounce off hte walls. So expect it to be a little loud in there. There is 3 different menus depending on what time you come. There's a brunch menu. A lunch menu. And a dinner menu. I can imagine this place being really good for brunch and the bottomless mimosas. The menu for the brunch looks great. The only things on the Happy Hour menu are half priced burgers which comes out ot be about 10 dollars and there are three options to choose from (fries not included). The cocktails are 8 dollars and the wine are 6 dollars. Make sure you double check with the wait staff to double check which drinks are on the happy hour menu because i ordered a wine from the list and when I got the bill, it was at full price. They didn't tell me that the wine I ordered wasn't part of Happy Hour. The burger I got was the Burger Parisienne. It was delish. It was different than your typical burgers. It has caramelized onions, american cheese, and sauce bordelaise. Worth giving it a shot. The staff were okay. Spoke Spanish to the bartender and he'd only respond to us in English but talk to others in Spanish. That was annoying since we'd prefer to order in our native tongue. The manager was super nice and circled back to us several times. Despite it being a beautiful space, the happy hour offerings weren't good enough to bring this to a 4 star place. I also ordered with a waitress who was filling in temporarily for the bartender (we were sitting by the bar), but she never put it in the system and so I was waiting for a long time for a burger that the kitchen staff didn't know had to be prepared. I'd definitely come back for brunch and I imagine that'll increase the rating I'll give them. But until then, it's a 3 star place for me.

This place is really good and I had the best croque madame here. However, the service is super slow and pretty bad. When my husband asked for coffee, all he got was a straight black coffee; no offer of cream or a refill like most other places. When they offered us hot sauce (the waitress offered it and we accepted), it was an empty bottle of Tabasco...at that point, why even bother offering it? It was so tacky and embarrassing. Not only that but our waitress took forever to give us our check. Perhaps she was trying to avoid us because she was worried we'd be asking for more food/drinks? It seems like all the patrons around us kept adding food and drinks on their tabs, but we just wanted to eat what we initially ordered and be done with the place. My husband and I aren't difficult to please. I don't need my waiter/waitress to be super friendly and smiley. Just take our order, offer cream/sugar and condiments once, and when you see our plates empty, offer to get the check. That's all! If the service were more prompt, maybe you guys wouldn't need a table reservation system. In spite of all this, I really liked the food here. It was much better than we anticipated and I'd totally want to come back again. I'm hoping that if we ever do come back, the service does a complete overhaul.
