Saiko Sushi - Coronado

Love coming here! Sushi is always so yummy and so are the drinks. Recommend making a reservation during the evening though. It can be super busy

Incredibly fresh and delicious sushi! My gf raved about this place and after dining here, I concur! We stopped by for lunch on a Wednesday and were able to snag a table outside to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air. They open at 11:30 and by 12:00 all outdoor tables were taken. We started with arnold palmers that were a little bitter, but the fresh cucumber water definitely made up for the lackluster taste. For apps, we had the Saiko edamame that was extremely delicious! If you like spice and fried garlic, you will be obsessed. We also had the karaage steamed bun that was delish, but I was disappointed that the karaage was only available in a bun as it is normally sold as it without the bun. Only one comes per order so for the amount of food we ordered, splitting one was perfect. Our mains consisted of the crown and ace roll. Both were fab, but the crown roll was the definite winner. The next time I visit, nigiri/sashimi are in my future. I ordered the blood orange chicken to go and OMG, I am not a huge fan of orange chicken to begin with, but if they all tasted like Saiko's, I would be in heaven.Jennifer R. was our waitress and she was very sweet. Sad . One of two restaurants in Coronado and it's absolutely mediocre. Menu is dull and uninspired, almost every fish was not available or sold out. Special rolls were nothing to write home about, small fish portions that looked old and dry like old beef jerky. Servers were nice but often confused and did not understand their own menu. Hand rolls were 98% rice , 1 % cucumber and 1% tuna. Look at my pictures. So sad.

Super unique sushi rolls which can be on the pricier side. Great date night spot as its right next to centennial park in Coronado so you can walk and see the skyline of downtown sd with all its lights. Went for my birthday and i had an option for free ice cream, vanilla, matcha, and unagi. Suprisingly unagi was delicious. It was sweet but salty, perfectly balanced.My bf and I shared 4 different rolls. We got the Crown Roll, Kingpin Roll, Saiko Roll and the Blackbelt roll. Our favorite was Blackbelt as the pineapple jalapeño emulsion sauce was so damn flavorful like mm mm mmmm. They open later than most sushi restaurants, and I would come back again just for the ice cream and blackbelt roll.

Amazing sushi!!! A great price for the portions and flavors you get!Went during happy hour and while it's definitely cheaper, the portions are still huge! You'll leave happy hour super full.

We had been to the one in North Park so many times that we decided to give this one a try. We were pretty disappointed. We ordered the chef's specials (that's what we usually get at the other location and they're always honestly some the best specials I've ever had) and we were pretty disappointed with everything. The way they combine their flavors is super odd and just didn't feel like I was eating sushi. Our server was also not the kindest and we had to ask three times for our table to be cleaned off. We probably wouldn't come back, but the surrounding view of Coronado is gorgeous!

I have been here multiple times. I used to go more frequently when I lived close to the Coronado bridge because of the accessibility. I liked it a year and a half ago the multiple times I went, but this past week it wasn't as good. I got the Crown Roll which didn't have much flavor, salmon nigiri which wasn't the freshest and the rice was old and not cooked well. The miso soup was my favorite part of it. The ambiance in there is nice and they have a nice bar area. The service there has always been mediocre and the staff aren't very happy/friendly.

5 stars all the way!!! Best happy hour hack on the island. We come here every Monday for all day happy hour and get the best quality rolls and sashimi and drinks till closing time. I can't give enough praise to the restaurant Ive frequented for the last 9 months that has delivered the best quality and service that's second to none. Great job y'all
